There are definitely some bitter pills to swallow, but there are some very promising things said that shows they've been paying attention.
(Lastest patch, they've nerfed the warpgate a bit) They're looking at the PvP stale zealot vs zealot (common complaint) They're looking at the lack of Terran mech (common complaint) They're looking at readability of Zerg on creep (fairly common complaint) and readability of Protoss team colours

Actually they said they were monitoring the diversity of the Zergs- hence the infestor. I think what you might be referring to is whether there should be more ground units. (The questioner was probably thinking about lurkers/ more micro opportunities, and Blizzard is probably thinking lol, there are more ground units then SCBW- Of all the ground units, only the lurkers didn't appear- instead several air units have been grounded- queen, scourge into baneling, and there is the roach.)
So probably poorly worded question, the Zerg probably don't need more ground units just changes to the ones already there.

this is just making me lose more and more hope for sc2 -.-
i expect to play bw 3/4 of my time, and sc2 only with my casual gamer friends XP

Why would sc2 be more heavy on the connection than sc1...?

no im talking about how they think the zerg is pretty good right now and only needs a few tweaks to the infestor and stuff and that they think the roach is fine.
zerg have a lot of different units, but the problem is that they are all extremely boring to control compared to the other races. the reason im changing from zerg right now is that theyre so boring compared to P/T, but unfortunately blizzard thinks theyre just as fun for some reason.

am I the only one whos excited about the VOICE and effects changes to the sounds in SC2?

As long as they leave terran alone, terran voices are awesome :p

Of course, such things don't have to be sent in real-time. Not sure how Blizzard have done it. Other than that, they should be comparable.

I can definitely agree on the boring part, although toss units aren't that much better and only terrans are really fun to play with.

Agreed 100%. I really don't wanna switch races, but I feel like I'll have no choice cause they made zerg so boring.

Why am I getting a 1.5 second or so delay if the latency is set to 250ms? Other people have complained about higher delays as well. It seems their network coding or whatever has problems in addition to setting the base latency too high. 250ms is actually pretty snappy, thats the latency I play HoN and LoL at, and theres only a barely perceptible delay. I'd be completely satisfied if I had that kinda delay in SC2.
Interesting read, though I do hope we're allowed to choose the server we play on.

If you live outside of the US and connecting to the US servers, there are several tunnelling services which reduces the delay by a big margin (still delay though )
www.lowerping.com is a Australian based company mainly used for aussie world of warcraft players but now supports SC2 beta.
Its subscription base so keep that in mind :/, i personally cant play without it, wayyyy too much delay. I hope blizz does something about this and makes the delay similar to HON or iccup.

Replay files are almost equal in size to BW replays, so the data transmitted is either the same, or marginally more/less.

I don't see why everyone is complaining that they are gonna have gateways a la US West/East/Asia etc. So everyone has to hang out in US West, don't they already? Wasn't this in every Blizzard game released?

That's the thing tho, from what we can tell, you can't actually switch gateways, if you have a european key... you are stuck playing on Europe. Currently in the beta that's how it is.
Of course, I hope they change this and that it will work like you say. If so, I'm fine with it.

oh my god people, there are about 50,000 features and bugs they need to fix, as well as work on balance, They can't possibly put every damn feature in before launch time.

God dammit. They mentioned DOTA. God... Dammit.

That's 8 bytes of data every time the screen moves which can be capped at 30 times per seconds so 30 * 8 = 240 bytes per second. Even my old 28K modem would LOL.

I guess I'm a few days late to this party, but this isn't just one more damn feature. Having only region-specific tournaments would suck hard. (Edit: A lot of the answers were disappointing to me, but that one really made me do a doubletake the first time I read it.)
