Hey guys.
So i've booked my flights. I've been wanting to go to Europe for as long as I can remember.
Everything has just seemed to come together. I've finished university for the year, some friends of mine have offered to put me up (woo free room and board), a friend (and fellow forum member) has been staying there already for 4 months, she's fluent in french, I recently inherited a reasonably large sum of money. My degree (Environmental Engineering) requires me to 800 hours of work in the industry before graduating, but because of the recession finding work has become neigh impossible.
As I said, everything has seemed to come together.
I leave New Zealand on the 6th of January, arriving charles du galle the day afterwards. I'm then spending the weekend in paris before taking the train to Brussels, where i'm being picked up from the trainstation. From then on, I have nothing planned until my flight back on the 3rd of March.
Help me Teamliquid! I have vague plans, but I've got two months in Europe to fill up with exciting things.
Does anybody have any ideas? Where must I absolutely visit? What food must be tried? Is anybody interested in meeting up? Which things are must sees?
I have the following limitations:
-Flight dates are set in stone. -I'm based in Brussels. -I'm on a students budget, I have more than enough to last me and pay do to exciting things, but I can't do any great splashings out of cash. -I want to see as much as possible. -I'm a 19 year old male kiwi, while my sometimes companion is an 18 year old female. So I can't, for instance, go to the casino or have lesbian sex.
Think you can give me a hand?
Cheers guys!
P.S. Would anybody be interested in me doing a travel log? Uploading pictures, relating interesting stories and so on? I many of you probably don't share my absolutely giddy excitement! :D
EDIT:
P.P.S. Still waiting on riptide before I can unleash the awesomesauce that i've been working on. Sorry about that!

Where in Brussels will you be? I live here. I can't really say I'm a tourist in my own city though, I wouldn't know what to visit lol. Things like the 'atomium' appear quite lame to me but you might be interested in visiting them? But I can promise to get you absolutely stoned at least once, even though I absolutely haven't got a clue who you are, but hey you're TL so you're family.
I'll be pretty busy during january though but send me a pm when you're here anyway.
Btw is the person you're staying with, the fellow forumer, the person who you're staying with in Brussels or is it the person in Paris? Curious to know about unknown sc fans in my city

Go to a pro soccer game if you're a soccer fan. That's what I'd do at least

Buy the train passes that are valid through all of Europe (I believe this is called InterRail). It is very cheap and convenient. I suggest you visit Europe's biggest cities : London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Brussels, Berlin, Vienna, Athens... You can try couchsurfing or hostels (International Hostels card is a must-have then) for cheap accomodations. Bring your student card, you can have huge discounts with it in museums etc... Skiing can be expensive but the Alps (France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria) really have awesome resorts. I loved Norway's fjords, but I heard the most amazing fjords in the world are in... New Zealand. I have never been to eastern European countries, but friends of mine who traveled there highly recommend it. GL (and post pictures if you can!)

As for lesbian sex, convince her yourself. She's a hardcore lurker, and will probably read what you have to say.

Well it's more than just weed too =p it's just a really cool unique place to visit. plus, it's definitely mind blowing to be sitting in public smoking a doobie the size of a marker and not be running from cops!
