The replica has a bit of chainmail throat protector that uses a European type weave, but the real armor (when traveling back in time) uses a (historically correct) Japanese weave. I want to see liquid players wearing full mail armor when they are in the boot. That way even shaking hand with your opponent can turn into mind game ("shall i shake his hand? will he crush mine?"). Plus it would look totally badass | ||

I think I came across an inlay pic (from this gallery I think) and just wanted to try it myself. The MBC Logo was my first attempt. Later wrote a guide on it too. Needless to say my first attempts were absolutely horrible but I read up on the matter and the basics are pretty easy once you get the hang of them. It kind of developed into more of a hobby and since 90% of it is just braindead cutting rings or making small units I can do most of the work while watching films or vods. I don't LARP and from what I understand you aren't allowed to wear actual chainmail during it? That's a massive killjoy tbh, might have gotten into it otherwise :p I use mostly very basic tools (drill, pliers, wirecutters). You can pretty much spend 15 minutes in a DIY store and get started. | ||
