If Clem wins this also would help TL a lot on the Club Championship

Clem is dominating Serral like we've used to see from Serral vs the field.
This is the way to go, Clem! Pushing the limits further.
Saying it already: VERY Deserved victory Clem, GG!

Someone needs to tell Serral to speed-dial Ryung and switch to terran

Serral handily defeated Maru a couple of days ago and cleaned up Dark easily. But against Clem, he seems to be out of ideas. This shows that skill >>>> anything else

Serral just doesn't seem to be making the right strategic calls, and micro execution, like why were those roaches going to corner themselves near the gas at the start, felt perfect for Clem to sandwich with scvs and win..
Feels like he is keeping up with Clem just about but maybe that's taking all his effort and focus away from the bigger picture.

The question with Clem was always could he more consistently deliver it, plus round out his TvT, the matchup where sheer speed is less of a win condition. He reminds me of a tennis player who’s trying to hit winners off every shot. If they can nail it consistently they’ll blow you off the court, but it’s very high risk high reward stuff. As I was typing this of course game 3 is maybe going in a direction where Clem doesn’t have to be quite as on-point
I felt on Clem he generally has been able to consistently outmicro his opponents. His micro was always very stable. However, (a) not always to the extent he is doing this tournament (b) Previously he would have other holes in his gameplay, e.g. weak to runbys or not having a plan-b.
It feels like he doesn't suffer from B anymore. He can be behind in a game, and still defend and be able to turn the game around through outplays. It felt in the past he didn't know how to defend when getting behind.

Good point if true, 400k is worth a bit of wrist pain. Hopefully there's some more to earn in the future though.

WTH.....Clem is playing like a GOD
Serral isnt playing even that badly, but is being stomped like a scrub in a laddergame, lol
Of course, its not the Prime Serral either unfortunately, which is what we would need to get more even series. Absolutely master class from Clem.
Go Serral, try to reach deep !

He would have died both times if he went for the standard 3CC 2 Banshee build.

On Ghost River the 4th is hard to hold, the 5th impossible and the 6th might as well not exist for Zerg. Macro play just isn't possible. I'm guessing the 3-base Ultra rush Serral did against Maru hits too late, or he just doesn't believe it can work against Clem. So that leaves Roaches. It's a 5-0 in the making, but losing Ghost River to one of the most aggressive players in the world after a failed rush is not unexpected.
That's not to say Clem isn't doing eveyrthing right. Killing the drone that's suppose to build the 3rd base should not happen.

this is what I expect to see in TvZ.
Punish the Z for doing roach attacks early, keep Z honest with multi drops and don't let zerg just eat the whole damn map with 90+ drones.
We used to see this quite alot, finally Clem is able to implement this again.

I think the rumours lately have been more positive about future big tournaments, honestly I don't think anyone knows either way.

i would like to know Marus opinion right now

Btw, the level of innovations in this tournament is insane. I've never ever seen Terrans deny hatcheries like what Clem has done. Surely something that he practiced to gain an advantage

Then Serral - cannot lose to any other terran player - but against Clem he can't do anything.
It is like Artosis says - it's a whole new level of skill we never seen before. On the other hand he's trading series back and forth with Ragnarok while Maru has never lost to Ragnarok in his life. It's really weird
The discrepancy of Clems TvZ vs Serral compared to his TvZ vs all other Zergs is odd. Maru has higher win rates vs basically every other Zerg besides Serral including Reynor but literally can't beat Serral while Clem occasionally has these brutal one sided series (though has an overall losing record) against him despite regularly dropping series to Zergs like Solar/Ragnarok and being 50-50 with Reynor.

Serral going for roaches again. Clem ready for it, again.

Perhaps he now knows how ‘just play like Maru’ felt like for other Terrans!
