I haven't felt sad for a German loss since like 2018, the "Mannschaft" was so unlikeable at times. But this time I am actually sad. It feels now we finally have a team again. They won me over.
The tournament probably was two years too early for them (despite the average age of the players is kind of high, I believe I read that somewhere). They missed a lot of very good chances in this game and a championship team just makes one or two more goals in this game. In the end, you get punished for this by actual championship teams, and that kind of happened with the last goal.
The handball though... I absolutely cannot believe that he did not even look at this. So many horrible penalties for really stupid handballs that don't really do anything... but this one is a shot on target and the arm is not even close to the body. That is just bonkers. If that was indeed a correct call, the technicalities of this rule are just stupid.
Spain indeed looks vulnerable and beatable.
On a sidenote: there is some seriously horrible people in this thread. It was a blast following what most of you wrote, but man, there is some exceptions.
I think this loss has to go to hansi flick and DFB... They chose way too late to stop working with hansi flcik

After the intensity of Spain and Germany going at it, these look like 22 geriatrics playing an afternoon game. That little flick by Leão was beautiful but neither team seems to.have any creativity or intensity.

Is the guy with the drum having some kind of medical episode?

Is Ronaldo honestly still worth putting on the field? Simply his narcissism alone has to be infuriating for teammates which I'd imagine gets you out of your game, and it's not like he's showing many flashes of brilliance.
(Awaits the future to prove him wrong)

I hope despite all the discussions here we can agree that the Ger Esp game was great and thrilling to watch!

(Awaits the future to prove him wrong) Probably not, Ramos would have banged a couple if got those 400 minutes instead.

Portugese love ronaldo with all their heart I think

Who do you think will win? I would give it to Portugal. But I have no clue how the game went, had to do stuff for the first 30 mins.

incorrect. It was at his peak probably 70 30 in best case. A lot of people always said he was a problem not a solution for the NT because others were scared of not passing the ball to him and not be called back to the team anymore after that.
Today it just shows more because he is not scoring, but before it was already like now.

I have heard that C Ronaldos free kicks are not good, why is he taking them then?
Edit: Ok I have been wrong, he doesnt take them all

That guy has scored 130 goals for Portugal. I doubt he ever was the problem before this tournament...

Ufff. I guess that's the risk of playing with a broken nose and a mask to protect it, but Mbappe really just can't play freely with it, and it's showing. Both teams seem to be playing with a "star" player who can't show it, Mbappe due to injury and Ronaldo due to age.

Imagine if the other 10 players were free to play what they know instead of being forced to pass every single ball to him.
France looks a little numb and Portugal looks a little less scared now, but still very slow game.
OMG vitinha

Yes. I see so many great teams with players play like those great players want and then at the end they are missing the goals because none of them are goalscorers. Goals > play style in football

Vitinha vs Camavinga. Who can throw harder?
Dembelé definitely more dangerous than Griezmann this game.

It was not as snoozy as I thought, at least the second half.
