Maybe you guys have some weirdo component that just hates SC. will all this affinity stuff work for me when i only have one core to begin with? or would all that stuff be redundant? basically, is there a .bat file like this but for one core computers?

Mm, that affinity is just so that the game uses only on processor that´s what the number one is for I think (processors are named 0 - gazillion). So if you only have one processor I don´t see the reason/need for that affinity part. So what that .bat file really would do then is that it kills explorer and after that starts Iccuplauncher/BW so the taskbar wont mess the colours. When you quit SC it starts explorer again and also exits the .bat file with a press of enter, for convenience.

Open notepad. copy/paste: cmd.exe /C start /affinity 1 D:\"SC"\"Launcher"\"Launcher.exe" ping 127.0.0.1 -n 2 taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe ping 127.0.0.1 -n 2 cd C:\SC\StarCraft\ rem cmd.exe /C start /affinity 1 D:\"SC"\"StarCraft.exe" rem Wait for the game to quit, press Enter to continue pause start explorer.exe exit Replace those paths with what you have for said files, save as .bat file. Now when you wish to play start SC by clicking the file you created, it kills explorer until you stop playing. You can also create a shortcut of the file and make it look like SC so it looks prettier. what does "replace those paths with what you have for said files" mean? thanks!

I just noticed one thing, i always had the problem with weird colors in the game lobby and some minor color problems ingame, but i noticed that i had forgot to turn up my monitor's Hz after the format, when i turned up the Hz to what i usually have everything turned to normal again, and i haven't had any color problems since.

I use it for streaming, I set up camtasia and starcraft in one core and the encoder in another and then saved the settings with that program, I dont have to be doing that stuff over and over again. check the info here: http://www.prnwatch.com/prio.html if you go to the download area then you look for the last program at the bottom.

You can count me in, you have to deal with a German Windows 7 though :p I can confirm that it's a sound issue. If i let Winamp play MP3 streams in the background Starcraft crashes after a while. If I don't Starcraft runs fine.

Check your PCI hardware, e.g. network card. I was getting constant 0x00000124 bsod's when I upgraded to 7. Turns out the reason was because I was using an outdated driver on my Atheros AR928X that worked fine on Vista, but gave errors on win7. In particular I was using a modded Atheros driver on laptopvideo2go, and the modded INF was the issue. Updating to a newer release fixed my problems and now I can finally enjoy Win7 with no crashes! Therefore I advise updating all your drivers, not just using Windows Update but actually checking the manufacturer's website.

I reformatted to the retail release of 64bit 2 days ago so it's a clean install. I just went back to my old graphics card and I'm about to see if that works but PM me at anytime and I'll gladly surrender my computer for the greater good. I'll also PM you my msn right now.
