00:21
NaDa: Why am I the only one here… (from his team at the MSL)
00:24
ZerO: He only showers when he occasionally goes out when on vacation or when there’s a game (Referring to teammate Free, implying he doesn’t shower)
free[gm]: When we go back home you’re dead~
ZerO: But I’m telling the truth~
Free proceeds to tease Zero about his height as revenge (since Zero is short)
ZerO: Yes, I must grow taller
Kal: I recently measured, and it came out to be 188 cm (around 6’2”-6’3”)
00:35 (shows how Kal is much taller than Free)
ZerO: It’s good… especially after he (Free) was making fun of me about my height so much. *Scoff
00:42 (showing filming of the MSL opening)
UpMagiC: I’m not going to do anything too showy…
00:54
firebathero: I’m busy right now… please don’t bother me.
(then shows him playing with the PSP he won last time)
01:09
Kwanro: I don’t really have much to film…
Iris: Now, attack! Pikachu!
Iris: I’ll stoop down~ get up
Kwanro: I don’t want to get full body shots
01:23
YellOw[ArnC] (known for not showering often): If I were to shower often [since the bathroom is so small] there would be more teammates who wouldn’t be able to wash because of me.
So it’s CONSIDERATION! (Yellow says yes to a chorus of HEY)
OGN Sparkyz's Coach: Yellow! Why is it that you always say weird things when the camera is on you?
Canata: I’m the Survivor King! (to Yellow)
01:40
Much talks about how he escaped doing an interview, but he knows it’s okay because “nothing will change just because I didn’t do one”
Bisu: [I don’t get this] Should go fall into the Han River and die…
02:20 – Introductions – Talking about how last time with Bisu’s victory, that signaled the beginning of the Toss Golden Age – now wondering if this MSL will also prove to be full of Tosses excelling. Also they say that KTF MagicNs players are the only players not in the opening because they were busy. Then explaining Steal Draft and how it works. Then mentions how the players who do the most fan service will receive prizes (computer / mp3 player / Nintendo DS)
Woman announcer: Mentions the prizes and how there are high expectations for Firebathero, Free, and Ruby because they won the prizes last time (Free and Ruby getting the best ones) Nintendo DS will go to the players with the best ceremonies, Mp3 player will be given to the best provoker and a laptop (Samsung Netbook) will be given to the best talker.
07:17 – 16th seed
It’s Flash!
Talking about how it’s a shame he hasn’t really shined at the MSL thus far considering how talented he is; saying how this is his opportunity, also since he is known as being good against the 6 dragons.
08:22 – 15th seed
It’s Much!
Much has said he is not in a slump, proved it by emerging out of the Survivor tournament; this MSL is his opportunity to show he is still a dominant force in the SC scene. There was even a fan that showed up at 6 a.m. for him – therefore he must play even harder to do well.
09:12 – 14th seed
It’s fOrGG!
Has won a MSL title before – therefore can wear this confident expression and look forward to this MSL. He specifically requested this music! It would have been a great performance if he had danced as well but it looks as though he didn’t prepare that far. But the music does fit him well~ Looks like he’s smirking on those masks~ will he be able to wear that same expression at that MSL?
10:10 – 13th seed
It’s Jaedong!
Heralded as the best zerg right now. Was in a slump but as fitting to a top zerg, he has swung back and has been showing great games again. Though he shows great performance in games, looks like he won’t be showing us a great ceremony – but we can’t expect everything right?
11:04 – 12th seed
It’s Sea!
He has quite a history with the MSL – making it the 32nd round, 16th, 32nd, 16th, back and forth over and over, he must really want to advance further this particular MSL.
11:42 – 11th seed
It’s Canata!
Became known as the Survivor King after beasting there. Though truth be told, he doesn’t have such a hot history at the MSL – similar to Sea in going back and forth with 32nd / 16th round. Just like Sea, he must want to advance further this MSL.
12:32 – 10th seed
It’s Hwasin!
You can immediately tell he prepared something!
12:58
(Imitating Rain) He’s become a singer! He came at 3:00 pm to prepare for this! This is certainly a new appearance. He is really feeling the music’s rhythm. Fans are collapsing! Though he has been in a bit of a slump, he’s been trying to pick himself up through these individual leagues. He usually wasn’t the type to show ceremonies like this but after Firebathero set the precedent, it seems Hwasin properly prepared this MSL.
14:05 – 9th seed
It’s sAviOr!
Has an illustrious history with MSL with 3 titles under his belt – last time got knocked out in the 32nd round unfortunately, but hopefully this time he will be better. Everyone has a lot of high expectations for him for 2009.
14:50 – 8th seed
It’s YellOw[ArnC]!
The mutalisk controller! We hoped he would do a ceremony for us but I guess those hopes were to no avail. Has not gone past 8th round – therefore will really want to do well this time. If he just utilizes his skills he may be able to establish his name at this Lost Saga MSL.
15:35 – 7th seed
It’s NaDa!
Did he prepare something?
16:02
Ah, yes! He did prepare a tough ceremony! Highly wondering/anticipating what this incredible player has in store for us this time at the MSL! Skill genius! Effort genius!
16:38 – 6th seed
It’s Stork!
Oh~ he has Lost Saga on his uniform! Must mean that this Lost Saga is HIS, will be his! Since he had that badge on his uniform, I guess he didn’t need any other ceremony.
17:31 – 5th seed
It’s firebathero!
17:45
Ah~ he’s saying that the prize is always his, though this time it’s a bit hard to tell with Hwasin’s flashy ceremony. Now his ceremonies aren’t even surprising – as always, his ceremonies are receiving a lot of attention. It feels like there’s still something left – this is not the end! He really is an entertaining player!
18:24
he’s really competing with Hwasin!
18:59 – 4th seed
It’s Kal!
Instead of showing us some ceremony, his calm walking stature is what he’s showing. For this player – his plays are his ceremony!
19:41 – 3rd seed
It’s free!
He won a prize last time for his ceremony – did he prepare something this time? Is he only thinking about it in his head? I guess he is just being calm this time. He is one of the 6 dragons so I’m sure we can anticipate a lot from him this MSL.
20:38 – 2nd seed
It’s JangBi!
He must really want to win this MSL after getting so close. Last time he showed a slight ceremony but this time he shows a simple entrance. This player may look the same as he has in the past, but his plays are continually amazing.
21:24 – 1st seed
It’s Bisu!
Seems he’s even trying to win the ceremonies this time (on top of the MSL)~ He’s arguably the best protoss right now and a lot of people consider him the favorite this MSL as well!
22:30
Announcers: Wow, it is intense! Yes, and for these players to show such illustrious ceremonies, it can only mean hard practice was behind those as well!
23:25
Announcers: Now we will see the players 17~32! It will definitely get more interesting here on out.
24:11 – 17th seed
It’s UpMagiC!
He pops out as soon as the curtain opens! He’s showing magic~ oh~ death paper! He’s trying to set it on fire!
25:04
Puts his name next to Yellow[arnc]. Guess it makes sense as his zerg play is good lately.
UpMagiC: I have confidence in my zerg play and searched for a zerg name and saw YellOw[ArnC]’s name so I put my name next to his.
He is becoming infamous for his great mech plays.
25:54 – 18th seed
It’s Kwanro!
Looks like there’s no ceremony. Oh- looks like his one ceremony is his fist.
26:34
Puts his name next to Bisu. Wow!!! Putting his name next to the previous MSL victor!
Kwanro: I thought my name was going to be switched around anyway so I just put it in the spot that stood out the most.
Announcers: There was a game in the past where you beat Bisu at Andromeda – did you think of that?
Kwanro: Actually, during practice games, this may be just my own thoughts but I think against protoss I am as good as Jaedong, so I am confident.
27:38 – 19th seed
It’s RuBy!
Oh wow, he is good looking even when sleepy! Wow he really is so goodlooking it’s hard to accept. Let’s remember he has received an award for best ceremony in the past.
28:30
Puts his name next to Hwasin. Is this a battle between two goodlooking people?
RuBy: There was an instance where I lost to Hwasin in the MSL, and also Hwasin is goodlooking so I thought it would attract an audience.
Announcers: So who do you think is better looking of the two of you? (Audience members shout Ruby’s name) Have some confidence! (Ruby stays silent) Well if Ruby were the older one he would’ve probably said, “Me!” but yes, those two are very goodlooking.
29:31 – 20th seed
It’s Iris!
Showing good performances at the MSL lately, anticipating a lot from him. Unfortunately, his last two runs at the MSL were both cut off at the 16th round.
30:12 Picks Forgg.
Announcers: Looks like the spot he wanted was taken… who were you intending on placing it next to?
Iris: I originally wanted to place my name next to Hwasin.
Announcers: Why did you want to pick Hwasin?
Iris: Because I’m confident against him.
Announcers: So although you originally wanted to pick Hwasin, since you picked Forgg 2nd, does that mean you are also confident with him?
Iris: Yes, he is the person I’m confident with 2nd.
Announcers: Yes, it seems Iris is really confident with his terran play.
31:10 – 21st seed
It’s Luxury!
Though he hasn’t won MSL yet, he has won the WCG, so we hope he will be able to show a more powerful performance this season.
32:05 Picks Sea.
Luxury: Just looking at the board, there was no one I particularly wanted to verse. But I’ve been falling behind head-to-heads with Sea, so in an attempt to catch up with him, I put my name there.
Announcers: If you’re behind, it means there’s that chance you can fall even further behind, but you’re saying you’re confident you can win and catch up?
Luxury: Yes.
33:00 – 22nd seed
It’s FrOzean!
Honestly speaking he hasn’t been doing so well so there weren’t high expectations for him, but he has still made it this far in this MSL so we are anticipating how well he will do.
33:58 Picks Nada.
FrOzean: Last season I lost in the 16th round and after that fell into a slump, and I also felt like a showed a disappointing performance so if I were to verse him again I want to show a better performance to win.
Announcers: So you want to erase those bad memories from last season by winning this time.
34:47 – 23rd seed
It’s go.go!
He received the provoker award last time! He’s said that recently there hasn’t been anyone that has provoked him so he’s been calm, but if someone provokes him today he’ll show them up. Yes, he has had that provocative image since his first debut in the MSL.
35:19 Picks firebathero. Firebathero is sighing.
go.go: I saw him, and I just didn’t like him.
Announcers: What don’t you like about him? Which part do you hate most?
go.go: Just when I saw him, I just didn’t like something about him. So in an attempt to knock him out (he put his name next to firebathero).
Announcers: Can you be more specific – is it his talking or his physical actions you don’t like?
go.go: Well, there’s those things too, but I just don’t like him.
Announcers: Wow, yes, we can tell for sure that you don’t like him. He’s saying he just doesn’t like Firebathero as a person!
36:46 – 24th seed
It’s fantasy!
He’s doing well lately and rising as one of the most prominent terrans lately. Unfortunately, he hasn’t done well in the MSL in the past so he must have practiced hard for this season.
37:17 Picks Much.
Announcers: Wow, Fantasy, most players spend some time thinking, but you picked Much right away, why?
fantasy: I came here thinking it didn’t matter who I versed, so I just put my name where my hand went.
Announcers: So you haven’t had a single win at MSL so far, but do you think Much is an easy candidate for a victory?
fantasy: It’s not like that, but I just thought it didn’t matter who I versed when I came here to play.
38:08 – 25th seed
It’s ZerO!
When he first debuted in the MSL, he was still a relative youngn’, but now he has emerged as one of his teams Aces, so this season is a good opportunity for him to get his name out there as one of the prominent Zergs around. He’s always been in Group A in the past and had no luck…
38:40 Picks Flash. And he picks Group A again!
ZerO: This is my 3rd time at the MSL, and the last 2 times I was in Group A, and since names are going to get switched around anyway, I just decided to put my name in Group A from the start.
Announcers: So it was because of your feelings for Group A, not any particular interest in Flash?
ZerO: Well… I figured since things were going to change later anyway, I didn’t really put much more thought into it and stuck my name there.
Announcers: If things don’t change, will you still not care with players like Flash and Bisu in your group?
ZerO: Well, I don’t think I will particularly care / it won’t change things.
Announcers: Oh~ seems like confidence.
39:40 – 26th seed
It’s Tempest!
He showed amazing control of dragoons in the Survivor tournament.
40:10 Picks Canata.
Tempest: Well I wanted to play firebathero or go.go who are in the same group so I put my name there, and I don’t have any particular feelings against Canata. I want a rematch with firebathero.
Announcers: So you’re saying your primary focus is firebathero?
Tempest: Yes.
Announcers: Why firebathero? Is it because of the past game?
Tempest: Yes.
Announcers: Well, if it’s about the past, then what about go.go?
Tempest: His name just stood out to me so I was interested.
Announcers: Well it’s for certain that firebathero is his main goal. It seems he has a lot he wants to repay to firebathero. You can show a similar ostentatious ceremony if you win Tempest!
41:27 – 27th seed
It’s Leta!
It seems he’s prepared a lot! Flowers! And what is that flower on his back for? Originally he planned to buy more flowers but he was shocked at how expensive they were so didn’t buy as much.
42:11 Looks like he’s looking for someone! (Gives flower to woman announcer)
42:43 Picks Stork.
Announcers: How much did you spend?
Leta: It’s a secret.
Announcers: Well either way, you spent a lot of money right.
Leta: Yes, I spent a lot…
Announcers: Why did you pick Stork?
Leta: I wanted to play Stork. I think he is the best of the 6 dragons so yea.
Announcers: Oh wow, that is a big statement! With Bisu here and all. Bisu must feel upset hearing that. If Stork is the best, who is second best of the dragons?
Leta: Bisu.
Announcers: Then who is the last dragon? (worst dragon)
Leta: I haven’t thought that far.
Announcers: It seems he’s only thought about dragons he thought he wanted to play/matched up to.
He is the proleague’s dark horse, showing amazing play. We only have the highest expectations for him here at the MSL.
44:24 – 28th seed
It’s DoctorK!
He’s loved the Wondergirls. Has he prepared anything this time? Oh, yes, it looks like his love for the wondergirls hasn’t changed.
44:59 Picks Free.
DoctorK: Well my teammates are in each of the other groups, so I didn’t really think too much and just wanted to avoid my teammates.
Announcers: Well DoctorK what rank do you think Free is among the 6 dragons?
DoctorK: I… I think they are all the same.
Announcers: Yes, the easy answer: I love both my mom and dad. (referring to how the easy answer when asked who you prefer – your mom or dad, is to say that you love both of them)
46:07 – 29th seed
It’s maGma!
Honestly speaking, his performances before the survivor tournament were so bad it was hard to expect him to make it through, but showing great skill he was able to make it through and make his first appearance at the MSL. Wow doesn’t it look like he’s going to beat someone up? Yes, his expression is his ceremony!
46:33 Picks Jangbi.
maGma: Just, there was nowhere I really wanted to go, and there weren’t many spots I could go to anyway, so I just put it anywhere.
Announcers: Even the way he talks is a ceremony! So Magma, who do you particularly want to face this season?
maGma: I just want to play any one of the 6 dragons.
Announcers: Well 5 out of the 6 are here, but if you had to choose, which of the 5 would you pick?
maGma: Bisu.
Announcers: Oh~~ Bisu!! (47:25: Bisu shakes his head LOL.) Okay, well we’ll see if the match plays out this way.
47:46 – 30th seed
It’s Horang2!
He’s a player who’s limit we have yet to see! He’s been doing really well thus far – only time will tell if he’ll continue to do as well this MSL. He looks like a cute Horangee (Korean for tiger). He has an interesting style so I definitely think he is a protoss to watch out for this season.
48:18 Picks Kal.
Horang2: I am pretty confident in the mirror matchup and wanted to verse one of the 6 dragons and the spot next to Kal’s was open so I picked him.
Announcers: Well based on stats alone, Bisu and Stork are ahead of the other dragons, so because those two dragons seem stronger did you pick Kal?
Horang2: Oh no, I think the 6 dragons are all the same.
49:33 – 31st seed
It’s by.hero!
It’s his first MSL appearance. He’s been doing well so far.
50:12 Picks Savior.
by.hero: In the past I learned a lot from watching Savior’s plays, so now I want a chance to play him.
Announcers: So you’re kind of like the Maestro kid~ are you confident in playing Savior?
by.hero: Yes, I want to play him.
51:19 – 32nd seed
It’s Hyuk!
Finally, he has reached the red carpet he’s dreamed of (1st MSL appearance). Though he hasn’t had such a great image thus far, he has the chance to turn that all around at this MSL.
51:45 Picks Jaedong.
Announcers: Hyuk, out of the 31 other players, who is the easiest to deal with? (silence) Is there no one you think is easy?
Hyuk: Yes, there isn’t really anyone.
Announcers: Then who do you really want to play? (silence) Again is there no one? I guess you don’t. Then are you confident in playing anyone?
Hyuk: Yes.
Announcers: I was starting to think you weren’t confident. It’s good that he is confident.
53:20: Talking about matches they wish would progress without changes – one announcer wants firebathero vs. go.go to go as planned because it seems like something is really going to explode in that match.
Nal_ra: I think all these matches seem really interesting.
53:49 Making fun of Forgg and his fans haha. (Forgg bursts out)
Announcers: Yes, he can’t hold it in. Truthfully, it is really hard to stifle laughter. Please smile for us refreshingly. Oh, well okay.
54:37
NaDa gets award for playing over 200 games in MSL.
Congratulations!
00:45
Deciding who had the best ceremonies
00:50
Woman MC: These 2 people were really amazing. Our first pick is Hwasin!
01:42
Woman MC: Before when you were wearing your sunglasses, I really thought Rain (the singer) had arrived! Can you show us one more time? A lot of people want to see. (Hwasin whispers something) Ah~ he says he needs his sunglasses to do it.
Announcer: Yes, it seems since there are so many people in front of him he’d be too embarrassed to do it otherwise.
02:00
Hwasin: Is there no music?
Woman MC: Oh he’s asking if there is any music!
Announcer: The music is ready!
02:10
Announcer: Wow he can even do it with his eyes closed if he wanted to. It seems there’s no music – oh it’s ready.
02:22
Announcer: He really rides the rhythm well.
03:08
Announcer: Wow Firebathero must feel uncomfortable seeing Hwasin win this award (since Firebathero usually wins the ceremony awards). There’s still one prize left though~
Woman MC: This second prize winner seems to really know women hearts well! This is Leta!
03:40
Announcer: Looks like he still has that flower in his hair.
03:51
Announcer: Seems like he already knew he was going to win with his preparation.
04:08
Announcer: Oh~ look at firebathero and go.go’s expressions!
Woman MC: You gave a lot of fans and me flowers~ Did you spend all your allowance?
Leta: Yes… I really spent my allowance dry…
Woman MC: Wow he spent it dry!
Leta: Yes, I’m glad that as much as I invested, I was able to get the Nintendo DS (laughs)
Woman MC: Got his money’s worth with the Nintendo DS!
Leta: I’m just kidding, but I wanted to show a good image to my fans like this so I’m happy.
Woman MC: Yes, it was a good appearance. Please show off the Nintendo to your fans!
06:00
Woman MC: We did a series of interesting questions with all 32 players – I will start revealing those answers one by one.
06:15
Woman MC: The first question was – Who has the most intense gaze?
06:29
Announcers: It seems the fans are yelling out Jaedong’s name.
06:33
Woman MC: I will start by revealing the 3rd place winner. This person got 2 votes – it is Savior! 2nd place winner got 4 votes – it is the goodlooking Bisu!
Announcer: Well if 2nd and 3rd place got 6 votes that isn’t much at all – it means there was an overwhelming majority!
Woman MC: Yes, there is a person who is 1st – thus far, I’ve never seen someone who’s received such an alarming majority! 19 votes for intense gaze! Jaedong!
07:45
Jaedong: Ah, well, I guess it’s probably because I’m concentrating/focusing so hard when I’m playing so it came off that way… but I’m honestly not sure if this is such a good thing. I’ll just be happy that I won something.
Announcer: Yes, it is important to intimidate someone with just your eyes! Now, can you show us that same intimidating gaze right now!!
08:15 – (Jaedong just smiles and looks flustered)
Announcer: Ah, yes, looks like he can only do it during a real game. Well, then instead – Jaedong, show us your cute face!
08:29 – (Jaedong looks even more flustered and seems to wipe sweat off his face)
Announcer: Ah, yes he is cute.
08:50
Woman MC: If I were a progaming coach, which player would I want to have? Wow, players ranked 1-3 would feel very good! 3rd rank – Ah, it is last seasons runner up with 3 votes~ Jangbi!
Woman MC: 2nd rank got 6 votes! Wow, this is not surprising as he is the best zerg nowadays~ Jaedong!
Woman MC: 1st rank – again not surprising at all, it is last season’s winner, Bisu with 8 votes!
09:58
Announcer: Bisu, who did you pick for this question?
Bisu: I picked myself.
Announcer: So one of those 8 votes was yourself!
Bisu: Well, out of the questions, I thought some were me so I just picked myself, but thank you so much for the many votes.
Announcer: Then if you had to pick one of the 6 dragons to have as a player, who would it be?
Bisu: They all play well, but if I had to pick, I would pick Stork.
Announcer: Ah I see, why is Sea acting like that? Sea, who did you pick for this question?
Sea: I picked DoctorK.
Announcer: Why?
Sea: He’s the terran killer.
Announcer: Ah, so that’s why you picked DoctorK.
11:25
Woman MC: I will reveal the other questions and results in the 3rd part, and you can highly anticipate those as they will be a bit more interesting and provocative~ Please stay tuned!
11:56 – Now the steal draft will start with ranks 16~9! Who knows how the names will be switched around!
12:48 – Flash 16th seed - choice
Announcer: Right now, you are in Group A and next to Zero. Who will you choose?
Flash: Please take me out and move me next to Bisu.
Announcer: Oh! He’s in the same group! Why?
Flash: Well there are the losses I’ve suffered lately... Also, Bisu is the best nowadays and it doesn’t seem there is anyone who can take him down so I want to do that. Also, I feel like there are a lot of people who would be interested in our match.
Announcer: Ah, so you don’t see anyone else who can take him down, and since Bisu is the best you want to defeat him first, right? Yes, you have been suffering some losses to Bisu lately, is that your biggest reason to pick him?
Flash: Yes, I have the personality where I can’t live with losing to someone, so I must get revenge.
Announcer: Now let’s listen to Bisu’s perspective.
Bisu: Flash doesn’t really lose to protoss lately so I wanted to play him too, and recently I did have one win but I don’t think there’s any reason to hurriedly have a rematch… but still I guess it would be an interesting matchup… I’ll think about it for now.
Announcer: So it seems that Bisu wasn’t really considering choosing to play Flash… we’ll find out later.
15:25 – Much 15th seed - choice
Announcer: Your 5th time at the MSL! We want to hear how you’ve been preparing!
Much: Well, I won’t say it through words, but rather show it through my performance.
Announcer: Right now, do you like who you’re next to? (Fantasy)
Much: Take me off and put me in Group G next to Nada.
Announcer: Why?
Much: Nada is someone I’ve always respected and it’s also been a while since I’ve played him.
Announcer: So you’ve also picked him because you think you have a good chance at beating him too, right?
Much: Oh no, it’s not like that.
Announcer: So since Nada has a lot of name value, it seems you’ve picked him, right?
Much: Yes, he does have a lot of name value.
Announcer: Hm, well there are a lot of great players lately with high name value but it seems among those Much has chosen Nada. We hope you will show a great performance at this MSL. Oh yes, there was someone who showed up at 6 a.m. to cheer for you, did you know that?
Much: Oh no, at first I didn’t know, but later when I found out I was shocked. Looks like she’s lowered her head.
Announcer: Can you say something for her?
Much: The weather is cold, you must have suffered; please don’t catch a cold!
Announcer: Yes, it’s because of things like this that Much is noted. Yes, she waited since 6 a.m., though she later admitted to also liking Bisu. (Much laughs)
17:28 – fOrGG 14th seed - choice
Announcer: Lately protoss are wreaking havoc. You said in an interview that you will destroy them all~ what are your feelings towards the dragons?
fOrGG: Truthfully… I was pretty good against protoss, but after losing to one specific toss player, I’ve lost almost all the games since then. So I decided I will choose that player.
Announcer: So you’re in Group D right now, what will you pick?
fOrGG: Please switch me and Leta.
Announcer: Oh~ so you put yourself next to Stork! Explain?
fOrGG: I lost in the WCG to Stork, and last season’s MSL I lost to Stork, and after that I just lost to all protoss. So since Stork has good terran play, I’m hoping that with a victory against him I will be able to pick up my protoss play as well.
Announcer: So you picked him to get revenge. Stork what do you think? How do you feel about Forgg?
Stork: I’m not sure.
Announcer: When you won against Forgg were you happy?
Stork: Not really.
Announcer: Hm… usually a victory means a player should be happy, so why weren’t you happy?
Stork: Well my original thought was that I should definitely win…
Announcer: So when you won it didn’t make you especially happy or anything.
Stork: Yes.
Announcer: Yes, it seems the person who does the hitting usually doesn’t remember while for the victim who’s hit the memory is fresh. Then Stork, thus far, which victory against a player made you the happiest?
Stork: Fantasy.
Announcer: Woah, he’s stuttering as he said that! Why?
Stork: Because I won the title (OSL) through that game.
Announcer: Ah, so it’s not so much because of the player but because of the end result of your victory. So Forgg, do you think that Stork is the best of the 6 dragons?
20:33 – Camera shows a fansign showing “Bisu’s Men”, pictures of him with Savior, Fantasy, Stork, and Hyuk.
fOrGG: Yes, I think it’s Stork.
Announcer: Ah, no surprise that he thinks the person who beat him is the best of the 6 dragons.
21:20 – Jaedong 13th seed – choice
Announcer: Yes, we’ve seen some great queen play from him lately. Right now you are next to Hyuk; what will you decide to do?
Jaedong: Well, first take my name off, and put me in Group F next to firebathero (switch with go.go)
Announcer: Why?
Jaedong: Truthfully, it’s not something I REALLY want to do, but I heard it’s not good to not move so after some thought, I realized I’m kind of behind firebathero in head-to-heads, and I thought I could beat him this MSL, so I just picked him.
Announcer: Well it’s honestly quite hard to win against firebathero once you’ve lost to him, so you must speak with great confidence when you say you’ll beat him this MSL.
Jaedong: Well, I guess there’s that chance that this can make things worse, but I think playing him is better than avoiding him.
Announcer: Then let’s hear firebathero’s perspective.
firebathero: I was actually going to drag Jaedong’s name next to mine. I’m thankful that he’s creating another chance for a matchup. I wanted to play him. I noticed that after he played me, he went into a slight slump but then sprung back again. So, this time when I beat him, I will send him all the way down to hell.
Announcer: Oh wow, strong statement. What do you say to this Jaedong?
Jaedong: I feel good. I just want to play the game as soon as possible.
Announcer: (to firebathero) So after winning games, you’re known for your ceremonies. It seems your ceremonies have psychological impacts on your opponents, and if you win against Jaedong, just as you showed in your win against Savior, do you have plans to show a similar showy ceremony?
firebathero: Of course. If someone provokes me first, I think returning the favor is only right. So this time, after I win against Jaedong and send him to Hell, I will shut the door on top of him as well.
Announcer: Wow, close the hatch door. So who do you think is the best zerg lately?
firebathero: Jaedong.
Announcer: Ah, so you acknowledge his talent, then proceed to say that you will send him to hell and shut the door. Well when we see the game, we’re sure things will happen accordingly to the results so we hope that this matchup will not change.
25:17 – Sea 12th seed – choice
Announcer: So as we’ve said before with your history of 32nd/16th round at the MSL, you must not be so pleased with that.
Sea: Yea.
Announcer: How do you think you will do this season? Do you think you can make it to the 8th round?
Sea: Yes, this time I am out of the other individual league so I will have a lot of time to practice.
Announcer: Then who do you think would be your toughest opponent?
Sea: Stork.
Announcer: A couple of days ago, Stork said he didn’t want to meet you either.
(I don’t get this part…)
Announcer: (to stork) Do you want to play him because he’s gotten better or because you’ve won against him so many times you just doesn’t want to play him anymore.
Stork: Well, I’ve just played against him many times even in practice… (don’t get this part sorry)
Announcer: Oh~ they’re sitting together the same way they are arranged on the poster! Is that on purpose?
Sea: Well I’m close with Stork.
Announcer: So what do you choose to do?
Sea: Please move me next to Free in Group D.
Announcer: Free is one of the 6 dragons~ why?
Sea: Our team has lost many times to WoongJin in proleague… and the scenario is always that we lose to Free in the Ace match… so I always wondered why… also it seems that Free is neglected the most out of the 6 dragons.
Announcer: So you’re saying that since Free is already a bit neglected with this victory you plan on stomping him out of the 6 dragons?
Sea: I’ve lost to Free many times… but honestly last time (at some other event), I was seriously so close to beating Free 7-0, so I was wondering why I always lose to Free in the Proleague. So I want to verse him in the MSL since I feel like I’ll lose to him again if I play him in the Proleague~
Sea: Was I too direct?
Announcer: No, let’s hear Free’s side now. What do you think of Sea?
free: Well, it wasn’t the matchup I had in mind while on the way here… well I’m close to Sea, and to see him provoking me like that… *sighs
Announcer: Wow, it seems you’ve really hit a nerve. You’ve hit a dragon’s nerve.
Sea: Free is not speaking a lot so now I feel really sorry… but it’s because (Sea choosing to provoke Free) even though I’m close with Free, my coaches hate him, because he wins so many of the Ace matches.
Announcer: So you want to get revenge for your team and also win against him individually.
Sea: I’m sorry Free hyung. (hyung is a Korean term for older brother – he actually used it everytime he referred to Free and Stork but I just didn’t put it)
Sea: Stork neglects/doesn’t think highly of Free!
Stork: When did I say that??
Sea: Whenever I see him he says how he’s beat Free even using Zerg.
Announcer: Stork do you think Free shouldn’t be part of the 6 dragons? Honestly?
Stork: Well firstly… beating Free with zerg… that’s the truth. It’s not so much recently but I won against him a lot in the past, so since then I’ve always been teasing/neglectful of Free.
Announcer: So you’re saying that this isn’t something that recently started, but you’ve been like that to him since the past. It’s not something new.
Stork: Yes.
free: I have something to say. Stork told me he was facing Sea and he added a little “k” (k is Korean letter that signifies laughter). He liked that he was facing Sea (implying Stork thinks Sea is easy)
Sea: I came here while sleeping, and I actually had a dream that I was playing Stork. The map was rushhour, and protoss don’t really come out, but for some reason I thought he would come out. But yea, he did end up coming out.
free: So in the past, I played zerg against Stork (who played zerg too) and helped Stork when he was going to play Rumble (zerg in SKT). And honestly, out of 5 games I won at least 1 game. (people laugh) It’s because he keeps talking about only his wins~
Stork: The important part is I only lost one game, but I think I won at least 20 games.
Announcer: Is this the truth Free? (Free shakes his head quietly)
Stork: Truthfully I used my teammates ID’s knowing that Free wouldn’t be hurt since we’re tight, and I won many times. (to free) You know even now there are many wins I haven’t revealed.
Announcer: So Stork, do you think it’s too much to say Free is a fellow dragon?
Stork: Oh no, it’s not like that.
Announcer: Hm, so you’re acknowledging him as a good player, but you’re also saying you’ve beaten him using zerg.
free: He’s so cheap~ he doesn’t practice with me when I want to and to hear that he uses his teammates ID’s to play me… so cheap.
Announcer: This is all interesting because Sea is the one that caused this argument in the first place. Yes, wasn’t there the acorn incident in the past too? It seems he has the quality of dragging people into a situation. And then he lowers his tail.
Sea: (is talking about acorn incident and putting Bisu and Casy in the spot as well; Bisu denies being involved).
33:31 – Canata 11th seed – choice
Announcer: You are called the Survivor King. What do you think of that?
Canata: I like it. Even though the actual meaning is not that good (since it implies he only does well in the Survivor tournament), it means I have the potential to be the MSL king too. So I think it’s okay, and it sounds good too.
Announcer: Your hopes for this season?
Canata: It would be to do better than my seed (which is 11th).
Announcer: You are well aware of your past 6 MSL history right?
Canata: Yes.
Announcer: 16th round, 32nd round, 16th round, 32nd round, 16th round, 32nd round. What do you think is the reason?
Canata: Well I think the first MSL is very important. During that time, I was defeated by Bisu, and I think since then I’ve been struggling.
Announcer: Well, you have someone similar to you – Sea has been 16th round, 32nd round, 16th round, 16th round, 32nd round. You guys share similar stats. Well anyway, the feeling that you must overcome a great wall must be great this particular season. How do you think you will do that?
Canata: Well, I think first and foremost, hard effort is necessary. But actually, last season, I thought Sea would really get a seed (get into 8th round). But I hope that when he gets a seed, that we can get it together.
Announcer: That sounds very nice.
Canata: But if I drop out, I’d like it if he dropped out with me too.
Announcer: We see. Sea – what are your hopes for this season?
Sea: I actually think Canata’s stats are worse in that he dropped out more~ but I hope that he does well.
Announcer: Well honestly your two stats are very similar, but if you guys end up playing each other in the 16th round, then maybe at least one of you can make it to the 8th round. Canata who do you pick?
Canata: Switch me with Ruby in Group G (placed next to Hwasin).
Announcer: Oh~ why?
Canata: I don’t have any particular emotions against Hwasin, but I’ve always respected Nada. So I want to play him, but I don’t think it would be good to play him first, so if I get the chance, I would like to play him. So to play Nada is my goal.
Announcer: Oh~ it was a strong proposal for Nada. Nada what do you think of Canata?
NaDa: I like Canata too. In the past, even when I was doing well, I would lose to him a lot though I don’t know if he remembers or not (mentions some incident about how he was hacked and was embarrassed) Yes, I like him a lot.
Announcers: Why do you think iloveoov and boxer who are also in SKT1 like you?
NaDa: There is a makeup I use, and I was asked about it, so I told them, and they really liked it.
Announcer: Wow, a friendship created over makeup. Your skin seems to have gotten a lot better Canata!
Canata: Yes, due to Nada. See, at first only I used it because at the time my skin was pretty bad and I was conscious of it. But then my teammates asked me what makeup I use. And at the time Nada had just recommended his makeup to me. Since then even GoRush has started using it. A lot of my teammates have started to use it due to Nada~ I bet the makeup’s sales profits have increased because of us.
Announcer: Come to think of it, all of your skins have gotten a lot better (referring to SKT1). Well it seems this is the first matchup where feelings for each other are warm – usually matchups like that don’t really happen. So you’ve been placed next to Hwasin~ Hwasin you usually don’t do such ostentatious ceremonies… when did you start preparing for it?
Hwasin: I was actually debating whether I should do it or not, but after yesterdays’ game, because my fans said they wanted it I decided to do it. Also, firebathero has won too many awards. A week ago, I was practicing with firebathero and he said he would whisk all the awards (including the MSL title) away. So, I thought to myself, “this isn’t right”.
Announcer: So your goal was to win the award over firebathero.
Hwasin: Yes.
Announcer: Whether that award be for ceremony or the MSL.
Hwasin: Yes.
Announcer: Well you’ve been placed next to Canata. What do you think?
Hwasin: I actually practice with him often and he’s very good… so I’m sorry to Nada and Canata but I want to drop him from the group.
40:40 – Hwasin 10th seed – choice
Hwasin: Switch Canata with Upmagic.
Announcer: Why?
Hwasin: First of all, I’m sorry to Canata. I also like Nada a lot. Upmagic is very good, and I have a memory of losing to him in the past. He also calls himself WaLyong (which means a great man who has no chance to display his talent), which I thought was really interesting and amusing. So I picked him.
Announcer: Do you think a term like WaLyong is fitting with Upmagic?
Hwasin: It’s fun. I think we’d be able to have fun games together so I want to play him.
Announcer: So we should listen to Upmagic’s perspective. If it goes this way, you will have to play Hwasin, what do you think?
UpMagiC: Well on my way here, I thought I would play zerg, and though I didn’t have a specific opponent in mind, I wanted to be in Nada’s group so I’m thankful that he moved me there. Also, I remember beating Hwasin in the past, so I think I can do it again.
Announcer: Do you think Hwasin is a tough opponent?
UpMagiC: Yes… (seems to falter a bit) Hwasin is goodlooking so I want to play him.
Announcer: So you want to beat him because he’s better looking than you?
UpMagiC: Well among most progamers, he’s very goodlooking and has a lot of charm, so I feel like if I can beat him I will become better looking too.
Announcer: Upmagic, you’re goodlooking too! So then who do you think is the best looking of all progamers?
UpMagiC: Ruby.
Announcers: We just heard Nal_Ra wonder if it was him. Upmagic what do you think of Nal_Ra?
UpMagiC: I just think thinking nicely of people is best (very polite answer).
Announcers: Yes, thinking oneself is goodlooking should be good enough, no matter how others may see you.
Nal_Ra: He is very honest, isn’t he?
43:46 – sAviOr 9th seed – choice
Announcer: 12th MSL appearance, amazing. He is really picking up his pace lately. Savior what do you think of your play lately?
sAviOr: I still think it’s a bit unclear, but I’m hoping it will go one way or the other soon.
Announcer: Oh, whether that be good or bad, though definitely you are probably working hard to make it swing the good way. Your feelings for this MSL are probably different from most other peoples’?
sAviOr: Yes, I definitely want to win.
44:46 – Much is caught sleeping.
Announcer: It seems he was deep in thought about something. Yes, day by day as the sun sets and you get older, there are increasingly more and more things to think about.
Nal_Ra: I was actually on the phone with him in the a.m. last night so he probably slept late.
Announcer: Anyway back to Savior. What do you choose?
sAviOr: Please take my name off and switch it with Much in Group G (next to Nada).
Announcer: This is a bonjwa battle!
sAviOr: I think out of the 32 players here, Nada and I have the most experience, so I think the match would have meaning. I also heard that someone in the 8 seeds is going to pick me, so because this isn’t 100%, I just wanted to lay who I wanted to play out there as the first person who came to mind.
Announcer: Wow, so the bonjwa who has made 12 MSL appearances is challenging the bonjwa with 17 MSL appearances.
Nal_Ra: So you’re saying that as two older players, fans would really want to see this matchup?
sAviOr: If the fans want the match, I have no thoughts on avoiding it… but I don’t think I am an “old” player yet.
Announcer: Nada what do you think of Savior’s challenge?
NaDa: When I was thinking of this draft, my primary goal was winning the MSL title too, and the two other contenders that are also attempting to win their 4th MSL title are Bisu and Savior so playing them would mean getting tough competition out of the way so I’m not completely against it but… when it comes to be my turn, I’ll think about it some more, I haven’t reached a decision yet.
Announcer: Wow Savior seems to be turning his mic, just the way he controls his overlords (sounds better in Korean).
Nal_Ra: I believe there are some players you meet that you just lose to; for me it was Savior or iloveoov. (is comforted by Announcer 2) Savior, after you met Bisu, you fell into a slump, what do you think about that?
sAviOr: If I get to play Bisu, I think above any other player he is my goal, and since I’m the one that is challenging him now, I’ll work extremely hard to win that goal.
Announcer: Wow, that is some bonjwa mountain over there.
49:41 – shows the fan sign with Savior and Bisu cuddling.
Nal_Ra: When I talked to Savior, I said, “didn’t you spill too much of my blood?” and Savior replied, “It’s okay, Bisu has spilled my blood the same way”.
Announcer 3: Bisu actually met you in the 4th round before he won that MSL.
Nal_Ra: Oh~ I forgot about that.
Announcer 3: Yea, he beat you and then went on to win the entire thing.
Announcer 2: Was it a carrier build?
Announcer 3: Eh, it’s not important, but yea. It was a sad loss. It’s nothing important, but I just remembered it and decided to mention it.
Announcer 2: Yes, it was kind of painful to watch wasn’t it?
Announcer 3: Yea.
Announcer 2: Okay, time for Yellow Yarnc to pick. Oh wait, I have to wrap it up for Part 2. Like this, 16~9 has finished.
00:04
go.go: I picked him (Hwasin) because I thought he’d be the easiest to deal with.
00:09
Hwasin: go.go is a bit arrogant…
00:13
Hwasin: I really wish he could win and move on to higher rounds (implying that he only loses)
00:16
910: I won't lose to a terran who uses a bug.
00:21
go.go: I don’t think 910 is very good.
00:25
a player’s voice: I didn’t even know go.go had made it this far.
go.go: I don’t think I’ll lose to a player like that. I don’t know where he comes out with confidence like that.
00:31
Hwasin: Lately I haven’t seen Bisu do so well in his terran play…
00:38
Bisu: I don’t think I’ve ever lost (to him).
00:40
Player 1: Playing Savior is my goal. He’s doing so well.
YellOw[ArnC] (I believe): I pick Savior too.
TerAtO: I pick Savior also.
sAviOr: I’ll finish the MSL and beat them in the proleague too (unsure if this is correct translation)
00:53
sAviOr: Hearing gorush talk before, I think he thinks I’m an easy opponent… I think he should prepare to lose.
GoRush: If you can’t win zvz, then verse terran, if you want to win zvz then I hope you will play zerg (himself).
sAviOr: I have confidence in winning against both terran and zerg… I think you should just wait and see for yourself.
01:14
Announcer: Who do you think you can win against?
DoctorK: I’m a protoss so I’d say firebathero.
firebathero: I’m fine with versing DoctorK.
01:23
Hwasin: Before I noticed he seemed to not take Savior, the MSL title holder seriously (firebathero)…
01:32
sAviOr: In firebathero’s case, he didn’t have enough skills to even get a seed…
01:36
firebathero: When a person is hungry, they eat. Right now I’m craving a victory, so I choose Savior.
01:46
Hwasin: Whenever firebathero meets (can’t hear player’s name), he loses…
firebathero: When he meets me, I think he’s scared of me… is that it?
Hwasin: (bringing up that other player again) Whenever firebathero plays (again can’t really hear) he’s scared he’s going to lose…
ALL A RECAP OF PAST BANTERING!
***a lot of it was hard to understand so please forgive me if the translations are not perfect! If you hear/see any mistakes, please feel free to point them out to me.
02:34
Announcer2: (making fun of Nal_Ra’s role in the MSL opening) Can you show us again as an encore?
Nal_rA: (hesitates) Well for some reason it seems like my MSL doesn’t it?
03:28
Woman MC: I’ll reveal more questions and answers chosen by players now. The next question was – which one of the players do I want to avoid the most? Wow, there are a lot of results. In 3rd place, 3 players were tied at 3 votes each – Stork, Jaedong, and this last one is a bit surprising… I don’t know if anyone would have guessed this but it’s the player who has reached the MSL for the first time – Horang2!
(Announcers start exclaiming in surprise.)
04:46
Announcers: The player you used to train with, Tazza, is crying right now. Wow, Horang2! You were ranked 3rd!
Horang2: Yes.
Announcers: Who did you pick for this question?
Horang2: I picked Jaedong.
Announcers: Well then that means that some other players have picked you… I wonder who they were. If there are players who picked Horang2 – there were 3 players – can you honestly raise your hand and say who you are? (silence) You know if we just do a bit of research we’ll find out anyway. (still silence) Wow, there doesn’t seem to be anyone. Well anyway, we still want to hear Horang2’s opinion.
Horang2: Well it’s my first appearance at the MSL so it’s a huge honor… I’ll work very hard.
Announcers: Yes, that is the image of a hardworking rising rookie.
Nal_Ra: Wow, it seems he’s even pulled out his hair. It’s all bunched to one side!
Announcers: Wow, I guess if you’re stressed, your hairstyle can change too. Yea, who knows, that hairstyle might become the new trend.
Nal_Ra: He’s very cute.
Announcers: Sorry (to the woman MC), who was 2nd place?
Woman MC: 2nd place got 5 votes – Bisu!
Announcers: One would think Bisu would get 1st place – makes you wonder who got ranked 1st!
Woman MC: 1st place got 7 votes – It’s Flash!!!
06:32
Announcers: Oh~ he almost spat out what he was eating! You were picked as the player who wants to be avoided most. Hm, it doesn’t seem like we can give him the mic right now… Someone give him a mic. Have you finished eating?
Flash: Yes.
Announcers: You were picked as the number 1 player people want to avoid. Is there someone you really want to avoid?
Flash: There’s no one.
Announcers: Oh~ then why do you think you got the most votes?
Flash: I’m not so sure myself… I think there are better players than me here, but it feels very nice to be number 1 in something for the first time.
Announcers: Then who did you pick Flash?
Flash: I picked myself.
Announcers: Wow~ he picked himself! Okay, well we hope you enjoy the rest of your meal. Now next question?
07:30
Woman MC: If I were to go to the finals, this is the player I want to face the most~ I’ll reveal 3rd place with 5 votes – Savior!
Announcers: Oh wow~ in the past he used to be 1st place but looks like he’s dropped a bit in ranks, to be frank. Then who is 2nd?
Woman MC: 2nd place got 7 votes – Jaedong!
Announcers: Wow, not surprising to see that only the finest players are being ranked here. They seemed to pick players who are not only good but also have a good chance of making it to the finals~ then who is first?
Woman MC: Yes, it is first with 10 votes! He also came out before in player who wants to be avoided – he seems to be coming out a lot. 10 votes – Bisu!
Announcers: Yes, it seems to be the general opinion among the players that Bisu does have the highest chance of making it to the finals.
09:12 – Camera catches Flash drinking this time.
Announcers: Oh this time he’s drinking something~ It doesn’t seem like he likes sharing with the players next to him. Jaedong and Hyuk are next to him~
09:30 – 10:20 : Explaining how later the Woman MC will also give out prizes to the best provoker and best talker. Then explaining how the Steal Draft works.
10:29
Announcers: Oh looks like Horang2 is busy pulling out his hair again. Yes, seems like if you pull your hair like that you play sc well too.
10:45 – YellOw[ArnC] choice
Announcers; 8th seed Yellow yarnc!
YellOw[ArnC]: Hello.
Announcers: Known as the mutalisk controller, you have made your 6th appearance at the MSL. You’re being called the Dark Knight Mutalisk, do you like this nickname?
YellOw[ArnC]: It seems that they made that nickname for me because I have good mutalisk control, so I like it.
Announcers: Right now you are in Group E with Canata, Much, and by.hero; no one from your team is in there. What do you want to do?
YellOw[ArnC]: Please switch Canata who is next to me with Upmagic in Group G.
Announcers: So you’ve pulled Upmagic to you. And one more move?
YellOw[ArnC]: Switch Sea in Group D with DoctorK in Group H.
Announcers: Hm, you’ve switched players in completely different groups. What’s the reason?
YellOw[ArnC]: The 2nd one is because Luxury hyung said he wanted to play Sea, so I did that for him.
Announcers: Luxury is your hyung right? Do you think he can beat Sea?
YellOw[ArnC]: I don’t... think… (slightly hesitating) I don’t think he’ll lose.
Announcers: Why does Luxury want to play Sea?
YellOw[ArnC]: As he said before, it’s because he’s lost to him many times.
Announcers: Oh~ so as a way to get revenge. We see. So you’ve also brought over Upmagic. Why?
YellOw[ArnC]: Lately Upmagic has been winning against zerg a lot using mech. A while ago in an interview I stated that mech is only meant for protoss…
Announcers: Oh so do you regret saying that?
YellOw[ArnC]: No, I don’t. I saw that he’s won using mech against many zergs, but I haven’t played him. So this time I want to play him.
Announcers: There are many other zergs, why do you think they lose against mech?
YellOw[ArnC]: Hm… I just don’t think they dealt with the situations very well.
Announcers: Oh~ we see. That’s great confidence. Upmagic has been doing very well lately utilizing his mech against zergs, so Yarnc is now stating that he’ll reverse those wins with his skills. So now we need to hear Upmagic’s perspective. What do you think of Yarnc?
UpMagiC: I actually came here thinking about how I’ve met Yarnc many times but never used mech against him. So now I’ll make him regret saying that mech is only meant for protoss.
Announcers: Wow this is a great deal of confidence coming from both players. So he’s saying straight out that he is going to use mech, and use it to win.
UpMagiC: I usually use mech… if I use bionic I don’t think I’ll win so, I think it’s time to punish him a bit.
Announcers: Wow he’s basically saying he’ll crush him. What do you say to that Yarnc?
Nal_Ra: See this is interesting because if they verse each other and Upmagic loses, it’s just a loss but if Yarnc loses even after knowing Upmagic is going to go mech, that is just too big of a blow (pride as well).
Announcers: Do you believe him? (when he says he’ll go mech)
YellOw[ArnC]: Well if Upmagic goes bionic, I think I’ll just win. So I think he has no choice but to go mech.
Announcers: Oh~ so you’re saying when he goes mech you’ll just manage the situation well.
15:34 – NaDa choice
NaDa: Hello
Announcers: It’s your 17th appearance and you even got an award before.
15:47 – fans scream out Nada’s name in unison
Announcers: Please say something for them.
NaDa: Thank you.
Announcers: 17th appearance and 200 games under your belt – it must feel good.
NaDa: So you’re saying I’m old…
Announcers: No no, we’re just saying you’re very consistent.
NaDa: Oh so that’s the euphemism you’re using…
Announcers: On our website, there’s a question people have been wanting us to ask. A while back in a match vs. Stork, you built a turret in the center of the map. What did that mean? Many people have been wondering.
NaDa: Honestly, I’m not sure either. (laughter)
Nal_rA: There was a cross in the center.
Announcers: The way Stork took it was, “is he saying he’s going to nail me to a cross?”
NaDa: I like Stork a lot, I don’t dislike him. At the time, I was winning, and I guess without realizing it I wanted to do something. My scv went there and after contemplating what I could do, I couldn’t build any big building there. If I were to put a meaning to it, since it is in the shape of “Shib” (in HanMoon, Chinese characters – Shib means 10; another way to say Shib is Yuhl) it would be to say “I am Nada~” (Since his name is Lee Yoon YUHL)
Announcers: Oh~~ yea, even when the match ended, that’s how you did the ceremony, by saying “I am Nada”.
Nal_rA: Jangbi who’s on the same team as Stork interpreted it as Stork’s graveyard.
Announcers: Yes, there are many people who interpreted it as Stork’s grave, that you were burying him. You were even being called the ShibJaGa (Cross) terran. Let’s hear Jangbi’s perspective right now. Is that how you saw it?
JangBi: When I was in the waiting room, someone told me that so that’s why I said that.
17:45: (Stork mutters next to Jangbi that he’s the one that said that to Jangbi.)
JangBi: Oh yes, Stork hyung said that to me.
Announcers: Oh so actually Stork is the one who interpreted it as a burial site for himself.
18:43
Announcers: I think it’s time to hear Nada’s perspective. Now, Nada, you CAN end up meeting Stork since you are on the same right side of groups. What do you choose to do?
Nada: Well first, take off Iris’s name and switch with Magma.
19:10
NaDa: Leta said he wanted to play a weak player. He even told me himself that he wants to play Magma. So… yea. Sorry Leta.
19:36 – Magma looks PISSED.
Announcers: Someone HURRY and give the mic to Magma! Yes it is his first appearance at the MSL. Wow, his expression isn’t looking too good. Magma, you heard what was just said right?
19:59
maGma: Leta said I was weak, but in the past, I crushed him. (everyone goes woah~)
Announcers: How many years ago was that?
maGma: Around 2 years ago. Back then I seriously beat him so hard that he wasn’t even worthy being my opponent. Just because he’s in a good position lately he’s talking so confidently…
Announcers: Wow, Magma is quite explosive. So Magma, what do you think of Leta?
maGma: He doesn’t seem like much. (everyone laughs)
Announcers: Very short, but powerful answers. So Magma, currently you have the image of “the 6 dragons are nothing” – what do you think of them right now?
maGma: All 6 dragons are just protoss, and I think they’re all acorn kings.
21:11
Announcers: Oh~ Stork is laughing. Magma, to be honest, the community is begging us to keep you talking. Basically, you’ve just become famous.
maGma: My dongseng (younger sibling or younger friend) just called and told me my name is searched #1 right now (Korean search engines show the top 10 most searched items on the side).
21:38 – Everyone screams/laughs
Announcers: Yes, you’ve definitely created your own unique talking style.
Nal_rA: I heard you prepared a drone ceremony, is there a reason you didn’t do it?
maGma: I was planning on doing it but I was told the audio wouldn’t work so I didn’t do it.
21:55
Announcers: So out of the 6 dragons, which one do you think should be knocked out?
maGma: (silence) All 6 of them (he also used the term MaLi when referring to them, which is a term used for animals, not humans LOL)
Everyone dies in laughter and exclamation.
Nal_rA: WOW, I thought that even if a lot were chosen, it’d only be about 3… but 6?? And using the term MaLi…
22:38
Announcers: So lay out a challenge now – of the 32 players here, who do you want to verse?
maGma: There’s no one in particular I want to play. Just anyone, just as the water flows.
Announcers: So you’re saying whoever it is you meet you’ll make them into acorns~
23:00
Announcers: Wait, Upmagic, you’re on the same team as Magma, what is he like? I’m so surprised right now.
UpMagiC: Honestly speaking, he looks really scary. But in truth, back home he’s very nice. I actually hit him a lot too… he’s very gentle. He was saying how boring it was here so I think he just exploded (once the mic got to him).
Announcers: Ah, so he’s actually a very nice person, as revealed through Upmagic. Time to hear from Leta~ You just provoked Magma! What do you think of Magma?
Leta: I think I’ve created an opportunity to showcase my skills.
Announcers: The focus was originally supposed to be on Nada, but the spotlight has suddenly swerved onto Magma and Leta! It’s been revealed that you specifically picked Magma…
24:15 – camera has been focusing on Magma’s scary expression
Announcers: Wow, honestly his expression IS very scary. Yes, please remember people, he is a good person, as Upmagic revealed. Upmagic has even admitted to hitting Magma. So Leta, you’ve picked Magma as an easy matchup. Why?
Leta: Just because I thought he’d be easy. But looking at him now, I’m scared. Seeing him staring into the camera like that is scary and I wish he would stop.
25:05 – Nal_Ra talking about how a staring match would be interesting.
Announcers: We have no time for that, right now it is Nada’s time, remember?
Nal_rA: Oh yes, I forgot.
Announcers: Nada, what do you think of the situation that has just arisen?
NaDa: I don’t think there’s ever been an argument like this before. There’s an intense feeling in the air…
Announcers: Yes, it feels warm doesn’t it? (Nada nods).
Announcers: Yes, truth be told, back in Nada’s day, the arguments were never like this. In fact, they were quite respectful of one another. It is quite scary.
25:29
Announcers: Is there anyone that thinks, “I will beat Magma” here among the dragons?
Fans screaming out Bisu’s name.
25:48
Nal_rA: There’s a last question I want to ask Nada. In the past, besides preparing for games, you were also known for preparing showmanship (i.e. mass producing only tanks). But lately, you haven’t been doing that anymore.
NaDa: In the past, I think doing those showmanship things was encouraged. Also, back then, even amongst progamers there was a reasonable gap of skill level, but nowadays it’s more about playing as a team than as an individual and everyone shows such great skills in their games. Therefore those showmanship acts that got me nicknames like the Tornado terran are difficult lately because nowadays everyone plays so well.
Nal_rA: Then which player currently can do those showmanship acts? If there is one?
NaDa: Well, I think the person that is most entertaining to watch is firebathero, but on skill level when it comes to mech, I think Flash is very quick and so he’d be able to show those showmanship acts. Among zerg, it would be Jaedong. Among protoss… well they’re all very good.
Announcers: Yes, as always, it was the modest Nada speaking.
27:28 – Announcer is about to move on past Nada.
NaDa: I still have one choice left to make~…
Announcers: Oh right (looks embarrassed)
NaDa: Wow… you’re being too harsh right now.
Announcers: Yes, we’re very sorry. Go on.
NaDa: What I mentioned before concerning Savior and Bisu and competing with them for our 4th MSL titles, I think if I were to play Savior now, in terms of position, I don’t think a good result can come out of it. It would be better if we met at a higher round. So please switch Savior and Frozean.
Announcers: So you’ve brought Frozean to you.
NaDa: Before, Frozean said he wanted to play me and also like this, there are 4 terrans in the group so I think it’d be comfortable in terms of practicing. I don’t know how things will work out later since higher seeds can switch things around but right now I’m just thinking about my own feelings, on wanting to win.
Announcers: Frozean is right next to you. Frozean, Nada has chosen you as the opponent he wants to play. What do you think?
FrOzean: Well, it seems he has hopes of going to the finals, so I will firstly crush those hopes early on.
Announcers: Hm… it seems Nada’s thoughts were to pave a road to the finals by creating an all terran group but Frozean is saying that that is not happening. Oh~ they’re not even looking at each other right now.
29:22
Announcers: Well anyway, there is the provoker award and best talker award coming up and Magma’s name has definitely gone up in the nominee list.
29:30 – Magma’s face on screen – fans scream.
29:40 – Stork choice
Stork: Hello
Announcers: Magma’s challenge is very intense. What do you think?
Stork: Actually, before when you asked someone to raise their hand (if they thought they could beat Magma), I raised my hand but you didn’t call my name so I couldn’t say anything.
Announcers: So you’re saying that the dragon to beat Magma is yourself. We see. Hm, we wonder if Magma is who you initially intended on playing. Well we’ll find out – Stork what do you choose? You’re currently in Group G right now next to Forgg.
Stork: Please switch Forgg and Magma.
Announcers: Oh~ you’ve dragged Magma to you! Interesting matchups coming out!
30:32 – Camera on Magma’s intense expression again.
Nal_rA: The face has come out! The face!
Announcers: Yes, it has definitely become his trademark, where you lower your head slightly and utilize a very intense gaze. It’s very… charming. So Stork, is this decision because of his challenge?
Stork: Before when he was talking about the 6 dragons, I suddenly thought of how in 2007/2008 my team and his team had an acorn bet game. Magma had an all kill against us.
Announcers: Oh~ let’s look at his expression!
31:14 – Magma is snickering.
Announcers: Yes, he has exactly 2 expressions. One laughing, one not. So then Stork, what happened?
Stork: Yes, it wasn’t just once, but twice and it made me feel really bad, and I just thought of that and decided this would be a good chance for revenge.
32:05
Announcers: So Magma, Stork has picked you. Wow, the mic gets to him quickly now doesn’t it? Actually, he’s just holding on to it.
32:11 – Magma starts laughing after holding a blank face.
Announcers: Yes, now we can see those 2 expressions at the same time. Stork has challenged you! What do you think?
maGma: I think he’s telling me to go to the 16th round. (Stork shakes his head in disbelief).
Announcers: Wow, he’s making all the other players quiet. What else?
maGma: You lost in that acorn bet match… seems you still have some confidence left.
Announcers: Wow, this can quickly turn into the MoonGi Star League (MoonGi is Magma’s Korean name). This is incredible confidence. Anything to say Stork?
Stork: Honestly speaking, I didn’t even know Magma made it this far. I only realized he made it here when we were shooting our profile pictures and I heard Upmagic suggesting to Magma to do Rainism (a dance by Korean singer Rain) and I thought to myself, “Oh that player still existed”. But then I forgot about that and then was surprised again when I saw him here today. But I’ll make it so that after this match, the fans officially forget who he is.
Announcers: Wow, that is quite a provocation.
33:29 – Camera is focused on Magma’s intense gaze again
Announcers: Wow, “player with intense gaze” (was Jaedong) I think will change now.
33:35
Announcers: Stork, you have one more choice to make.
Stork: I can’t really see… (laughter)
Announcers: Oh, he must be really angry~
Stork: Please switch Luxury and go.go.
Announcers: Oh~ you took the quietly living go.go and dragged him into your group. Why?
Stork: I want to make it through the 32nd round easily.
34:14
Announcers: Oh~ go.go please take the mic. He stepped on you.
go.go: Honestly speaking… Stork is a very good player… picking me and Magma like that. I’ll just send him away.
Announcers: What about Sea? He’s in the group too.
go.go: (ignoring) Truthfully I’m not that confident against protoss, but after hearing him say that, I think I’ll have to wreak havoc on him.
Announcers: Remember, Sea is your first opponent.
Nal_rA: Go.go I know that you were hoping for even 2nd place in a group. What do you think now?
go.go: I honestly think Stork is a very talented player… but hearing him say that my pride is really hurt and makes me think I must really win now, so now I know I must work harder, which is good.
Announcers: Ah yes, a goal has been set for you. You’re saying that you and Magma will take Stork down.
35:43
Announcers: Then go.go, in Group H, which 2 players do you think will make it out of the group?
go.go: Honestly, I think Magma will be eliminated.
Announcers: Oh~ this is a sudden breach of alliance! (after Go.go claimed they would both take down Stork) And what else?
go.go: Looking at Magma now is like looking at myself when I first made it here – too much talk and no action. Honestly, that player… is not good.
36:15
Announcers: Magma, it seems like everyone wants to step on you! Yes, you should just leave the mic right next to you. Who do you think will advance from Group H?
maGma: Well go.go is going to be eliminated with two straight losses. I’m not just some tool he can use… before he was saying we will advance together and now he’s saying I’ll be eliminated? He’s a messed up guy.
36:42 – (laughter, go.go also laughs then nods.)
36:48
Announcers: Wow, first calling out the 6 dragons then calling go.go messed up – Magma you’re speaking so smoothly today.
36:57
Nal_rA: There is no mention of Sea at all! (Since Sea is also in that group)
Announcers: What do you think of this triangular fight going on Sea? You may even be able to advance past them!
Sea: Honestly, I’m not sure if Group H will stay looking like this until the end, but if it does, I think it will be highly interesting. Magma is so funny.
37:20
Announcers: So Magma is only funny? What about go.go?
Sea: Truthfully, I think if the group plays out like this, (gestures to Stork next to him) I think the two of us will advance. (Stork nods beside him in agreement)
Announcers: Oh~ so you’re saying the two of you are going to advance, why are you two (Magma/go.go) talking so much!
37:34
Nal_rA: To be frank, Sea you can say you have a bit of a grudge against Stork right now, right?
Sea: Yes.
Nal_rA: So if you were to take sides, would you take Magma’s side or Stork’s?
Sea: Wait, wasn’t it them two that were arguing? (gestures to Magma/go.go)
Announcers: No~ right now it’s you playing go.go.
37:54 – camera shows Group H matches – Stork vs. Magma / Sea vs. go.go
Sea: I will have to take Stork’s side because he needs to advance with two victories and then… (hesitates) never mind, I don’t know. (Stork looks shocked at Sea)
38:06
Sea: Just, I think I’ll end up in Group E playing Free.
Announcers: He went from taking Stork’s side to suddenly talking about playing Free. (Sea shakes his head) Seems he doesn’t want to take sides and instead just wants to get out of that group.
38:23 – 38:40
Announcers: Group H has become an intense group – this is the whole point of all of this, to get interesting matchups like this. Between Magma and go.go – who will survive? Everyone should stay tuned in the MSL to find out.
38:43 – Firebathero choice
Announcers: Time to meet our next player! Firebathero! You’ve become quiet right now. What do you think of all this?
firebathero: Right now, I’m the 5th seed. It seems small fish are talking quite a lot. (everyone laughs)
Announcers: Ah~! He called them small fish!
39:02 – Camera shows Magma’s reaction
Announcers: Oh~ Magma!
firebathero: Seriously it was… so boring. I was almost about to yawn, but when Magma started declaring war on everyone… I guess I’m not as sleepy anymore.
Announcers: Firebathero! If things continue like this, you might go home with nothing! (Since usually he gets awards for talking, but Magma is stealing all the light)
firebathero: Yes, honestly I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable because of that. (laughter) But truthfully I just saw a new side of Magma. I was shocked. His eyes are like (imitates), as if he’s going to eat someone.
39:34 – Magma’s reaction/Firebathero continues to imitate Magma.
39:40
firebathero: He has eyes like that.
Announcers: Yes, well before firebathero makes his choices, I will reveal another question answered by the players. “Which player can I definitely beat, 100% hands down!” – do you know who got 1st rank in this?
firebathero: Who?
Announcers: You.
firebathero looks uneasy.
Announcers: There was someone who tied in 1st place with you. It was Magma.
40:11 – Magma sighs.
Announcers: You two were tied at 1st place with 5 votes each. So honestly you two aren’t in much of a position to be talking so confidently. So the rest of the 31 players here were thinking like that about you. What do you think of that?
40:28
firebathero: Wait I have a question. I’m curious as to who Magma picked.
Announcers: Oh really? Magma, in the question “Who can I definitely beat 100%”, who did you pick?
(long silence)
maGma: Do I have to say?
Announcers: Yes, there are many people who are curious.
(another pause)
Announcers: Is he going to say “everyone”?
maGma: I picked Horang2.
Announcers: Oh~ you picked Horang2, the player who pulls his hair out feverishly. He is relatively new on the progaming scene, and he could think that Horang2 still has a lot to learn.
41:00 – shows Horang2 fidgeting again (lol this boy can’t stay still)
Announcers: Firebathero, who did you pick?
firebathero: I thought Magma would say he picked himself… but yea, if that’s the case, then I shouldn’t be ranked first, because I picked myself. So for me, it’s not that I can win against everyone, but definitely Magma.
41:18 – Magma looks stoned (LOL)
Announcers: Oh we can practically see the steam rising out of him~
41:30
Announcers: Now it is time for us to hear firebathero’s choices~ Before we begin, you are in a really tough group. Next to you is Jaedong, what do you choose to do?
firebathero: Well first, there is something I’m curious about. Last time when Jaedong won, I gave him a Nintendo DS, but then I heard rumors that he sold it off right away. I heard that he never even used it. I want to hear what he has to say about that.
Jaedong: I played it and then got bored of it so I gave it to someone I knew.
Announcers: Oh, as a gift.
Jaedong: Yes.
Announcers: Without money involved.
Jaedong: Yes.
Announcers: Hm… firebathero must be a bit upset.
firebathero: Yes, I think it’s time to shut hell’s door on him.
Announcers: Oh~ so are you just going to leave this match as it is? You don’t have to make a choice if you don’t want to.
firebathero: It’s free choices I have, so if I don’t use it, I would be the idiot.
Announcers: Ah~ the way you speak is impressive. So what will you do?
firebathero: First, take off Ruby’s name and switch it with Hwasin from Group G.
Announcers: It seems you are showing interest in Hwasin again~ So you’ve brought Hwasin to you, not sent Ruby away right?
firebathero: That’s right.
Announcers: Why is that?
firebathero: In the past whenever we had events like this, Hwasin always accused me of talking too much but I am the 5th seed now so I think I’ve earned the right to do it.
43:00
firebathero: And if he resents it then he just earn a seed and then do something about it. So yea, I dragged him into my group. Can I make my next choice now?
Announcers: Yes.
firebathero: I personally like Tempest a lot. Last time when the MSL finished, after the 8th round where we played each other in an interview he stated that I was very good so I was inwardly appreciating it very much. So because of that I don’t want to play him now because I feel like I will win again. So this time, please take his name off and in Group C…
44:05 – Fans start screaming when Firebathero says Group C because a certain someone is in that group…
Announcers: Yes, Group C! Is it Savior?! Who is it?
firebathero: Yes, Savior in Group C –
44:18 – Fans go CRAZY.
Announcers: AH!!! Hwasin and Savior chosen by Firebathero! He really is creating quite a story here! Wow, so what was the reason behind your decision?
firebathero: Last time, actually before even in the recaps it was shown, but Savior said something along the lines of this. Back then, he was seeded and I was not – he said, “you should get seeded first” (in an insulting tone). Just as he instructed, I did get a seed.
44:51 – Camera is on Savior’s reaction to all of this.
firebathero: I noticed Savior had made it out of the Survivor tournament. So I just wanted to get revenge for that and as for Hwasin, he must inwardly be thinking of Savior as his bonjwa so yea…
45:09 – Laughter; camera catches Savior laughing as well
firebathero: And I am also thinking of Jaedong along the same lines (as bonjwa) as a really good zerg player. Therefore whether Hwasin, Jaedong, or Savior lose, since we all think of each other so highly I think we will play really good games… I did all of this with the purpose of creating an interesting group.
Nal_rA: I heard from your teammates that you said that you don’t want to play Savior anymore, but are those just rumors?
firebathero: No, it’s true. To be frank, I don’t want to play Savior anymore. Because if I lose, it’s just a big blow to me.
Nal_rA: Oh~ because you’ve won against him many times now, if you lose, it’ll be a big blow.
firebathero: That’s right. So I think Savior should just try his hardest with Hwasin, because I’m going to advance with two victories, so yea.
46:00
Announcers: I’m going to clarify something – when you say it’ll be a blow to you if you lose to Savior, are you implying that he is beneath you?
firebathero: (silence) I think my expression is saying everything.
Announcers: Oh~~~ Wow, we see. Well now it’s time to hear the perspectives of the players who got chosen. Let’s listen to Hwasin first. You know there’s something really interesting here – it’s up to the 8th rank that is seeded, and these two players (Hwasin and Savior) are ranked 9 and 10. It means they just BARELY missed getting seeded. Now, Hwasin.
46:40
Hwasin: First of all, I think firebathero felt like he was falling behind Magma so he’s trying extra hard… I was just here being quiet and he dragged me into this. I’m just... too tired of it all to even reply. I’ll just stay wherever I’m put. I’ll work hard.
Announcers: Oh~ so he’s saying since it’s not the first time he’s been attacked like this, he’s just tired of it to even retaliate.
47:10
Announcers: Then it’s time to hear Savior’s perspective. (Fans scream)
sAviOr: I also don’t really have anything in particular to say. It’s not even the first time I’ve seen him act like that… I think he’s talented at provoking fights.
Announcers: Why do you think he acts like that?
sAviOr: I think it’s because the titles are always so far away from him.
Announcers: Ah~ then are you confident in a match against him?
sAviOr: Well if you look at our games I’ve lost a lot to him but my confidence has grown since then. So yes, I am confident.
Announcers: Then Savior, if Jaedong and Firebathero verse each other, who do you think will win? Do you think hell’s door will be shut?
48:18
sAviOr: I’m not so sure, but Firebathero is someone I recognize and acknowledge as a terran with good zerg play, so I think Jaedong vs. Firebathero will be very equally matched.
Announcers: Ah, we see. Jaedong, please take the mic. Lastly, we should hear Jaedong’s perspective. So far, Firebathero has been doing all the talking, mentioning how he’s going to close hell’s gate on you. What do you think of all this? The first fight could end up being a match between you and Firebathero.
Jaedong: I’m okay with playing firebathero but I didn’t really want to have to go against Hwasin and Savior… so I’m kind of upset that things turned out this way. Truthfully, hearing that Firebathero targeted me just made me want to win more and I would now like if our match went as planned.
Announcers: Because you don’t have any teammates who are seeded, if you want this to change, you need to appeal. Do you want things to just stay this way?
Jaedong: Yes.
Announcers: Okay, that was Jaedong saying he just wants Group F left alone.
49:37 – Kal choice
Announcers: Among the acorns, he is the largest one! (Kal is mad tall). Among the players here, you haven’t touched the mic in a long time. What do you think of all of this?
Kal: I’m just really nervous because it’s been so long since I’ve held a mic.
Announcers: A lot of players have made choices, what do you think?
Kal: There are a lot of matchups that I’m excited to watch, and there are players I really want to verse.
Announcers: Out of these matchups, which one are you most excited to see?
Kal: Personally, I want to see Magma vs. Stork… But I think I will have to drag Magma to me.
50:40 – Magma shaking his head
Announcers: Oh~ okay so you’re saying switch Horang2 and Magma.
Nal_rA: Are you doing this because of his challenge against you guys?
Kal: Yes, I don’t think the higher ranked dragon (referring to Stork) even needs to deal with this situation. I want to take care of the situation as the youngest of the 6 dragons.
Announcers: Ah~ then of the 6 dragons, have you ranked them in your head?
Kal: Yes, I have.
Announcers: Who’s first?
Kal: 1st? Personally I think it’s Bisu.
Announcers: Then who’s last?
Kal: (silence)
Announcers: Be honest!
Kal: I think I’m the last dragon.
Announcers: (disappointed Ah~’s) So you’re saying you want to punish him. You have one more choice left.
Kal: I don’t have any particular choices I personally want to make…
(Hwasin whispers something to Kal)
Announcers: Looks like Hwasin just said something to you!)
Kal: I think Hwasin hyung wants to go to another group. Please switch Hwasin with Canata in Group G.
Announcers: Oh Hwasin gets moved next to Ruby! Looks like Canata got dragged this time. We’ll have to hear Hwasin’s perspective on this. Why did you ask to be changed? You sounded pretty confident before.
52:34
Hwasin: It’s not that I was confident, I just didn’t want to play Savior hyung. Also, Ruby said earlier he wanted to play me so I just followed the original plan.
Announcers: A goodlooking player battle.
Hwasin: Yea… I’ll play Ruby, and ask that Savior hyung get revenge.
52:54
Announcers: Looks like Canata next to you is pouting!
53:14
Announcers: Well it’s time to hear Magma’s perspective! You’ve been targeted by the dragons – what do you think?
maGma: I’m not the village soup – I don’t get why I keep being traded back and forth.
(laughter)
maGma: It’s just as Kal said himself – he is the worst of the 6 dragons.
53:29 – Announcers exclaim in shock and Kal laughs.
Announcers: And then is it Stork next?
maGma: They’re all the same acorns. (Says how he calls the 6 dragons a specific name back at home; couldn’t really hear, but we can assume it’s insulting because the announcers shout) Toss are all the same.
53:54
Announcers: Then we’ll create the opportunity now. Is there any player here who says HE will personally beat Magma? (silence) Yea, even before there was only Stork and then they were matched up together before Kal took Magma away. Yes, I was personally looking at Leta to see if he would raise his hand but he didn’t.
54:27 – free choice
Announcers: What do you think of everything that’s going on right now? You looked like you were quietly spectating everything.
free: Which part? I didn’t really hear it (he seems really confused)
Announcers: What do you think of what’s going on?
free: Well initially I came here thinking Magma was the easiest player… but I think he’s been moved around too many times to pick him too. I think Kal has good zerg play so he’ll be able to finish the game pretty easily, so I want to pick someone else now.
Announcers: Then we’ll first see what choice you make and ask questions from there. What do you want to do?
free: Please switch Luxury and Leta (bringing Luxury into his group and moving Leta out).
Announcers: And what else? You have one more choice.
free: (is hesitating) Ah… my original plan was to fill my group with zergs… but there doesn’t seem to be anyone. Then, switch Kwanro and Forgg please~ (bringing Kwanro).
Announcers: What’s the reason? (silence) Free? Focus please~ (silence) Free!
free: Yes, yes.
Announcers: You made choices – please explain them.
free: Initially, because Sea challenged me I wanted to play him and then fill up the rest of the group with zergs since I don’t have to practice as much for them –
57:10 – Free’s fans hold up signs for him that says – “Boss! Nice shot!”
Announcers: Looks like your employees are here~
free: Oh ~ looks like I’ll have to increase their salaries (playing along).
57:20
free: So yea, I wanted to play Sea but he went somewhere else so it kind of sucks. But the players that are seeded higher than me, whether it be Jangbi or Bisu – if they switched it up for me I wouldn’t mind either.
Announcers: Okay, so now Forgg is going to be facing Zero, let’s hear Zero’s perspective on that. What do you think – how do you think it’ll be facing Forgg?
57:44
ZerO: Firstly, I was a little thrown off when Free hyung made this decision…
Announcers: You may even be a bit disappointed.
ZerO: Yes… so I asked “why did you do that” and he replied that he was certain things will switch around later… I think I’ll choose to believe that for now.
Announcers: Yes, we see. It seems to be that Zero isn’t very comfortable with having to face Forgg.
58:15
Announcers: Hm, yes. If things don’t end up switching around then Zero and Free will end up having a strained friendship. Then perhaps next time they may sit farther away from each other.
58:25
Announcers: Now, like this, we have gone through seeds 8~3, and we are now highly anticipating the choices that will be made by ranks 1 and 2 since they can make 3 choices each and completely switch things around.
58:44
Announcers: Is there by chance anyone who wants to make a final appeal to the two remaining players that they desperately want to be moved or play someone else? (silence)
Nal_rA: Because the final decisions are now being made, it’s okay to make an appeal~
(Magma raises his hand)
Announcers: Oh, Magma~
59:04
Announcers: Please speak, who do you want to play?
maGma: I want to play Stork.
Announcers: Ah~ your plan to play Stork seem never to change. So you have no interest in Kal?
maGma: Yes, he doesn’t seem like much.
Announcers: Ah~ so even though they’re essentially both acorns, you want to play the more highly ranked one! The king acorn!
maGma: Yes, the one that is about a centimeter bigger.
Announcers: Ah~ one centimeter! Okay, is there anyone else? (silence) Seems like there isn’t anyone.
00:00 – 00:22 – Talking about prizes to be offered for best talker, etc.
00:27
Announcers: Oh, if things play out like this, I think it’ll be really interesting.
00:33
Announcers: Why don’t we hear the perspective of someone who hasn’t talked much today? Iris?
00:40
Announcers: What do you think of the atmosphere/mood right now?
00:45
Iris: I think Magma made things a lot more fun for everyone. So I’ve been having fun just watching… I feel thankful.
Announcers: So do you think that Magma is going to get the provoker and best talker award?
Iris: Well, he has been showing us such an exciting side today, so I’d like it if he got it.
Announcers: Ah~ we see. So that was Iris’s perspective. Let’s get Ruby’s opinion too since he’s right next to Iris.
01:12
Announcers: Ruby has been very calm today, different from other times.
RuBy: I am a “little fish” (referring to the insult firebathero made earlier) so I didn’t feel I had a right to speak.
(Announcers laugh and fans protest.)
RuBy: Before, Luxury said he thought Canata was good and so didn’t want him. So then… is he saying that I’m bad?
(Everyone laughs.)
RuBy: My feelings were a bit hurt.
Announcers: Oh~ it would’ve been bad if we hadn’t given you the mic!
01:53
Announcers: Let’s get the perspective of more players while we still have time~ Tempest~ Dragoon 33 kills! What do you think of everything that’s been happening?
Tempest: Well firstly, I really wanted to play firebathero but… I also felt like a “little fish” so I couldn’t say anything.
02:12 – Camera catches firebathero laughing
Announcers: Why are there so many “little fish”?
Tempest: I really want to make it far this time, and as for Magma… yea, he’s really scary.
Announcers: Don’t you think you should be showing us a strong powerful side?
Tempest: Magma is coming off so strong that if I felt that if I also acted that way and lost, it would be a greater blow.
02:39
Nal_rA Let’s get Horang2’s perspective!
Announcers: No wait, let’s first get Luxury’s perspective (since he’s sitting near Tempest). What do you think of the mood right now?
Luxury: Part 1 and Part 2 were a bit boring… but I think Magma and firebathero really made Part 3 interesting. So I’m really thankful to them.
03:03
Announcers: Looks like Magma’s gained a lot of fans among the progamers. Thank you Luxury~ now let’s get the mic to Horang2.
03:16
Announcers: Your hairstyle changed again!
03:18 – Camera shows Horang2’s hair has indeed, shifted to the other side.
Announcers: Before it was on the right! There is a definite change. What do you think is the secret to the success of your hair? Did you ask to get that specific hairstyle at the hair salon?
03:30
Horang2: No!
Announcers: Horang2! You said you prepared an introduction before. Say it confidently now. What kind of player are you?
Horang2: I have a style of play that changes a lot… I learned a lot from watching Nal_Ra’s plays.
03:57
Announcers: In the past, Horang2 said he wanted to be like Nal_Ra and during highschool used interesting plays to eventually lead his school to victory~ and now, he has even made it this far in the MSL. Horang2, what is your goal this MSL?
Horang2: I want to get at least 2 victories in the MSL.
Announcers: This reminds me of a time when Nal_Ra went up to Horang2 and said, “Do you know me?” but yes, seems like he does.
04:41
Announcers: Let’s move the mic again to by.hero. What do you think this MSL will be like?
by.hero: My group?
Announcers: Well just the Lost Saga MSL in general.
by.hero: I think a lot of interesting matchups have materialized so I’m excited.
Announcers: Which matchup do you think will be most interesting?
by.hero: I think Group F will be very interesting.
Announcers: Oh Firebathero~ So you think Firebathero vs. Jaedong will be most interesting?
by.hero: Yes.
Announcers: Who do you think will win? To simply ask. What you think personally.
by.hero: (hesitates) I… I think Jaedong will win.
Announcers: Oh~~~ Firebathero must be insulted. Yes, he must be very offended.
05:50
Announcers: Okay thank you, give the mic to Hyuk please. Hyuk, anything to say?
Hyuk: I didn’t get a chance to say this before, but before when you asked if anyone really wanted to play someone in particular, I wanted to say Sea. I have a lot of bad memories with that person… I lost in a lot of important moments… actually lost a lot just in general to him so this time I wanted to play him.
Announcers: Why didn’t you say it confidently before?
Hyuk: I’m normally not so open about these things.
Announcers: Oh~ well Bisu is your teammate so you can make an appeal to him!
Hyuk: Bisu, please listen to my request.
06:42 – Bisu laughs.
Announcers: Ah~ the appeal has been made. Will you give the mic to DoctorK. Okay, DoctorK, as usual, you are a Wonder Girls fan. Lately, Girls Generation (another girl singing group) has released a single too. What do you think?
DoctorK: Yes, well, I’m thinking well of them too.
Announcers: Right now you are in Group D next to Free. What do you think?
DoctorK: Well since the draft isn’t completely over yet, I think it’s still possible that I will be moved elsewhere, but… no matter where I get moved, I think there are really difficult players in every group so it won’t matter.
Announcers: So there’s nothing specific you really want to ask of Bisu? (Since they are on the same team)
DoctorK: Yes I don’t have anything specific, but I get a feeling I will be moved even without asking anything.
Announcers: Okay thank you.
07:33
Announcers:Let’s get the mic to fantasy~ You’ve definitely gained fame as being a formidable terran, but you’ve never had a victory at the MSL. Before when talking to Horang2, he stated he wanted at least 2 victories, Fantasy – what do you think? What is your goal for this season?
fantasy: This is my third time at the MSL and I’ve always been eliminated in the 32nd round in 2 losses. This time I want to make it to the 8th round and get a seed, and this time, 5 people from our team have made it. I want to survive the longest out of all of them.
Announcers: Oh~ well right now you are playing Tempest. Do you like that?
fantasy: I would have been fine with anyone, but now that I’ve been put next to Tempest… last time I lost to him only to dark templars so I think this is a good time to get revenge. I like it.
Announcers: Oh~ okay.
08:34
Announcers: Okay, if we keep passing the mic, we can get it to Much, who has finally awoken from his nap.
08:40
Nal_rA He still looks very sleepy.
Announcers: Oh, he must be very tired… with the passing of time (joke referring to his age). Okay Much! Nice to talk to you!
Much: Yes. Same here.
Announcers: You must be very tired! I heard you talked late last night with Nal_Ra on the phone!
Much: It’s not that we talked for a long time; I made a call to him very late at night.
Announcers: Oh, so you called him?
Much: Yes.
Announcers: But you guys aren’t even dating, why would you call so late?
Much: Well I think I originally called him around midnight but he called me back around 4 a.m.
Announcers: Ah~ so he initially didn’t pick up and called you back really late.
Much: Yes.
Announcers: What did you talk about?
Much: Ah… I’m not so sure.
Announcers: What’s going on here??
09:20
Announcers: Well okay, Much, right now your opponent is by.hero. What do you think?
Much: I don’t really care but I don’t like being indifferent.
Announcers: Oh~ then what group do you want to go to?
Much: Me… well I wouldn’t care if I played firebathero, I just really wanted to play Nada… but it seems like the groups have already been arranged so I will just play hard in my “indifferent” group.
Announcers: Oh~ so you’re saying a match with by.hero is one of indifference! Okay~ then let’s get the mic to Kwanro next to you.
09:52
Announcers: Kwanro! Right now you are playing Luxury. Please say one last word, whether it be you want to move or your feelings on playing him.
Kwanro: I’ll play hard.
Announcers: So he’s saying he likes his group!
10:23
Announcers: We’ll reveal the best talker prize last – right now, we’re giving away the special Nintendo DS award! Once the name is revealed, may the winner please go up next to the woman MC.
10:34
Announcers: Nintendo DS – It’s Sea! Writers, fans, staff, and players alike agreed about this.
11:09
Announcers: Sea, congratulations!
11:10
Announcers: Now please take a seat Sea!
11:14
Announcers: Oh wait, let’s hear what he has to say about it! Sea! Don’t sit down!
11:23
Woman: Congratulations Sea! I noticed this while watching before but it seems you personally take a step backwards while provoking fights between other players! What do you think?
Sea: My personality is a bit like that, so I think that’s why it came across that way.
Woman You must feel happy because you won such a great prize due to your personality. So is your plan to provoke fights in other players this time?
Sea: Well truthfully, I don’t really like these kind of games (Nintendo DS) so my plan is to give it to Saint on my team.
Announcers: Oh, he’s nice. He has manners! Please be seated Sea.
12:12
Announcers: Next is our best provoker award. Who do you guys think it is!
Fans: MAGMA!
Announcers: Okay, this prize is a yepp mp3 player. His race is terran. His team – is Samsung Khan! FIREBATHERO!
12:40
Announcers: Ah, seems like he’s not going to go home empty-handed this time either.
Nal_rA The expression he just wore is, “Oh, it’s me again?”
Announcers: No no, his expression meant, “I wanted to win the computer laptop, what - I only get this?”
13:03
Announcers: The two of them (firebathero and the woman mc) must not even feel awkward anymore because he’s won an award so many times.
13:10
Announcers: Firebathero, this time you got the best provoker award. What do you think?
firebathero: With each steal draft, I feel very thankful to win such great awards so I feel great.
13:24
firebathero: There was also something else I wanted to say. There have been times I’ve been at the MSL and JiSung(?) noona (affectionate term for older sister/girl; he’s referring to the woman mc) wasn’t here. But whenever JiSung noona was here, there’s never been a time I wasn’t there. I just want to say thank you.
13:40
Announcers: Wow~ please make eye contact with one another!
(awkwardly look at each other)
13:43
Announcers: They look good together~
13:47
Announcers: Yes, the color contrast of their skin looks great together.
13:57
Announcers: Oh~ Savior is looking on intensely.
14:05
Announcers: Now lastly, the owner of the new laptop! The best talker award! Let’s shout it together!
14:12
Fans: MAGMA!!!
Announcers: Hurry on out, Magma!
14:20
Announcers: Wow, his first appearance at the MSL and he gets the talker king award! Yes, you really can’t ignore his great performance today! He seems happier than if he had won the actual MSL!
14:44
Announcers: Yes, just with his one expression, that laptop became his.
14:52
Announcers: Let’s hear what he has to say!
Woman MC: Magma, before I heard you talk before in the waiting room. There was something I was curious about. Is your stare normally that scary?
maGma: Normally my eyes are my complex (the physical feature he dislikes most), but yes, my stare is usually like that.
Woman MC: Then with your complex you were able to win such a great award - you must be thankful to your eyes!
maGma: Yes, today I am very thankful to my eyes. Also, during parts 1 and 2 it was so boring, I said to myself, “mic, try even coming to me” (as in he was going to be crazy once it got to him), and decided to really show a performance. I’m very glad it finally got to me in Part 3.
Announcers: Where are you originally from?
maGma: KyungLamGiMae (Probably asked because he has an interesting dialect when he speaks).
Announcers: Ah~
Woman MC: Well, since you’ve received this award, time to show us one more time that stare! That stare that was once your complex! Please look at the camera and strongly stare at it!
15:46
Announcers: Looks like Magma’s stare will be searched #1 in the search engines again! Please show us!
15:50 – fans start screaming in anticipation as Magma turns around.
Announcers: He really does have a charming stare~
16:02
Announcers: Yes, with that charming stare he was able to walk away with that laptop.
16:06
Announcers: Looks like everyone will have to type “GG” right away.
16:14
Announcers: Upmagic looks so jealous right now!
16:26 – Camera shows Magma making interesting expressions
Announcers: He’s really enjoying it!
(Magma switches from blank expression to smiling, back and forth – Firebathero is known for doing that.)
Announcers: Ah~ we thought only Firebathero was capable of such expressions!
16:40
Announcers: Magma! Oh, there’s no need to give him a mic. Magma, you must make it into the 8th round and get a seed! You have to take responsibility for your words!
16:47 – Magma nods
16:55
Announcers: Now, based on how Jangbi and Bisu make their decisions, everything can change. Let’s take a look at the first player who will decide! (Jangbi)
17:41
Announcers: That was Jangbi! Yes, the praise is just pouring in.
17:52
Announcers: Right now the group you are in is C.
JangBi: Yes.
Announcers: How are you feeling about everything?
JangBi: They’ve made things so interesting up till now, I was having a lot of fun watching.
18:02
Announcers: Then let’s move on and hear the choices you will make. Right now you are next to Iris, what will you choose? You have 3 choices.
JangBi: There’s no particular choice I personally want to make… But Firebathero and Stork hyung have made some requests so I plan on fulfilling them.
18:15
Announcers: Oh~ Firebathero and Stork~
18:20
Announcers: For your first two choices, you can go out and personally do it.
JangBi: Oh out there?
Announcers: Yes, will you personally do it?
18:28
Announcers: Jangbi is getting up and personally making his choices.
18:43
Announcers: He brought Hwasin over!
18:48
Announcers: Jangbi, let’s hear about your first choice. Why did you do that?
JangBi: It seemed like Firebathero hyung really wanted it. So that’s why I did it.
Announcers: Oh~ we see. Then let’s see your second choice.
19:04 – Jangbi takes Magma’s name and puts it next to Stork.
19:10
Announcers: Ah~ you’ve sent Horang2 back and brought Magma next to Stork!
19:14
Announcers: What exactly did Stork say when he made that request?
JangBi: He just said that if I don’t have any particular choices to make, to do that for him.
Announcers: Oh~ we see.
19:27
Announcers: Then your 3rd choice! You have one more. Of course, you can also just forfeit the choice.
JangBi: I’ll just give up the 3rd choice.
Announcers: Oh~~ okay.
19:35
Announcers: So he basically just listened to his two teammates requests and gave up his last remaining choice.
19:42
Announcers: Jangbi is also insinuating he is pleased with his own group and wants to see Hwasin vs. Savior and Magma vs. Stork.
20:00
Announcers: Please hold on to the mic Jangbi.
JangBi: Sure sure.
Announcers: Last season, you reached the finals and got 2nd place; after that, have there been any changes you’ve made?
JangBi: Oh wait – is the choice I just gave up… can I not get it back now?
Announcers: No, you can, you can if you want. We haven’t moved on to Bisu yet so you can.
JangBi: I was looking at the board and noticed that in Group B there were two Sparkyz (Leta and Horang2).
Announcers: Yes, since Horang2 was sent back in there when he was switched with Magma.
Nal_rA: Horang2 was ripping his hair out again while all of this was taking place.
20:31 – Camera shows Horang2 hiding his face.
20:35
Announcers: Right now there are 3 people in heavy talk – Sea, Stork, and Jangbi. Seems like Sea is lending his thoughts to Jangbi. Sea again, in the middle… (implying Sea is again provoking something)
20:50
Announcers: Have you made your decision?
20:53
Announcers: But why are you telling all of that to Stork and not to Jangbi?
JangBi: Huh?
Announcers: I mean I was talking to Sea after I noticed he just kept talking to Stork. Jangbi, what do you plan to do?
JangBi: Take Horang2 off…
Announcers: Okay – Horang2 in Group B off…
JangBi: And switch him with Luxury.
Announcers: Oh~ Luxury in Group D. Looks like now he’ll have to play Kal.
21:22
Announcers: Your reason for this?
JangBi: It’s just something I noticed.
Announcers: Ah, okay. Then to continue on from what I was asking before, after the last MSL – please don’t drop the mic - you’ve been relatively successful. Are there any specific changes you’d like to note?
JangBi: Last season I felt I was so close. Therefore this season I will work doubly harder to win.
21:58
Announcers: You’re also saying you have the confidence to do so.
JangBi: Yes.
Announcers: Okay. We just looked at Jangbi’s choices.
22:14 – 22:34 - Announcer reads the current matchups.
22:35
Announcers: There is still one player left – let’s watch him on the screen.
23:18
Announcers: It’s B I S U !
23:24 – Fans scream his name in unison.
Announcers: Hello Bisu!
23:40 – Camera shows crazy fanart
Announcers: Ah~ yes, it really looks like a photograph. Now, you have choices to make – will you go out and do it yourself or just say it?
23:58
Announcers: Ah yes, saying that 4th kiss will occur in the Lost Saga MSL 2009.
24:06
Announcers: Okay, so will you go out and do it or just say it?
Bisu: I’ll just say it.
Announcers: Ah, we see. With your mouse. (lame joke)
Bisu: I’m the #1 seed but I think it took forever to get to me… this draft process… my hip hurts, I’m hungry, and I’m also sleepy… even the prizes Sea, Firebathero, and Magma won.
24:33
Announcers: Well then you can just win the whole thing (MSL).
Bisu: (laughs) Well my point was that I think it took too long for the 1st seed and I hope in the future they’ll make things a bit quicker.
Announcers: Oh~ he’s saying that because he’s an idol and he won 1st place~
Bisu laughter in the background.
24:50
Announcers: Now, let’s hear your choices.
Bisu: Mm… firstly… Magma –
Announcers: Oh yes, Magma!
25:03 – Camera shows Magma laughing.
Bisu: I’m still contemplating whether or I should play him or not…
25:11 – Fans shouting random answers
Announcers: Magma just keeps getting shuffled around!
Bisu (to audience): Should I?
Audience: (mixed answers)
Bisu laughs.
25:17
Bisu: Please switch with Forgg.
Announcers: Oh~ so you’re not going to be personally playing him~ what’s the reason behind it?
25:32
Bisu: Well, instead of making him my opponent I wanted to play him in the winner’s match. I think beating him there would feel better too. So that’s why I put it like that.
Announcers: So then you’re saying that you do want to play Flash and feel confident in beating him! Though I guess it’s too early to tell since you still have choices left.
25:56
Announcers: Okay! Your second choice.
Bisu: Well, the other groups sparked my interest.
26:04
Bisu: Take Savior –
Announcers: Savior! Savior in Group F!
Bisu: And switch him with Jaedong.
Announcers: Ah~~~ he’s switching them top and bottom! No one can change this now! This is final!
26:23
Announcers: Oh~ Hwasin vs. Jaedong now!
26:27
Announcers: Is this something you thought of personally or did Savior make this request to you himself?
Bisu: Huh?
Announcers: Why did you make that decision?
Bisu: Well… but if I leave it like this my group will be so boring.
Announcers: Oh~ so you’re saying you’re not done!
26:43
Bisu: Please take Flash…
Announcers: Okay, Flash!
Bisu: …and switch him with Savior.
(Fans go crazy.)
Announcers: Oh~~~ Ah!!!
26:58
Announcers: We would never have guessed this!
27:04
Announcers: This is only getting bigger.
27:07
Announcers: But he’s sitting right next to you! (referring to Savior right next to Bisu). They’re unable to look at each other right now.
27:12 – Camera shows the fan sign from before where Savior is cuddling Bisu.
Announcers: Tainting such warm relationships like this! Okay, why did you do that?
Bisu: I was thinking about it from the start, whether or not I should pick Savior, and even thought about telling Savior too. But… 2 years ago, Savior told me to win 3 times and then go to him.
27:33
Announcers: And you have!
Bisu: Yes, he mentioned that in an interview before, and now I have won 3 victories, and I personally wanted to pick him for a game so I decided to make this choice.
27:46
Announcers: So you kept your promise and returned.
Nal_rA: For some reason I feel like I had a large part to do with this (before he kept mentioning Savior/Bisu relationship).
Announcers: Wow, this isn’t even a joke.
27:57
Announcers: Yes, like this it became Hwasin vs. Jaedong and Firebathero vs. Flash. What about this Group, Group F? Did you think about that group too?
Bisu: It seemed like Firebathero really wanted to play zerg… but after putting Flash in there, this seems pretty okay too.
28:19
Bisu: I wanted to put a protoss there (next to Firebathero) but… well, he’ll probably lose later.
Announcers: So you’re you saying currently you didn’t really think too hard about it and are just thinking he’ll lose later on.
28:33
Announcers: Okay, that was Bisu’s last decision, please give him a round of applause!
28:39
Announcers: Wow, finally, it is complete. This is final – no one can change this now, so we’re going to have to go through the season like this. Then we’ll show all of you the finalized board!
28:55 – Camera shows finalized board – Announcer reads matchups again.
29:35
Announcers: It’s finally complete! What do you guys think (to other announcers)
Announcers: Well I think things worked out pretty evenly – and certain fateful matchups have been placed like the one between Savior and Bisu. And personally, I have a lot of interest in how Group F will play out. Nal_Ra, what do you think?
Nal_rA: Well firstly, I think Group A and Group F obviously attract a lot of attention. I think the Group E is also attractive – makes me wonder which terran will make it out. Leta is also doing well lately – I wonder how he and Horang2 will do.
30:27
Announcers: The next match is revealed! Bisu vs. Savior! Magma vs. Zero!
31:10
Announcers: Everyone, this is just the start! Starting next week it will all begin! Thank you for staying tuned in thus far – GOODBYE!
(LOL at Flash getting up right away and squatting)
- END
Translator Note (Smix): I wanted to apologize for the late update for this last part (part 4). I hope that the translations were as amusing for you and entertaining to read as it was for me when I first watched the MSL selection. Hopefully your interest in these progamers has only increased. I again apologize for the amount of errors that are undoubtedly present in these translations – however, like I said before, I at least wanted to get you guys a basic gist of what was going on. Happy reading!
