Rooting for Fenix up in here. Yeah. Who plays games from '99 nowadays... Oó ...

So were the first two games just HuK fucking around because he though Drewbie had no chance of beating him in a serious game, or what?
|
LOL. I can't believe HuK won 3-2 after those games 1 and 2.
That is so incredibly awesome. It's like he knew that even if those two games didn't work, he could still just HuK things up and take the last three.

Ok I'm getting really confused here, people are linking me to channels where the atnDarkforce vs Bratok games are streamed, but they are talking about cs 1.6 and IEM finals.
I want to watch the IEM, where can I see it? And in case it hasn't begun yet, where can I watch cs?

Very funny and interesting. Those were the times....

Complexity wins an eco and are up 6-4 as CT, looks like they'll win this 2-0.

I want to watch the IEM, where can I see it? And in case it hasn't begun yet, where can I watch cs? IEM finals for starcraft begin when IEM finals for CS 1.6 end. You can view the stream that is currently showing CS and will show SC2 when CS is over here http://www.esl-world.net/masters/season5/newyork/esltv_stream/
The other link you are seeing, with Bratok is part of a separate tournament, that some people are watching as we wait for the IEM starcraft finals to begin.

Thank you, but are there any restreams? I don't have the octoshape plugin and I see no place to DL it...

Yeah but a shooter is a little different from an RTS. Once again, I don't want to rag on something other people like just because I'm not interested, but most modern shooters just seem like CS with better graphics. Obviously there are differences, but the basic gameplay is nearly identical. My basic is point is what the fuck is the point in watching people play shooters at all? In SC, there's a large variety of tactics and outcomes, every game is different. To me, every game of CS looks the same. People shoot each other in mildly different ways.
I don't know, maybe that's just me. Probably I'm just frustrated that instead of the SC2 finals, I'm watching a bunch of people standing around pointing guns through little cracks in doors. -.-

Because there hasn't been a good competitive, team-based (or 1v1 based in Quake's case) FPS shooter since the late 90s that could over take either game. The games these days look good but they don't have the depth and gameplay complexity/replayability of said classics. CS:Source for example is a joke because of the terrible engine, the only reason it was played by serious competitions was because tournaments in the US basically forced the players to play it. It wasn't until these organizations failed that Source died and 1.6 took over again.
And for the people that watch shooters, well generally the people that play them and are familiar with them. The top players and teams do things that normal players can't, so that in and of itself is entertainment enough for most people. But for people more knowledgeable of the games, seeing the strategies and tactics used and executed is a pretty big attraction as well (players don't just run around the map mindlessly).

To a random spectator the gameplay of SC1 and 2 looks pretty much exactly the same with better graphics. Is that true?
