Isn't that how it's normally played though? You can't really have counter-claims without knowing how many of each role there are. You can have 1/2 the people claim infested terran without knowing how many there are supposed to be, you don't know if any are lying or not. They could all be telling the truth :/

depends on a combination of things. Open/Semi-open/Closed setups aren't strictly good or bad depending on what roles are hidden and what other mechanics there are in the game.
ETA: No counter-claims aren't that bad ^_^

It's mafia's fault for not coming out to counterclaim that stuff. I guess role revealing upon death is a factor in this as well like you stated. But I'd rather have role count publicized and roles not revealed upon death.
Even with role count hidden, a big portion of every game is "hey let's think about what a balanced setup would be and try to figure out how many of each role there are...". That's not what mafia should be about.

I am going to reveal what roles are in the game. The day starts in under 22 minutes from this post, at 9pm EST (10 KST) and goes for 48 hour days and 24 hour nights. Role PMs have all been sent out.

GG I guess I can handle what you have up there right now. I still don't like it, but at least people can't roleclaim day 1 and either prove themselves innocent or give the town 50/50 odds of mafia.
