*WARNING*
Big pics ahead.
(and if you want them I have even bigger ones)
Has everyone gotten used to the new design yet? When I first saw the new logo (which is what? six weeks ago?) I absolutely loved it and knew I had to do this.
"This" you say? The few of you who remember this blog may have a good idea of what's coming. First though, I'd like to thank suffeli for helping out and designing the logo. Now then, if y'all are ready, I present what's been eating away at my spare time for the last couple of weeks.

For those still wondering: It's the TeamLiquid logo made out of chainmail.
The design of this has been quite a challenge. The MBC logo was something along the 30x30 pixels line. I got some pixelated versions of the TL logo from suffeli, but a simple 1 on 1 pixel conversion like I did with the MBC Logo would either become too indistinct to be aesthetically pleasing at all or so big it could protect the Trojan Horse. I therefore tried putting semi-pixels and quarter/three-quarter pixels in this, which was harder than it sounds since chainmail doesn't quite work like neat squares. It took some trial and error, but I'm really happy with the result!
Some stats:
I used galvy (grey) and aluminium/aluminum (white) for this. The galvy will become a good bit darker over time so the figure will be more distinct (compare with the MBC logo *pic below*).
The wire is 1.5mm (galvy) or 1.6mm (alu) thick (16 gauge).
Total amount of rings is 6281.
All rings have a 6mm diameter.
This totals about 140 meters of wire.
The whole thing weighs just under 2 kilograms.
Work in Progress
I took some pics along the way, they're in the spoiler below:

What do with it??
When I first started out with it I wanted to, ambitiously, get it done before Gamescom. You know how SC:BW players have cheerfuls in their booths? I wanted to give this to Naz to take to Korea so the TL players could put it up in their booths. The project turned out to take much longer though and, sizewise, the thing is quite a bit bigger (and heavier!) than a regular cheerful (compare with the MBC Logo which is cheerful-size). So yeah, I really don't know whether I'd do them a favour sending this half-way across the world.
Naz, if you read this: I made this for you guys, I love TeamLiquid <333 and if you want it it's 100% yours. Maybe it can be a cool (unique!) decoration for the training house wall or a sexy convo starter at whereever it is you do your managing business. Just let me know. Until then it's going on my wall to gloat over or maybe I'll auction it to some TL-crazed fanboy out there for charity.
Well that's it for now. Hope this was enjoyable. Got another ring-blog coming up soon so keep an eye out!
