Well, his tunes are imo very predictable and far away from the standards that other artists put out with every release. And for second he has openly stated that it is all about the money for him.

But tbh I was a little dissapointed when I saw him live. To me he lacks a bit in the variation. If you hear the first 30mins, you know what to expect for the rest of the evening. But on the other hand he is damn good at what he brings, so that should make for a hell of a night. Enjoy!

I am a huge electronic music aficionado, and while I agree that 98% of Deadmau5's tunes are unadulterated crap, he has also produced some tracks that are absolutely perfect and amazing (Ghosts, Strobe, Brazil). This is enough to make him good artist in my book. You say there are other artist releasing similar but much better work, I would LOVE to listen to them! Do you have any other suggestions?

His older productions were better, the stuff he's churning out now is old and stale. "Some Chords" is actually a pretty terrible track, it's the same three chords over and over again.

Well the first one that comes to mind is Christian Smith, he absolutely slays in the scene at the moment. His remix of Carl Cox At Les is being released 24th May and it is definitely in my top10 tunes for this year. Julius Best, Mistiquemusic label, Cocoon Recordings, Toolroom Records (Mark Knights agenda), Silk Digital Records, Joris Voorn are a few examples that come to mind really quick Not exactly same type of dirty-electroish stuff that Deadmau5 puts up but at least more on the progressive side. I quess I'm one of the few that hasnt jumped on the French-Electro (Boyz noise, Justice, Kavinsky and such) bandwagon, but Danger is my only exception, hes god tier. Revolte - Weak Generation (DANGER Remix) + Show Spoiler +

Oh okay, my bad. I thought that you were searching some more minimal stuff on the melodic side I'm also a melodic head myself, started listening to uplifting trance around ~2000 and been listening since. To my surprise the progressive genre exploded in 2009, so heres a few recommendations from me on the melodic side of prog As I mentioned earlier Mistiquelabel is massive (Michael & Levan, Moschic, Kay-D, Shane, Domased Electronica etc. etc.) Silk Royal Recordings Jetlag Digital Unreleased Digital Natura Sonoris Rennie Foster - Falling Skyward (Kaito Remix) Kaito is probably my favourite artist at the moment. + Show Spoiler +

Yes it is mate, he uses Fruityloops/FL Studio and I think the demo content in there is done by him. He also made a song called Arguru - a tribute to one of the main developers of Fruityloops who died in a car crash..
