Hey. This is about a fairly boring thing that happened to me - won't be super exciting.
So a few months ago, I had an "incident", so to speak, in which I hallucinated a spider-shaped kind of thing in the bedroom. First off I want to point out, I like to think I'm not batshit crazy. I'm 21 and I've never had anything like it happen as far as I can remember and I really value my sanity. Also, I'm not particularly afraid of spiders at all. Not a big fan either but it's not a phobia or anything like that.
So it was in the middle of the night at about 3AM, it was very dark, I woke up to drink some water or something and "floating" above me there was some dark, fuzzy shade which looked like a spider to me. It felt like it was 2 feet above my face. I jumped out of bed (leaving the gf alone with the beast) and turned on the lights... turns out it was nothing - and I made an ass out of myself.
I didn't think much of it at first so I calmed down and went back to sleep - next morning I was a bit worried but again didn't make a fuss. This morning the same kind of thing happened, except it wasn't even dark this time so I don't even know what to think about it. I opened my eyes to check the time and I saw a "spider shaped" thing rush up the wall - I jumped and kind of quickly sat in the bed only to realize that there was nothing there.
From my perspective, it can't be anything besides some kind of visual hallucination or something like that - it's weird to think my mind can play tricks on me like that. I've always known that senses are far from being infallible, but this is something else.
It only happened twice, but to me it's trippy as hell. You guys let me know what you think.

I've had similar things happen. Not sure what to make of them. Although, once it was real. It was within reach of me, so I quickly punched into the wall. Nice dead bugs are nice.

I have stuff happen to me like that a few times a year or so when I wake up with maybe sleep paralysis? I can't move, and I'm seeing a body figure next to me either touching me, or just someone there. All of this feels 100% real too which is the freaky part. Few seconds later, it all poofs once I turn the lights off LOL.

Well, glad to hear it's probably not all that abnormal. ^^
Looking forward to seeing more responses :o

If you're watching porn while browsing teamliquid ATM, your penis would be confused.

these are the same halluciation you get by doing some nasty dangerous drugs and by my guess are indicative of states of poor mental health

I think it's just your mind playing tricks on you. I wouldn't sweat it, unless you see it like 5 times in the same week or something, because then that means you're going crazy. Seriously.

Hehe, it only happened about 4 months ago and yesterday morning and it only takes me about 2 seconds to realize there's nothing... Hopefully I'm fine ^^

this guy's right
now is there any reality to what you saw, or is it just in your mind? this is a good question.
I myself have seen strange things where seemingly lucid and awake (but still like, in the middle of the night when i got up from sleeping). I once even saw a 3 foot figure clearly scuttle past me as I walked ot the bathroom.

I've had something similar happen to me after I was awake for almost 40 hours straight. After laying on my bed for about 20 seconds I saw this shadowy, dark dog-like creature at the foot of my bed. When I saw it I almost instantly became paralyzed and my head started shaking almost like I was having a seizure but not really. It only lasted for about 5 or 6 seconds but ever since then I've vowed to never become that sleep deprived again.

I think spiders are crawling on me all the time on deliriants.

You go through your life too boringly, nothing exciting is happening, so the brain creates funny things to spice it up a bit
