The reason I'm writing this blog today is mainly because I want to know if this is normal:
First, to explain, I want to mention that I grew up without experiencing much pain. I always do hear about others spraining an ankle or breaking a bone somehow, but it never happens to me.
That being said, today I fell pretty hard on my left ankle and twisted it after jumping for a rebound while playing basketball. That SHOULD sound normal, almost as routine as having a bagel for breakfast, but I took it differently. I became so paranoid, thinking I might've broken a bone, that I might have to go to the ER and disable the use of my left foot for a week or so. I'm trying to think it's because I experienced that kind of pain for the first time, but after talking to my friend, he said I'm overreacting. I was able to limp a bit, so it's nothing too serious. After a while, we got into the subject of perhaps me having a rather bad case of OCD, because my friend also noticed other possibly related issues such as my tendency to hesitate when faced with fast decision-making, my overreaction around bugs, and my recent fear of the sight of blood/breaking a body part, just to name a few. Perhaps a more extreme example was the one time when I was driving after picking up some food. I spilled my drink, so I immediately go for picking that up instead of focusing on the road. I was lucky that I didn't hit the curb; I was pretty damn close.
I'd appreciate some feedback, if possible. I consider myself rather naiive, so apologies ahead of time if this is making a mountain out of a molehill. Thanks!
EDIT: Actually, is it normal to feel a line, almost like a vein around the ball area of my ankle? I'm having a hard time rotating it, too.

hmmm get hurt more often, then youll be used to it, and youll know that its not as bad as you think, and you wont overreact anymore
for the driving thing, i think that's just getting your priorities straight
im also one who never experienced a lot of physical pain like twisting ankles and whatnot. but i dont overreact. i usually just see it like, "damnit this hurts, and its inconvenient"

I've sprained both of my ankles 5-6 times playing basketball. If you can walk on it, then it isn't broken. At worst just a bad sprain. Sounds like you just need to get de-sensitized.

If you can stand on it, and it just hurts a lot. Then its not broken. If you cannot stand on it, then maybe it is. Remember bones are like the scaffolding for muscles. If theres something wrong with the bone, then the muscles are not going to work properely.
Ive broken 2 bones in my life, my arm and my ankle and I knew I had broken them within minutes of the event happening. Its one of those things you kinda know. If your not sure if you have or not, chances are you havent.
Still, rest it, ice it, look after it. Even if it isnt a broken bone, its still a damaged joint.

my last accident happened because of exactly what you described.

I have an uncle who got hit by a car when he was 18. Some guy helped him stand up, and his bone snapped through his ankle... His ankled got broken during the accident, but it wasn't bad until he put weight on it. So I mean, if your ankle was actually broken. You would be in a lot of pain. Not saying you would go through the same thing my uncle did, but it would be severe.
