EDIT: I really like this kinda music. It's something I can't find in American or European bands (if you know of some that has the same style, please tell!) Vocals + awesome drum n bass accompaniment

OP, I am sorry that you've been disappointed with their works as of late. If you don't mind me asking, since what particular album did you start to get disappointed? Not to boast or anything, I consider myself a very dedicated Epik High fan. I've purchased all their albums and even got to see them when they came to LA. Sometimes I also do miss their style of music from the first album, but in the end, I give respect to Epik High for not being afraid to try new things and their desire to just make MUSIC. They just don't give a f**k, as musicians they simply want to just make music how ever the hell they want. They even went independent for a while because of that. So I personally don't think it's a shame at all. I've never been disappointed with any of their albums and doubt I'll ever be. Also, it's not like they've went completely pop either; their hip-hop side is still there (map the soul book album for example). Anyways, that's my take on Epik High Oh yea, I got my own copy of epilogue at the end of last week. Been bumping it non-stop!

I was simply in LOVE with epik high since 1st album all the way to lovescream... and I even bought Map the Soul (the book album)... but I guess their major dissapointment was in [e]... I guess their style just was too much of a drastic change lol but epilogue was definitely good! i just bought it a few days ago =P

Since been listening a lot of Epilogue as of late, I've realized that I didn't listen to [e] as much other albums (when they first came out). They are still some pretty damn good songs in [e] though (Heaven and Lesson 4 being my favorites); they just kind of got buried within 30 tracks. Epilogue is definitely good indeed. I wish the album was a little bit longer, but I've been digging every single track haha. Oh btw, what's your second favorite album? I am curious because my favorite is also the first but not by a lot; I just really like all their albums too much as well.

On the other hand, Epik High, a group I personally adore, are somewhat of a rebel to this as they faced difficult situations beginning from their debut album (which this thread features) due to lack of connection and somewhat of a negative media feedback due to some event where Tablo defended his passion when a news company accused hip-hop of being a lowly music. From then on, they have grown up to a point where they work under their own label, map the soul. This is really the pinnacle of k-pop scene at the moment in my opinion and for a person like me, would want Epik High's music to be distinguished as a general hip-hop than k-pop because frankly, k-pop comes with some negative connotations for those who do not like them. In terms of Epik High's ingenuity, listen to/see the lyrics (although it may be hard for some songs being in Korean -_-; and experience the freshness in meaningful lyrics in contrast to what has become tainted hip-hop scene I've been witnessing recently. EDIT: For those interested, you should check some songs on youtube because some of them like Lesson One is in English. And...there's a funny clip on youtube when Tablo is freestyling while he's drunk. Pretty awesome.

[e] was pretty much the downfall of epik high. all previous albums imo were amazing. <3 epik high although 'epilogue' was pretty damn good for the most part.
