Not sure what kind of laptop it is, but replacing parts in laptops is a HUGE pain in the ass so I would prob get a new one unless it is a super expensive one. do you have any estimate of how much it would cost to repair/replace the card (if that's possible)? thanks

Thats why I said it is only worth it if your laptop is highend and expensive.

That actually happened to my laptop about a month ago and 'revived' it just before SC2 came out. There was another blog post (http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=138362)mentioning a video card that failed and by puting it into an oven for ~9 minutes it'll bring it back to life. If you have no other options .... and are comfortable with stuff like this you can try this http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1421792 I have an Asus G1 and followed the disassembly guide. Baked it for 385F for 8:45 minutes.

edit: Whoops accidently clicked post. Usually that happens when your card is too hot. Get HW monitor or some other monitoring program to see your temps. I doubt you OC'd that budget card, it would be pointless but you should lower the clock rate or underclock it. And since its a laptop, in my experience the heat distribution is bleh.
