For instance, the lines, A light flicked on, and suddenly the world was much clearer. Clouds were gathering as the two wearily hiked the final couple kilometres back to the house. Obviously mean that you guys had sex. Like Hemingway, Steph emphasizes not that which is said, but which is not said. The several line break in there shows that SOMETHING must've happened, but what? Well, the light flicked on. Or shall we say, the light of passion and arousal flicked on. And then the world becomes clearer, indicating a raised level of awareness and feeling. Does this remind you of anything? How about the euphoric moments of a couple's climax during sex? Furthermore, Steph desires a continuation of this relationship beyond sex. The clouds gather after your intimate encounter, heralding the bounty of life and joy that will rain down upon you two as you two hike together down the paths of your lives. Yes, it will be a weary hike, but you will eventually reach your house, which can mean both more committal towards each other and of course, more sex! And the hooker part, obviously represents the timeless struggle to discard one's own tendencies towards untempered, animalistic passion without any commitment to a relationship. While Ed(you) walks slowly face to face towards the hooker, Steph succeeds in stopping the hooker from advancing upon you by overpowering it with her own net gun of love. You then dump the hooker in the dark alleyway along with all the other foul flaws of human nature that deserve to be there. Awkwardness, the police chase, and you two losing each other ensue, indicating the torment and inner conflict you undergo after having relinquished such a core part of your identity. However, Steph once again finds you after you feel the severity of her loss(and therefore feel the value of her in your life). And that's when you guys have sex(in nature, of course). And when the hooker dies later on television after you two fondle the cute little pussy, it shows that you will never revert back to your old life and be with her forever. Maybe you should be worried. | ||
