There is some issue with the servers a lot of ppl are having problems.
Anyone else? I think its BS Saturday morning I'm unable to play the game I just bought this week.
I read on the steam forums that their servers had a power outage or something

Shooting down a Black Hawk with an RPG is very satisfying. So dramatic, even managed to clip the tail of one with an RPG. Some of the maps are poorly designed though, too easy to abuse.

have the issues from pc beta been fixed?
Mainly hit detection and poor optimization iirc
|
Cant speak about optimization because it never ran poorly for me.
Hit detection is better, in the beta if you didn't burst it seemed like the game just ignored your shots after your first but clicking your mouse fast would make your shots register. In retail you can burst a lot more effectively. There's still that bit of lag before the shots register though.
The server browser is even worse, takes forever to get results. And it's 50/50 I don't get some error when trying to connect to servers or log into the ea server because it's just all really unreliable and shitty atm

agree. I was actually surprised I was able to get some kills shooting from the hip. in beta, shooting from the hip was more of a crap shoot if you would hit anything at all.

also agree with this. you'll notice this most when someone charges at you and gets a knife kill while you were pouring shots into him except kill cam shows him at 70% health.

the best method is to find servers you like to play on and favorite them. however, favoriteing servers is a bit buggy. only works for me when I put in a search term to reduce the server list. might be able to favorite servers through the history tab also but I haven't tried that yet.

They addressed the optimization issue, works fine for me. I couldnt even run the game on low with constant 20fps. Now low-medium settings work fine in most cases.

Your favorite server works? mine hasn't been working and it crashes the game.

I got a CTD once while in the Favorites tab. put in about 3 hours of multiplayer.

Anyone playing this on PC? I'm looooooooving it and I'd be down to run a squad.

Bad Company 2 has been working a lot better now

The Carl-G in the game is imba. Screw taking down armor when you can hit a paper clip from a mile away and shoot birds out of the sky with ease. The projection is straight, Ive fired over 1100 shots still retaining 95%+ accuracy. This thing is a 1 shot kill sniping monster, especially against infantry.
And along with the AK74u or UMP(I either use the mag ammo or balance perk), engie is by far the best kit. Still too many assaults spamming tubes. :/
edit: VOIP still doesnt function, VENT is a must for good squad coordination!
|
tubes are not that bad in this game you actually have to aim, while using the anti infantry rocket with explosive perk = lol
I like playing assault and engies the most
|
I never use the explosive upgrade, one direct shot with a Carl-G on a helo, light vehicle and infantry is all you need. I love sniping with it and the tubes, Im amazed how most use it more often than they fire bullets.

The optimization is miles ahead of where it was in beta. I actually canceled my pre order because it ran so poorly during beta. After it came out I saw my roommate playing it on his pc and was impressed how it looked, than I found it for $30 on eBay and that sealed it for me.
Add me up as well: Vozuca
I will play it till I get into sc2 beta or till sc2 comes out.

My friends and I feel that this game has great potential, but that it 'feels' strange. It doesn't have the smooth feeling Quake or Modern Warfare 2 have, for example. Almost as if your bullets do not hit, or have a delay.
Do others recognize this? Or is it simply because the early weapons are that weak? I really want to like this game..
|
Bullets have travel time and are affected by gravity. But on top of that yes there is a delay/lagginess to the game. It won't stop you from doing anything when you get used to it, it's just the price you pay for destructible environments and vehicles all over the place.
Once you get used to how the guns feel and how the netcode is you will probably feel a lot more comfortable. Early weapons are shit though, the only one that is good is the PKM. Try bursting on a medic you shouldn't have trouble killing people.
Right now I am running around sniping people with the 870 shotgun with slugs and magnum rounds. It's hilarious one shotting people with a shotgun from across the map
|
There's a small delay, but most of it is travel distance. The bullets just move slow. If I snipe someone at 300 yards, it takes 3 seconds for the bullet to get there or so.
