Introduction:
Hi! I am Grobyc, I've been with TL for over a year and am loving it. I recently changed my main race to Terran and am trying to get better with it with each passing day. I was born in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, but now I live in Kelowna, B.C. If you are too lazy to read the 2 threads just linked, what I am basically doing is making micro maps for the community. This thread will be the one I add everything to instead of making single threads for every map. Of course feedback, suggestions, comments, questions, ideas, future map recommendations, appreciation, etc are all welcome. Please don't post if you just want to flame or have nothing of value to say.
So lets get started! Here are the maps so far, as well as a short description and some features of each:
+ Show Spoiler [Mutalisk Micro] +
Description:
This map is simply for practicing mutalisk micro in 3 different situations: Harassing a standard MnM base ZvT, using patrol micro against scourge ZvZ, and practicing muta-scourge vs muta-scourge battles ZvZ.
Features:
- You are provided with 22 mutalisks and 15 scourge that respawn on death. There is a reason for 22 ;D
- There iss an optional scouting drone in the corner of the map if you want to practice multitasking while microing. There is a switch you put your civilian on to activate/deactivate it.
- There is an overlord on the left side of the map solely for stacking purposes. The overlord automatically is moved back to its original spot so there is no need for switching ovies, etc. If you wish, you can use the regular slow ovies that you must move back and forth yourself.
- The map layout used was just Python.
- You change choose the difficulty: (which you can change at any time)
Easy - there are only 14 marines, 4 medics, 6 turrets
Medium - there are 24 marines, 6 medics, 8 turrets
Hard - there are 32 marines, 8 medics, 9 turrets, 2 valkyries, 1 vessel w/ irradiate
- The turrets and MnM's respawn over time so you don't have to keep restarting. (the supply depots, etc don't though)
- The Terran has stim AND range for the marines, as well as unlimited medic energy.
- There are also 6 observer slots.
- You have a dozen hatcheries which you can hotkey to macro while microing.
- The Terran starts out with 2-2 upgrades so you can adjust yours however you like to simulate 0-0 mutas vs 1-0 marines, etc.
MUTALISK MICRO MAP
+ Show Spoiler [PvZ Micro] +
Description:
This map is for practicing busting zerg expos consisting of spore sunken lurker scourge for the most part. There is a section where you can create an enemy zerg flying army to fight as well.
Features:
- Scouting probe multitasking as seen in the Muta micro map as well.
- You spawn your own units to use for your army. Units excluded here are carriers, scouts, arbiters and probes. Everything else is there(I believe).
- You select your own upgrades like in the Muta micro map. The computer starts as 2-2 for air and ground. You can set yours to match it, be higher, lower, or whatever you want. You have the choice to upgrade zealot speed, dragoon range, hallucination, maelstrom, shuttle speed, etc.
- There are 3 main zerg areas. Each area is a different difficulty. There is easy, medium(or normal, w/e you wanna call it), and hard. The different difficulties simply have more units and buildings protecting them, making it harder to attack or harass.
- The map layout is Medusa.
- In each zerg area, there is the main, natural, and mineral only expansions up and running. Altogether the zerg has 5 hatcheries, basically a common ZvP base 6-7 minutes in or so. To defend he has a number of sunken and spore colones, scourge, lurkers at his natural, and a couple groups of hydraling to defend against harass and drops.
- For the section where you create a flying zerg army, you can make a guardian/devourer army to fight a archon/HT/DA army you made for example. Try to pull off some gosu Reach(?) maelstroms or something! Once you get close enough to the enemy(the discoloured terrain outside the bridge) he moves in to attack you.
- You can reset any of the zerg areas whenever you like with your civilian.
- A human can micro against you instead of the computer(I haven't tested this function yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't currently work with my triggers)
- There are 3 observer slots(I would have had 5, but there were some major bugs and difficulties I couldn't get past so I had to revise the amount of obs)
PvZ MICRO MAP
+ Show Spoiler [TvZ Micro] +
Description:
This map is similar to the PvZ map. There are once again 3 zerg bases with different difficulty, but this time you now have Terran choices. The bases are differently layed out with different units.
Features:
- Wraiths were added in as well. There is a civilian stuck on a 2x2 piece of land near the bottom right corner which you can group your wraiths with to stack like mutas.
- The same upgrade function in the other maps were also implemented in this map.
- Like the Muta micro map, there is a huge macro section for you to practice multitasking. The units are free and disappear after they are built. The scouting worker, however, was discontinued, I kind of got lazy and started to run out of room.
- I added a section where you spawn enemy mutas if you want to practice cloning irradiates.
- Due to similar problems with the PvZ map, there are only 2 observer slots now(the anti-microer slot is still added though).
- The resetting function in this is the same as the PvZ map. Your civilian resets the bases.
TvZ MICRO MAP

Description:
This map is a set of scenarios for various Protoss pushes ZvP. It is mainly meant for managing from small to huge armies of hydra/lurker/ling, although you can add other units too if you wish. There is also a section regarding mutascourge against Protoss.
Features:
- There are 6 main scenarios for practicing standard ground micro ZvP.
Scenarios:
1 = 6 regular Zealots
2 = 11 Speedlots
3 = 15 Speedlots, 2 Archons, 1 observer
4 = 15 Speedlots, 4 HT, 1 observer
5 = 16 Speedlots, 6 Dragoons, 2 Archons, 4 HT, 2 observers
6 = 23 Speedlots, 13 Dragoons, 5 Archons, 6 HT, 3 observers
Each of these scenarios can be reset easy by your civilian. On each level there is a small(3x3) patch of dirt and snow that triggers that Protoss army into attacking you. On the creep provided by the hatcheries, you can even build sunkens and spores to visualize a Protoss attacking you!
- There is a small Protoss main based on a 2gate or 1gate tech build. You select as many Zerglings as you want and try to run around picking off stray Zealots and probes. Zerglings keep on spawning up to 6 on the green patch of grass if you keep taking them off, allowing you to use as many as you like.
- There is a section to upgrade like in the TvZ and PvZ; you can upgrade spells, weapons/armour, speed, range, etc. to visualize any different upgrade scenario(remember, you can't reverse upgrades, you have to restart the map to do that!).
- There is a section where you build your own air army to battle a small group of corsairs. This is great for cloning, practicing target fire, spreading units and weaving weak units in and out of battle to prevent death.
- There is a section where you break a Protoss main or natural with mutascourge. The natural has 2 cannons and 2 corsairs, the main has 3 cannons and 2 corsairs. Sniping the sairs with scourge while targeting cannons with muta is an effective way of busting a poorly protected Protoss base.
- Like the Muta Micro Map, there is a macro section. Everything you build from your hatcheries in this section disappears as eggs, every other hatchery on the map produces actual units.
ZvP MICRO MAP

Description:
This map is a set of scenarios for various Terran pushes in TvP. A lot a Dragoon micro is used to help you get through engagements following timing pushes in particular. Tau Cross was chosen as the map to use this time.
Features:
- There are 4 scenarios for practicing standard ground(as well as shuttle+reaver and arbiter) micro PvT.
Scenarios:
1 = The 5 Fact Timing push. You are given 12 Dragoons and 7 Zealots against 12 Vultures and 9 Siege Tanks.
2 = The FE into 3fact Timing push. You are given 6 Dragoons to defend against a set of 3 Siege Tanks, 3 Vultures, and 3 Marines.
3 = The 2 Factory push. You are given only 3 Dragoons against a Siege Tank, 2 Vultures, and 4 Marines.
4 = In this scenario, you are allowed to build up an army of your own to break a Terran defense line that stretches from his natural to his 3rd. The Terran defense consists of Spider Mines, Sieged Tanks, Vultures, Missile Turrets, and a couple Goliaths. It is obvious that you can max out and easily crush this, but the goal is to use as few units as possible and to micro them efficiently.
Each of these scenarios can be reset easy by your civilian next to the level. On the first three levels there is a long white line(of snow) that lures the Terran army into attacking you.
Every level is possible, I have beaten them all several times to make sure.
- The Terran base is quite well defended, but with caution and micro you are able to harass 3 different mineral lines.
- There is a section to upgrade to upgrade spells and attack/defense like in the other maps.
- There are numerous sections where you are able to build Protoss armies. This is so you can flank the Terran base from two fronts when attacking.
PvT MICRO MAP
What's next?:
The next maps I will be working on will be as follows:
1. TvP Micro and multitasking
2. PvP Reaver control and army management
If you are wanting a certain map to be made go ahead and ask! I've only got 2 left on the list!
edit: I've been EXTREMELY lazy and busy(but mostly lazy) and haven't updated this or worked on any maps for a while. I don't know when I will be, but sooner or later I'll get back around to it. so plz don't PM me asking when =[
