Long story short I was trying to fix a rootkit problem and the person helping me on bleepingcomputer told me to run ComboFix. Too bad after I ran it I couldn't start up my computer because compbatt.sys was missing. I'm waiting for his response but it's taking forever..
The reason I must use my usb is because my laptops optical drive wont fucking load meaning when I put in a CD it won't go in =\
I have the Vista Recovery .iso and my USB but despite reading some guides it's not working properly, or at least I am doing something wrong. I know for a fact my computer has a boot usb option since when I press f12 it gives me several options.

Get a program called unetbootin. It's main use is for loading linux distros onto a flash drive, but it will accept any ISO. I got it to boot windows 7 for me for example. your mileage may vary.

You need to format the USB into a bootable format, then extract the .iso files and place it in the USB. Your computer can't intrinsically read .iso so you'll have to extract the contents and place the boot files in the root directory of the USB

unetbootin only works easily with linux, so I wouldn't suggest that unless all you're trying to do is pull files off of your computer...

If you are having problems making the USB into a bootable yourself there is a program called "wintoflash" that basically you just mount the ISO on daemon then run the wizard. This is the most simple method for creating a bootable USB I have found - hope it helps.

Wow, yeah that's the hard way. Glad it worked!

Not that it will help now but did you mount the ISO file with Daemon before you ran the wizard then selected the Daemon hosted image as your source? Anyways good you fixed it!
