1) Edward Norton got robbed out of 2 Oscars IMO. His performance in American History X was absolutely amazing, as was his performance in Primal Fear (especially considering that was his debut film). T______T!
2) Daniel Day-Lewis got robbed in Gangs of New York. His portrayal of the Butcher is one of the best/most complete performances of a character I've ever seen... in my opinion, Adrien Brody got it because voters were sympathetic to the whole Holocaust deal rather than his performance being truly amazing.
3) Johnny Depp and George Clooney should NOT have gotten nominations for Sweeny Todd and Michael Clayton, respectively... seriously wtf was that?
4) I didn't realize Dustin Hoffman had gotten so many awards / nominations.
That's it for now, and yes I realize these are all academy award related... I was just looking up shit right now about it.

1) Both great performances unquestionably. The case for Primal Fear is probably better than for American History X. Roberto Benigni was really amazing in Life is Beautiful. I think for supporting, it could've gone to Norton, Gooding Jr. (winner), or William H. Macy for Fargo.
2) Again, tough call. Day-Lewis was great, but he's always great. You must have missed the second half of The Pianist if you don't think Brody was absolutely amazing.
3) I agree but it doesn't matter. No one was beating Day-Lewis for TWWB. Brando himself could've risen from the grave, made a Godfather IV, and would still have lost.
4) Dustin Hoffman rocks. Check out Midnight Cowboy, Straw Dogs, Papillon and Kramer vs. Kramer if you haven't seen them already. (Assuming you've seen stuff like The Graduate, Marathon Man, All The President's Men, Rain Man)

I dont know. If you mean overrated as in "OMG DARK KNIGHT #1 MOVIE ALL TIME" - then yes, it is overrated. But if you want to say something like "best superhero movie" or, a REALLY good movie, it is not overrated. It's great, but not one of the greatest all-time. If you take out the Joker, it's just an average movie, his performance is what put it over the top.

No offense, but hellboy 2 was the shittiest movie I have ever seen that I left before watching the end. (Unless the end after the princess stabs herself was so EPIC to be able to compensate for the rest of the movie.)
1. The plot was based on a 3 minute Clip with Hellboy and his Father @ the start of the movie. 2. The characters were UGLY. True, hellboy needs the ugly ruffian look, but the 2x Elven twins could have been much better. (View LOTR for example) 3. Elf sister saves the day by stabbing herself in the heart. (this causes main antagonist to die because they have a connection.) She could have fucking done this @ the start and avoided this whole filler of a movie. True, perhaps Elf Sister and Ear/Aqua Man had a semi-'thing' going on, but if that was the only reason she sacrificed herself for them, it certainly eliminates the whole " I must save the world" theme she had going.
4. A good movie has good character development. This movie had none. It certainly tried to, with the unborn baby of Fire-Girl + Hellboy, Hellboy Ego vs Metallic Robot of Gas Ego, but the pathetic attempts ultimately led no where.
5. What was good about this movie? The storyline and fighting scenes itself were worse than "Power Rangers" and Power Rangers even had some nice twists like Tommy the Green Ranger goes Evil.
Lastly, if the only name I can remember after watching this movie is "hellboy", then this movie did a crap job of holding my attention.
