Think about it. If you lose to him standard how many times do you think he's donked on an A- foreigner standard?

! [G] How to Beat Flash Players Introduction First of all, let me start by saying that this is one of the hardest match-ups you'll ever encounter. A good Flash player has a free, infinite-energy comsat station that scans the entire map, by itself, every 4 seconds or so without replay nor observer detection. Because of this, cheese builds are out of the equation. A good Flash player will send his scouting SCV just for harrassment purposes and to fool the enemy into thinking he hasn't reached that level of autonomous, infinite comsat. A good Flash player will always counter your build regardless of what you do. Proxy Gate rush him and he will kill your Gates and Pylon with 500 hp SCVs with no economical disadvantage (as these mine 20 minerals per trip) and proceed to kill you right there and then if he so wishes. Go up on a standard macro game against a Flash player and you will lose to his 200/200 3-3-3 (yes, that's an extra 3) army by 10 minutes into the game off of one base. With this said and kept in mind, let's proceed to our guide and try to capitalize on the disadvantages in Flash player's playstyles these days. Scouting Do not bother scouting a Flash player. Save that peon instead to gain the most minerals you can. Do not let a Flash player have an economical edge on you even though he will have quadruple of your economy by 2 seconds into the game. Here's a good formula for calculating a Flash player's mineral count at any given time x (in seconds) into the game: A Flash player will always open with 14CC. Do not 4 Pool, BBS, or proxy Gate a Flash, just take it like a man and keep playing as if nothing ever happened. Do not show hesitation to a Flash player or you will miss your Pylon at 8, 100% of the times and he will leave your base with a 10 kill SCV. Your goal for the early-early game is to save as many peons as you can and one building against a Flash player's scouting SCV, including Overlords. Build-Order A build-order is not neccessary. Thus, there is no point in discussing one. Your goal is not to achieve something by means of a build order. Whereas Protosses early expand, produce fast Corsairs and DTs and harrass a Zerg player to keep him in a multitasking/defensive mindset, and whereas terrans fast expand and mass up to 6 Factories for a timing push against a double expanding Protoss player, you on the other hand, need not do these things. Your build-order against a Flash player will only focus in one thing: Survival. vF is the only match-up in which a build's most important characteristic is building placement: Hide your buildings, spread them all over the map, make one behind a tree or float one to a corner. Your goal is to save as many buildings as you can from a Flash's scouting SCV in the early game. Defense If by any miracle you can tell a Flash player is about to attack you, pull all your peons (all of them) to your ramp and put your entire army behind them. Pray you survive the first harrassing/scouting push. If you do, keep your peons there, do not send them back to minerals. Instead, start building them from scratch again in your main. It is of utmost importance you don't forget this. It is also very important that you cover the entirety of your base's edge with Turrets/Spores/Cannons and make two rows of these. Note that this will only help you defend the first push at 3 minutes into the game so you need to cut peons and mass up an army afterwards. If a Flash player decides to attack you with his main army, press enter, press g twice, press enter again, then do alt + q, q. This is the best strategy so far against an attacking Flash as it will not let his army ever get to your base. This will, however, put you 1 game behind as a consequence. Offense N/A Late Game A vF lategame hasn't been reached as of today. Humanity still has no knowledge in this area. However, we assume and theorycraft that it should be based around a Flash player being AFK and good building placement by its opponent. Conclusion Flash players are a worthy opponent indeed. The balance of the MU is so perfect that it is out of vF games that we draw our inspiration to create better and better games along with revolutionary builds, strategies and tactics. As my last words, I can only wish you good luck in this match-up and hope that someday soon, we will be having a replay on our hands, in which we finally, after more than a decade of fighting, sweat, blood and tears, killed a Flash player's scouting SCV. Have fun! + Show Spoiler + iNfeRnaL fighting! <3
