TL admins get pretty pissed when you post stuff with links and no content. If you claim as you did in your other thread that you are just in this for the love of the community and are not out to monetarize it, then why are you just making a completely useless post linking back to your site. I'm not trying to sound like a jackass, but your actions and words don't seem to match up, which makes me pretty dubious about your intentions.

Good luck, more ladder is good.

I'm doing it because a lot of people see this website and not nearly as many at Gameoutloud. It makes complete sense and I see no reason to post all the same information here when I have laid it all out in an organized thread on GoL.
I don't know what your problem is, because I'm putting my own money into this tournament so people can see good games from some great foreigner players. Yes, that is right this first tournament came out of my pocket so how on Earth do you get to the conclusion that I'm doing this for money...

Generally our policy toward linking to another website is that it's fine as long as there's content created by the other site. For example, we allow linking to other sites for interviews or videos, with only a short preview or description of the information. It'd be inappropriate for us to force users to repost their content on our forums if they worked hard on it for another site.
That said, Kenny would you have any issues with reposting the tournament information here? You wrote:

It would take someone < 1 minute to copy paste it into a GOL Invitational Results and Standings thread on TL. If the only reason is you don't want to bother doing it, we can have someone here do it. Are you okay with that?

I think, people can start a site and have the wish that the site gets known and will create an own community like TL.net and GG.net. But to fulfill this wish you need to start somewhere and have to get viewers to ur site.
I think it's possible that someone wants to have a known community site because he loves StarCraft without thinking of money.
It's GoL's event so people should get to know the GoL site for it. It's just that, if you have more hits on ur own site, ur more proud.

For instance, the NBA has its own site but all the results, player profiles, etc. are on ESPN. Does the NBA force ESPN users to go to their site? I think the same thing applies here. TeamLiquid is a heavily viewed news source for leagues and tournaments, the "ESPN" of StarCraft currently. What's wrong with posting information about all leagues on our forums? Especially if people want a centralized place to read about and discuss all the new leagues, why should they have to go 10 different sites?

What's the point of denying hundreds of users the chance to play, and then forcing the dozens you invited to grind out a ladder anyways?

I think its 24 people auto-invited to league stage, then 8 more spots open to everyone, for a total of 32 people. Don't think anyone is denied a chance to play, unless I read it wrong. The people they invited just get to skip the ladder part.

It was just the list of invites we were going to send out to the top players in case they did want to play in the tournament. If anything changes just let me know
