so hrm this is my last quarter @ UCSD ... I'm taking my final chem class (biochem) for my retarded ass GE requirement; taking it pass / no pass.
Class = 400 points
attendance to section = 72 quiz = 28 midterm = 100 presentation-written (of a project) = 100 presentation-oral = 100
So uh, midterm is tomorrow. I've literally never been to class, don't have the book/never looked at it. I've been to section and taken some totally useless notes.
I got uh 17 on my quiz, gonna get full attendance points. So I was kinda worried about this midterm especially because today I sat down to start studying, but then I was doing some calculations and I figured I can pass pretty easy assuming I get an A on my project (some ez 5 page paper about a biochem topic + an in-class presentation, shouldn't be too hard).
Should I be safe and try to study and maybe get like a 60% on the midterm, or should I just wing it and probably get a 40% and hope my project goes well O_O!
Poll: what should I do (Vote): 0 studying and see how I do (Vote): study and see how I do (Vote): why the fuck do they make poli sci major take biochem?
help me out here.

I don't get these questions. You pay thousands of dollars to go to school, why wouldn't you study? It takes a few hours to go over lecture notes... If you're uber lazy just skim it and try to remember the main points. And yea, why are u taking biochem? lol!

Either you get to studying right now. Or you just keep hitting f5 so you can sit here for another 2hours reading lame ass posts like this one.

biochem is easy, just look over the stuff...you dont have to study study, just read it

so you fail the course and not give two shits about it another quarter?

Well biochem is horifically boring imo (And I do chemistry fulltime =p) so I guess I understand you. How much do you need your GPA to be absolutely tip top? That should answer your question I think.

why the fuck do they make poli sci major take biochem?
fuck the system?

At least study for an hour or two, but that might be difficult if you don't have the book and your notes are useless. I studied for a few classes in college (and law school...) by Googling topics on the course outline and reading whatever results popped up because I was in the same situation.

I envy you.

why do poli sci majors even get an equivalent level degree if they'll complain about going to take biochem classes, but biochem majors have no problems taking poli sci classes?
|
dont study.
too cool for school.

Just study and see what you can do. I voted for 2 though

because in poli sci classes (and most classes that require writing in general) you can bullshit your way to a decent grade, whereas in hard sciences where there are specific and concrete answers you have to actually know shit? =P

If you are shooting for a B then you have to get 320 points. I like to think of this as 80 "screw" (being civil)off points. you have already used 11 of these 80. you now have 69(^.^) screw off points left. If you make an 80 on your presentation and paper then you have to make a 71 on your midterm. I would use an 80 on your project as a "safe grade" to dictate your potential midterm grade. You should study until you think you can make a 71 on your test.(you should always attempt to make a b in any class.)

He's taking it pass/fail. No need for a B.
