Original announcement below
As the name suggest, ASUS ROG Online 2020 will be held completely online due to the active pandemic making it impossible to hold live events as we usually do. Nevertheless, we are excited to reveal that on top of the $15,000 USD prize purse ASUS ROG Online 2020 will be part of ESL Pro Tour and handing out 1,280 EPT points. ASUS ROG Online 2020 will have its effect on the EPT rankings and advance players to become the next StarCraft II World Champion.
The event will span three days starting on Friday, November 27 and ending on Sunday, November 29. A total of sixteen players will fight in a traditional StarCraft II tournament format with GSL-style groups followed by single elimination playoffs. Half of the players are invited directly based on their EPT ranking while the rest are decided by online qualifiers on in the previous weekend on November 20-22. Check the qualifier details below - the signups for the qualifiers are already open!

Half the players being invited based on the current ranking when so many points are on the line is not ideal, but nice to have another event. In practice it's only going to be players who have more than enough points already and to whom the points don't matter much that get invited I suppose, so it's unlikely to give too much drama.

These EPT will be crucial for some EU players.

Link to the qualifiers doesn't work for me. Is it a global event?

Nice! We always need some more late fall/ early winter tournaments.

8 invites in a 16 player event with ESL points on the line this late into the season seems kinda questionable. But I'm always down for more tournaments.

Doesnt really impact anything in EU, considering there is a clear top-4 already and they will be invited again. For NA probably only Neeb will qualify as I assume eu players can play in the NA one once again.

Invites don't really make sense with EPT points split by region this year
Nice to see another tournament tho

they could do it based on only global points (i.e. without any of the regional points counting)

Qualifiers are not locked from what the official page states, so even Koreans can qualify via the NA qualifier.
