Don't know what that really means, but KeSPA depends at least as much on SC1 as Blizz Korean Market does on KeSPA.

Blizzard censored stuff and got it down to 12+ I'm still not sure I understand you. So are you saying you feel Idra is just an exception and teams like Hwaseung, KT, Wemade, etc, etc, will not want any Starcraft 2 players? I know in most of Artosis interviews the majority of the coaches felt that the scene would switch to Starcraft 2 with the exception of 1 or 2 coaches.

I think the current relationship is too iffy at the moment for anything to happen. If my guess that the relationship between KeSPA and Blizzard is still "bad", then the corporations are simply not going to pay for the sponsorships for SC2. Unless of course, people would like to see Sc2 players pull the same shit the older players did, living off prize money.

Blizzard just wants total control over their games and Korean E-sports scene...they just wants to milk every possible dollar out. The reason being...there is no promise that sc2 is going to be as big as BW, but there is big possibility. Blizzard made big mistake not doing this 10 years ago when they released BW, they never thought that BW would become so big in Korea, they missed opportunity to make huge profit off of Korean E-sports scene. This time Blizzard ain't taking no chances...they want their hands on every possible revenue generating businesses. once again fuck Blizzard for being too greedy while not working hard enough to please us gamers who made enough complaints about how shitty the new battle.net is at current stage... EDIT: also add to a point...Blizzard is very dilusional thinking it makes a fucking awesome game and it can do w/e it wants to do with it. It's not Blizzard that made BW great..it is the progamers/fans/ogn/mbc/"not GOMTV"/"not KeSPA." Blizzard..try to fuck with these people now...in reality you are fucking yourself... Korean people are very patriotic...if you insert a negative image to Korean fans...it is a matter of time until they start to boycott w/e Blizzard makes...and it's true...once they start hate on something, they will hate on it until it's dead.

This will probably brew up a legal war as Kespa will try to remain the home of Brood War. This is fair game after they killed the Gom TV invitational though, which was a great tool to broaden the appeal of Starcraft outside of Korea.

Standard operating procedure for all sports. NFL has exclusive contracts with CBS/FOX/NBC/ESPN for example

That word is never great for anyone except fanboys. An eye for an eye since kespa killed GOM but I wish they worked harder on negotiating. Though I really don't have any idea how much kespa is trying to control. If it's unreasonable, I can see why Blizzard would try to work with someone else.

It's practically MSL/OSL/Proleague death sentence, giving exclusive rights to GOM Kespa killed it by not agreeing to the deal, so GOM hopped in and took advantage of it. Kespa's handling of the match fixing also will contribute to any decline of the Starleagues/proleagues

This might not turn out well... we can't really know how bad or well this will turn out, its beyond our minds, its completely business, and unless your one of those guys from the Shark show, or w.e its called you cant be certain nor can we as a whole. It will all come down to, whether or not its a hit. But that was just obvious. edit: i for one, most definitely have my fingers crossed, they are actually breaking in half trying to cross too far. ^_^

The content I've seen from GOM has been nowhere near OGN when it comes to quality And I HATE HATE HATE the fact that Blizzard is taking control of leagues and broadcasting rights. Sure, it's their legal right but it's awful for the community and esports. Fuck it, why are there so few good RTS-games out there? I hate supporting Blizzard but we really have no alternatives. If you hate Blizzard... why do you play Starcraft?
