It was many months ago that I accidentally voted type-b over best, and thus this awesome vote (I'd like to call it divine intervention) helped propel me into spot #9 on liquibet, and so in my luck I managed to win a Blizzcon ticket after the top few decided not to go.
Fast forward to last weekend.
Part 1: the first flight
I live in Ontario, Canada, and so I bought some tickets from Orbitz (even though Maddox hates them, they had the best prices) for a 2-part flight to Anaheim, with a stop in Dallas, which is fine since I love the Dallas Cowboys.
I get to the airport just fine, got my ticket, filled out some form for the Canadian government, ate some lunch and after a few hours got on the plane. The plane ride was uneventful, other than the fact that every time the fat air attendant walked by she'd brush my arm with her fat ass (and she didn't get me my coke either yargh) and that there was a crying baby. Uneventful but bad. Still, that didn't get me down or anything.
Near the end of the captain announced the flight-transfer gates, and mentioned how we should proceed orderly and quickly so that no one gets delayed. Okay, customs is in Anaheim then. I get to Dallas, get to my gate (did not see any sign that I needed to go through customs), and everything's chipper (got a cowboys shot-glass too).
Second part of the flight was fine, spent the time reading Stephen King's Wizard and Glass (part of the Dark Tower series) and got my coke this time. I get to Anaheim and I walk out the gate. I can see the exit from there, and I look around and see like no workers since it's fairly late. I walk towards the exit trying to find some sign and walk past the point-of-no-return, and look around. Where the fuck was customs? I look around some more, and then I thought "fuck it, if they arrest me I'll have at least gone to Blizzcon first, and I'll get to miss some work if they delay me".
So anyone know where customs is? I'm pretty sure that what I did was illegal lol, but I am Canadian and crossing the border by car is simply show passport most of the time.
Actual blizzcon images/etc coming later.
edit: Flew out of Pearson in Toronto (or however you spell it).

Usually you fill out a blue form in Canada and talk to customs there.

oh wtf theres no customs thing when you fly in to the US? O _o

There is...but we have different rules for Canada I think. I'm not really sure what the differences are, but last time I was flying back Canadians didn't have to fill out a form that all the other noncitizens did.

should have passed through customs before you flew from Ontario to Dallas. Weird!

Travel between NAFTA countries tends to be a little different; some US Drivers licenses now have it with a special ID that lets you pass in and out of Canada freely.

Customs is in Canada. It is kind of weird but yeah when I went to Calgary from Las Vegas last month both times I went through customs it was in the Calgary airport.

Hm, perhaps I did go through then, some security guard asked where I was going and I said a gaming convention (for some reason he kept insisting it was a business trip...). I did go through the x-ray and signed some little form, but I assumed that was just normal practice for boarding planes since that happens every time you go into an airport.
I did not know you went through customs on Canadian side, since my permanent residence is Windsor, and when we drive through the border customs is on the American side, as well as last time I went on a trip I went through customs in America.

that's pretty weird. I know that SNA dosen't really have a great way of doing customs, so there must be a different airport for it.

The laws are kind of loose along the borders. On the news recently someone from US just got caught smuggling 234 guns into Canada, only about 30 of which got accounted for. In another word there are still ~200 handguns out there for the drug dealers to shoot at each other and innocent by-standers.
