Hey TL, Just an update on my Seoul searching. Since last time I've been to a korean bathhouse, watched KT vs CJ and SKT1 vs WeMade and explored a few mega malls (not COEX yet). The bathhouse was pretty confronting with 100 times more male nudity than I've ever handled sober (poor choice of word). I've been very lucky with the games especially with the second series, no ZvZ's and full length sets. It's pretty exciting to watch live, especially with all the fangirls screaming. I managed to ninja a whole bunch of the SKT1 plastic banging things including this one.
A few things I have learnt having now been here about a week:
Contrary to popular belief Korea has a similar ratio of hot:not girls as anywhere else
Dae han min guk is an overused expression
There's alot of couple dressing, some of them are pretty funny with their matching outfits. The stores sell a bit of it too, even matching underwear.
Some couples hire expensive prams just for the look...
Korean women are considered selfish if they are married and don't have kids by a certain age for the good of Korea or something like that.
Vegetables and fruit are surprisingly expensive here, i'm guessing they need all the farmland for kimchi cabbage, and even then they import a bunch from china.
Patbingsu is overrated. Never been a fan of sweet rice/red bean desserts. Asians do amazing mains but their desserts aren't for me. edit: maybe i got a bad one, i'll try a straight ice and ice cream one next
Frozen yoghurt is better
Cass > Hite
Bunky is fucking annoying
Canata is a champ. Funny looking guy and not a great terran but he is seriously friendly and outgoing. He was stoked that foreigners knew his ID and had plenty of time for us and his lone fangirl.
Fantasy is shy and awkward. Colpan got lucky and accidentally met him on the players elevator behind the studio.
Bisu is a bit wierd, very effeminate and awkward. He was so hard to get at surrounded by fangirls 5 deep. The whole dynamic of the fanmeet is a little odd, they just split up and take questions and presents from their young female fanbase. There were 0 korean guys there.
Boxer is a legend, we finally got to him as he left his fangirls and despite the manager telling him they had to go he did photos with Colpan and I after all the other players had left.
+ Show Spoiler + Me at KT vs CJ, ty ZiZi Yo
Any suggestions on things to do next? I won't go to much more proleague and please don't say anma/salon/love hotel. Lotte world, palaces, COEX, drinking till 3am for Nigeria vs Korea and some old school village outside Seoul are currently on the cards. I might go to the MSL group selection but my lack of Korean language skills would probably make it pretty boring.

Damn right I own. Now all of Korea should know it.
Any kpop concerts you can go to? Korean cooking class? Tae-Kwon-Do event?
EDIT: Gonna bring some soju back for [TA] or TL meetups? :D

Nice shot with boxer! As for what you should do next, here's a list Chill made:
+ Show Spoiler +- #1 was always nights that started at Rainbow (which was 70% of them haha) - Going booking with Rekrul and the SC players. - Drinking with Artosis and talking about SC in various places. Artosis is the most passionate person I've ever heard talk about SC and it was actually a really fun combination alcohol + sc discussion. - Drinking with Zatic but I guess you can't do that lol. - Going to the various live SC. SKT vs KT with Elric and talking to Lux's weird gf. Holding up signs. Talking to fangirls. - Finding places to eat alone. Starting conversations with randoms in coffee shops and restaurants. I miss that a lot because for some reason it feels weird in English but fine in foreign languages. - Street food. Alcohol in convenience stores. - Road trips. Busan = great, Jejudo = great, that mountain place we went to was really great.
I see there being two (maybe three) Korean vacations: 1. Tourist. You do all the historical shit. You dress up in the weird wedding clothes. You go eat dinner at expensive "traditional" restaurants. You climb the mountains. You go to the DMZ. 2. A day in the life. You try to speak Korean to people. You try to make friends. You try to pick up girls. You talk to everyone, you go to bars, you contact friends. (3.) Rekrul life. (Splurge to extract maximum fun and possibly do things you wouldn't normally do because they are out of your means)

Chill's list is quality, where/what is Rainbow? I've done the expensive "traditional" restaurant and not that interested in going to the dmz.

My guess would be either:
1) To get the palate excited with acidic/punchy flavors of the tomatoes 2) To cleanse the palate after the dessert so your mouth feels somewhat fresh
I vote #2.

Sounds like an amazing trip! Did you have local contacts helping you out?

Hahah that grin on your face in the picture with boxer is so priceless. I'm sure I would be just as happy if I were in your position there.

I'll be working that, but you're right. A couple of years ago it was epic; filled with fun ceremonies, and lots of fans. Last time was terrible though. Only 2 decent ceremonies, and hardly any fans. I was photographing it, and I spent most of my time just sitting around taking random shots of peoples' cute sneakers.
