What kind of statement is this? Academic goals? Sports goals? On a tangentially related note, how many people on this site even know what ivy league sports are like (like firsthand)?

he went to my high school. He's a nice guy.
He was in fact recruited, he's a pretty smart guy (not amazing, not a brick), and he's 6'1". He lead my high school team to a state champ (california). Pretty cool really that someone else would notice him. He's got a brother who's pretty good at basketball as well.

I had elementary school classes with him but I haven't talked to him since. Pretty damn surreal to hear about him this way.

Amen.
Ack, dude until you get a Red tag of power don't patrol teamliquid and try to 'improve' blogs. Blogs are about opinions or personal subject matter. How come I've been here since 2002 and can't think of any great post you ever made.
Don't go around 'fixing' peoples non-broken blogs. Sterotypes are fine , being racially concious is a huge american ideal ... being proud doesn't hurt anybody its is like saying its wrong for a 60 year old black man who can remember the 60's and 70's crying about an Obama.
You are the worst kind of troll..... Instead of contributing anything you actually derailed it, nice try on improvement do gooder.
To the op,
Dude his breakaway speed is sick. In the second part of the video if the point had shot the ball up he could have layed it up so clean.

Ack's right about all caps, we usually don't allow that even for blogs.

But I think him trying to pseudo mod brought unneeded hostility into a new thread. That's worse than something as minor as capital letters.

I think a pm to you or somebody else sporting gang colors to fix a thread title would be more effective.
Even said he took it a step further and took it upon himself to point out all of the things he thought were wrong about the entire concept of the blog. Every thing on teamliquid would suck if people were more concerned with helping moderate and not actually posting and engaging in the community.
Do you want cowboys like this 'helping' the forum? If he wasn't just trying to make a name for himself he would message a mod. Since when does posting in the website feedback area give you the right to start enactng your judgements on peopls blogs .....

He typed out what I was thinking when I read it, but was too lazy to type. I endorse this message. ^_^

If he was recruited, I can almost guarentee you that he is nowhere near average by that school's standards academically. I know what Princeton hoops players are like, there are some with 800SAT scores in there (out of 1600). Then again that was Will Venable (sp) and he's now on the verge of hitting the major leagues with the Padres.

That's weird because you needed to score at least a 900 on SAT to get recruited, I watched an ESPN story about this high school ball team and this kid got accepted after scoring like a 920

he did fairly well on the sat's and remember that starting my grade (graduating class of 06 in hs) we had a new sat out of 2400. He was probably around 2k or so, although I don't remember exactly.
