well really strange/random but (and this is likely to be one of a few random blogs I'm gonna write... well I guess not random since I'm sorta planning them, but random in the sense that they're random thoughts and things I will write about)....
I work at my high school. I recently found some adderall in a classroom that I guess a student had left/forgotten. Anyways, there were two of the little tablets and they were 10mg. I've heard a lot about what it does, I've never done it so I thought to myself, "why not"... I wanted to see what it was like.
From what I've heard about it is that it makes you think much quicker, it's good for studying, and basically turns you into some superhuman learning machine. That kinda intrigues me.
I did a bit of reading up on it to see it's effects, and some side effects were dry mouth, loss of appetite, etc.
So I took the two pills I found, and I'm just wondering... does it actually do anything? I guess I don't know what I was expecting, something like a magical lightbulb to go off and suddenly I'd become a mental superman. I felt the same (I think). I DID get the dry mouth thing, and I had the empty feeling in my stomach (knowing I hadn't eaten anything all day), but didn't feel a desire to eat... and then suddenly many hours later I got REALLY hungry (maybe the effects wore off)?
My question is: how much does adderall actually work? I feel like it's kinda a placebo. Perhaps it really didn't do anything and I just imagined the stuff happening because I had read about it? I mean I felt/acted completely the same as I always would. I was working on physics, and I didn't particularly feel some magic understanding awaken inside me - I just felt normal. Is this normal? Is this blog stupid?
What are your guys' experience? It was sorta interesting for me in that I did feel the dry mouth thing going on, but other than that I felt kinda the same...

Not posting this as a dickish reply, but there have been threads with many replies..

cheers
PS taking random pills in bottles probably isnt the best idea.. I know you did your researched and probably compared the with a photo/imprints...but still..lol

I agree.. I don't usually take pills I find, but I was kinda curious to see what it would do =P. And I am well aware of the previous adderall threads (I read them when I was doing research on it to determine whether or not I should take them in the first place).

Perhaps you didn't take enough to feel effects? I've never done it so I don't know a dose for a "trip" level experience. After all, this drug is taken daily by those with particular medical conditions so I doubt two pills will produce very strong effects.

meh those were the only two I had, and I'm not really curious enough to find out how to buy more.. probably a waste of money/bad idea anyway =P

adderall either works for u or doesn't.
it does not make you think quicker. it simply raises concentrations of neurotransmitters mostly in the prefrontal cortex (where you think that you exist) though a combination of processes.
the effect is pretty immediate. if u don't notice anything within, say, 30 minutes it's cuz u already got plenty of neurotransmitters floating around in ur skull and are a generally happy and fun person to have around.
ur perfectly, disgustingly normal. i bet you don't even drink coffee.

i've never had coffee in my life, and I rarely drink tea and never drink soda.

I've taken Adderall for ADHD before, and it worked well for me, but it affected my appetite too much, so I switched to some new medication.
Here's the thing with ADHD meds, though; If you actually have ADHD, they'll work wonders. If you don't have ADHD/ADD, it won't do much besides make you jittery.
Adderall doesn't make you think quicker per se, but it does help you concentrate. It helps you do boring stuff like reading over notes and doing practice problems, but it doesn't magically raise your IQ.

I took adderall and had a really good experience. I studied with my friend all through the night and was focused the whole time.
Haven't done it since though...

I'm only going to 5 this blog if you make it a running thing. "Xeris tries pills he finds in strange places and blogs about what happens".

That's pretty much it. There's quite a few intelligent people that have a really hard time just focusing their attention, so when they can focus their abilities like a laser beam it suddenly does seem to them like they might be alot smarter at whatever they're doing instead of being so easily distracted.

the blue ones suck
The red ones are good.
I think it is a miracle drug to be honest. I studied math for 7 hours straight and passed an entrance exam that i had failed the day before ez money.

I have ADD and adderall has helped my life so much. In 5th grade I was a disobedient trouble maker with no future, they put me on adderall and I started achieving in school and developing socially. For me it's been a miracle drug that has greatly increased the quality of my life. Can't say the same for everybody though.

the generic name for adderal (which is just a brand name) is amphetamine salt. you took speed. all the kids who take adderal take speed. just packaged in a different name. it speeds up your metabolism helping you "focus" by constantly stimulating you. its not a panacea it will not cure anything that ails you but it will give you a mellow feeling if you were not raised properly and for kids with no trouble "focusing" will give you a high like 3 cups of coffe. if you are one of the poor few who gets "prescribed" speed by a "physician" then you might develop a craving and or reliance.
basically it is the schoolboy's coke which makes shrinks and pharmie peddlers rich. kids i knew who took that now work on wall street and roll with six figures but have traded it for blow, which they do constantly. btw, its not a coke problem until you are out of coke, right?
not to say adderall is "bad for you". just to say it is speed, thats all.
