I think I would do a lot better if I stopped rushing void rays and went back to killing pushes and then expanding. I gotta look up a standard PvT build... I've been rushed a few times by toss players with Void Rays, and I start to crumble since my early game is just about harassing the toss player as best as I can. I'm not sure if I'm just trying to be too fancy, or if there's really nothing I can do about it. :<

Yup real life is annoying. Haha. Remember, most people in Copper-Gold actually aren't that good at macroing if I'm out producing them. Just constantly produce probes/drones/SCVs, build lots of unit production buildings, don't be too scared to take your natural expansion, and try to keep your average unspent minerals under 400. Someone has probably already told you that (and if they haven't START DOING IT NOW) and I know it isn't that easy but concentrate on that and you'll have a huge army compared to most people.

But, I do know how you feel. I was embarrassingly dropped from Bronze because: a) I stopped playing for a good 2 weeks b) Some dude probably got bumped into Bronze and deserved it. Terran seemed to be the standard to play with. I only ever see Terran (being a US player). Hm, it's funny how the race variety differs depending on what continent you're on. I get too caught up with any advances I'm currently making that I completely forget to macro. I'll definitely, DEFINITELY, work on that :D!

All they every do is cheese their way to the top and barely give me sound advice. I've only ever just lurked here before, and I just started posting on blogs because, well, I'm on here so goddamn much lol. I apologize if I sounded like a complete jackass in my OP. I was just frustrated. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has felt that way. Btw, I'm also impressed (and somewhat in awe) that everyone has been so helpful. It would probably be a good idea to try making TOO MANY production facilities so that you can learn how many will work out for you based on your econ.

In patch 1 I went from Copper to Platinum took a lot more games than it does now, but it helped me improve at the game so much. Copper was about 30 games, bronze was about 60, silver was about 40 and gold was about 25. Of course as soon as I hit Platinum the first reset happened. I do miss silver, it was my most favourite league for the diversity of skill you played.

I'm the OCD type of person who disgustingly enjoys starting from the bottom and working their way up. So I'm assuming you just try to get to the strongest units as soon as possible. I've never been in copper but I'm guessing you could faceroll everybody there just by constant scv production and being very aggressive as soon as you can get low tier units. This lets you focus on small parts of the game and prevents you from having to get in macro fests vs weak players while your mechanics (managing many units/structures) are still developing (to put it nicely) edit: also start hotkeying everything and using keyboard shortcuts instead of clicks ALWAYS - this takes time if you are new to rts but if you dont start now you will get stuck somewhere in bronze/silver anyways

Simple way to get to silver: in placement matches, lose 1 game because you mess up the hotkey that transforms overlord to overseer, despite the fact having double the supply of your opponent. Lose another game to tripple proxy gateway in PvP. There u go, you're silver T_T (that's what happened to me... Anyways, climbed to gold now !)

I also play T, and my problem is either forgetting to produce units (and hotkey-ing the each building would probably fix that) OR I get myself in a situation where I am stuck with the same production buildings that I started with. Watching a lot of these matches, I realize, as most of these players expand, they're dropping pairs or trips of each building. So, I guess I need to working on both. Trial and error is what I've been doing. Even then I've been doing it all wrong. I'd experiment certain strats as soon as I know the game has turned towards my defeat. That way I can get in the "practice". Maybe that's what's kept me sunk so low lately, because then, I develop such bad habits when I do win that way. Thank you so much for the advice. I'll def keep that in mind
