Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion. For regular posters, don't quote the trolls.

I try to not reveal my sexuality in games for this reason: people are morons, and it's something that you can't escape.

Many of my friends were in a guild with a VERY VERY VERY gay guildleader, and he was well-accepted and got along with everyone.

I think its more of a problem with keeping something as huge as that a secret, you think you know someone, but in reality you didn't at all

The guy who was touching me a lot was another gay guy, who was also there with his boyfriend. They had come to the tl.net party because one of them was providing a place for Ralf Strake (i think you know?) They were some pretty awesome guys! After gamescom was done i made my way over to Cologne's gay district and got my fix then. haha

We had a 15 yr old in our guild who was pretty effeminate. We always chalked it up to him being under-aged. One day though he came out to the guild and everyone was really cool about it. So he started posting pics of himself in girl jeans etc. just for fun I actually don't remember a single person in the guild having a problem with it or leaving after. Basically he just became one of the girls to me because of his personality. It was a very mature guild with a lot of adult and female members too, I'm sure that helps.

On the other hand the my gay friend in fashion I wish I can dress like him and hes pretty openly blatantly gay and i have 0 problems with him. And one of the guys pretty much sounds just like a chick and i have 0 problems with him..When people ask me if I'm homophobic I always say no but now I think it depends on just how gay they are? if that makes any sense. But your gayer then them all and I love you so I DUNNO. HALP

As long as you treat everyone with respect, i think you're good to go. Don't sweat the small stuff. P.S. i love you. play sc2 with me?

Let me explain, I'm obviously not gay, I'm attracted to women, but how should I put it... Large women, but I still ask myself a lot of the questions you ask. If I bring a large girl to my parents to meet them will they accept her? Will they think I'm weird for being attracted to her? etc etc etc... But by the same token there is absolutely no way in hell I'd be able to make a thread on a forum about it. Let alone on a gaming forum where guys like me, or hell even girls like that could chat about these things, and find others who have the same hobbies and interests. And it's not like it's easy either. All the larger girls I've tried hitting on either think I'm just looking for an easy way to get laid and have no interest in them... Anyway it sucks, and I'm incredibly jealous that gay guy's can sympathise with each other so easily, and openly. Hell, just the thought of a real life or e-friend finding this post (as small as the chances may be) and giving me hell about how I prefer larger girls scares the crap outta me. Because like you say, I sympathise with their hate, and that is indeed screwed up. Anyway, more power to all you guys. There was a guy at an internet cafe I used to frequent who was gay and we ended up becoming decent friends, and he often talked about how hard it was to find gay guy's with similar interests so it's good to see a thread like this. Have a good one.
