I mean, you obviously can't see it because clem isn't korean but he indeed played the race at his very limits while Maru was crushed by another white dude.

I do but I never saw him play at this level against serral and for maxpax, well, he was struggling a bit against him lately.

Speaking of white guys...
Clem's run in SC2 mirrors the Ultimate Warrior's run through pro wrestling in the late 1980s. After Watching Clem defeat Serral... Now I know how millions felt when the Ultimate Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan clean at WrestleMania 6. 😎
Anyhow, the event was great. The competition was great. I am glad Artosis and Tasteless played it straight and did not constantly tell inside jokes to each other that only make sense to 39 year olds. Tastosis did a great job. Everyone did a great job. Great event. Great maps.
Well done by all!
15 years and $140 and I am still getting my money's worth!

Also balance aside, Hero is 32 years old. 32 years is not the prime age of SC2 or BW. SC2 prime age has always been around 17 years old to 26 years old. A few people have won championship younger than that range, and older than that range. But most SC2 champions have been in that age range. And the same thing for BW during the KESPA era.
I don't expect a 32 year old to be performing at the top of his/her game. How many Terrans players were the best Terran players in the world at 32 years old? If we ignore the first 2 years when SC2 wasn't as competitive (ie. before KESPA came into SC2), the oldest Terran player to be the best Terran player in the world was probably Innovation when he was around 25 to 26 years old? I don't recall a Terran player older than 25 to 26 years old, that was the best Terran player in the world. Maru is 27 now, but I don't think SC2 these days is near as competitive as during the KESPA era, or the few years after KESPA era when some of the ex-KESPA players were still young enough.
Clem is 22 and is in the prime age for SC2. And congratz to him for his play in this tournament.
One last thing. Probably one of the best Protoss players in the world who is in his prime age, is MaxPax. Unfortunately, MaxPax refuses to come out to play in offline events (and maybe he would perform badly in offline events if he gets nervous in front of a crowd anyways).

That's nice to hear from a fan who started reading my work 6 months ago.

That said, why is there no giant banner on TL.net or teamliquid.com celebrating Clem's accomplishment?!

Just caught up on this, absolutely amazing games this tournament (except the finals day lol). Love the format of the tournament too! Is it announced yet whether SC2 will be played at next year's tournament?
Also, what's the next big offline tournament? I haven't been following SC2 closely for a while but didn't realize the quality of the games had gotten so good!

In early september we get an offline tournament in Bulgaria with a good lineup, including the World Champion. But beyond that, we are completly in the dark sadly
