Oh man I used to watch that show in high school (circa 1999-2000). Sooooooooo sick. One of my favorites was the Mishima (I think it was Mishima) Beef one: cows from some random spot in Japan where they are fed a crazy diet that makes the meat incredibly marbled with fat.
Edit: FU-KWEE-SAN?

I remember Hiroyuki Sakai made fish ice cream and the judges dubbed it inedible.

The guy that did the English dubbing now announces baseball in English for the Rakuten Eagles on a new digital TV station in Japan. The first time I heard his voice I almost fell out of my chair.
Also, I have written the story many times if you search, but I proposed to my wife in an Iron Chef restaurant

Ten years back or so, when I couldn't sleep, I used to stay up for hours watching Iron Chef. (they had it at 2am or 4am or something I think, on some channel I can't remember)
Oh man, the English narration was so awesome. I truly felt that I was not only watching cooking, not only watching a culinary sport... but I was watching history in the making.
edit: I remember there was this awesome fish thing where the narrator was doing his best to explain how awesome the fish being used was. It was like... this fish is super fresh, super expensive, the best of the best fish, taken right out of the waters, the best catch, so big you won't find them ever again, super rare, etc.

Wasn't there a japanese show where bunch of celebreties are on 2 teams and they watch 2 chefs cook something similiar like French Toast vs Pancakes. And they each have a special ingredients they get. And in the end they all vote for the food they want to eat, and only the winners get to eat the food while the losers just watch. I loved that show, what was it called again?

Its called every single show that is on every single fucking day. Seriously.

Lol god yes I would watch this show with my family like every single night. I remember one of the side commentators would always interrupt the main commentator and say, "FUKISAN!?" and the main commentator would always respond, "Yes Ota?" every like 2 minutes for 30 minutes. It was hilarious.
If you watched the show you know what I'm talking about

It is a cooking show where a pro chef comes on to "challenge" one of the show chefs (who are called iron chefs). They are given a theme ingredient and one hour to make original dishes. Then celebrities judge it.
The original show was Jpaanese, and has since been dubbed into English. Find it on Youtube. There are also crappy USA versions.

Iron Chef is awesome. No other way to say it. "Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are". ~Brillat-Savarin The intro also rocked. With the music, and Kaga stepping out of darkness to bite a pepper.

Yeah, iron chef america sucks; the original was so great. I'm going to have to go back and watch some of those episodes now O.O.
I think the only good thing on Iron Chef america was Alton Brown and the Ice Cream machines (seeing all the stuff the Japanese would throw in those).

I must watch all of these episodes now. :O

My favorite is the fish battle between Sakai and the old man sushi master. The challenger made a sashimi platter that was like 3 ft in diameter. I think I cried...
and Sakai ftw!!!! He was the best one.

I don't remember who it was, or even what the ingredient was anymore, but I liked the one where the guy went without assistants, and so the iron chef did too. I think it was some guy from a noodle stand though?
