Holy crap.
Anyone else feel completely bored with life? Every day it's wake up, go to classes, go back to my dorm room, chill, do homework, w/e. It all seems so boring and repetative. I don't give a shit about my classes except for one. My group of friends here are alright but we don't really do much other than hang out to watch the bball game or a movie or play video games. I go to the gym 5 days a week, but I can't call that fun. Even the weekends are boring unless I end up gettin w some girl.
I'm bored with the internet. Every day I end up surfing the same 3-5 sites for hours on end. 95% of tv is shit.
I smoke weed every day because it's better than doing nothing.
Anyone have any suggestions as to how to break out of this funk? In anticipation of the first few replies:
"Get a girlfriend" Easier said than done. But yes this is a priority. Unfortunately I don't know how to introduce myself to women outside of party settings.
"Join a club" I've looked through the club listings at my school. There are a couple that look somewhat interesting (video game club, a political club) but I don't care enough to actually join them and put the time in. I am open to suggestions though.
"Stop smoking so much weed" I would if I had a good reason to.
Sigh.

Be ambitious and start a project. Long term bigass project. Like, decide to teach yourself C++ or something. I know lots of people who were bored and ambitious and started their own newspapers, or started major blogs, or whatever.
If you don't have goals, create them! =D

STOP SMOKING WEED!

Every day I end up surfing the same 3-5 sites for hours on end. consider that your life is more interesting than mine by about 2-4 sites
Also, how is clubbing/dances not a good way to meet girls? You go with one or two buddies, dance with some girl and ask her like 2-3 questions then just get her number once you are done dancing with her. Then get the girls you just met and go to a kickback at someone's place. ezpzlmnsqze

Boredom means it is too easy. Make your life more challenging, whether if it is through your education, or some other means.

Pick up a hobby. Things that interest you that you can work at to improve.
For me, my two main ones are photography and SC...haha. Those two combined take up more time than I have when I'm particularly active.

Learn a new language or learn to write with your other hand. When you're bored, might as well be productive, eh?

That about sums up my current life right now. A new hobby is probably the way to go, I was really in to grappling and MMA training until my sister totalled my car and now I currently can't afford my gym fees.

Yeah probably you should get a gf. I suggest not introducing yourself to a women formally, that is just too awkward. I find the easiest way to meet random girls, in class for example, is just to make a random, everyday comment. For example, if you just had a test, ask "how did you find that test". Or hell, even start off slower. Just asking her something about the course or the situation like "did you write down that last note? can I see it?", or even some impersonal comment like "that was a better lecture than usual", opens up the doors @ least. Then the next time you see her, you can talk to her without seeming awkward. Hell, don't even ask for her name for a long time, just keep it simple. It won't get you a gf in the moment, but it opens doors. That is definitely the easiest way to meet girls I find. You can do it in class, you don't have to prepare or anything, it's not formal @ all so it's very comfortable, and it's just the simplest way to meet a girl without any effort.

I mean if some girl is willing to grind up on me, some random dude as far as she's concerned, she's probably willin to grind up on most guys and I haven't found girls that way that I'd want to start a real relationship with.

I was training BJJ for a while at my school but lost the motivation. At least you have a good excuse for not training.. GL gettin back on track.

Appreciate the advice.. I know all the stuff I should be doin, and you're right it shouldn't be that hard, but I have trouble actually pullin the trigger in the real world. It's pathetic but I'm usually too much of a chump to put myself out there in a social setting. Occasionally it'll just come naturally and I can spark a conversation from there, but yea.. I need to work on that. Unfortunately no amount of support from TL can be a substitute for actually puttin yourself out there.
Bah.

It's how I feel, but that's mainly because I'm currently in the Long Dark Teatime of the High School Soul - aka that time as a second semester senior before college acceptances/rejections come back in April.
Playing this waiting game really sucks. -yawn-
