To prove a point. What are you retarted? You and all you other nai-sayers when it comes to religion why don't you just shut the fuck up. It's not the fact that some people have different oppinions that's pissing me off it's about constantly forcing your own opinion on someone else. Which is btw a nice little history twist if you think about it.
It's simply not important, people. What matters is what you personaly believe in and if it makes you happy and keeps you on track. That's the friggin fucking point!! It doesn't matter if she ate an apple or a banana or if there really is a place that anal probes you for eternety.
So you have your own theories and this whole christ thing doesnt sound right to you anyway. O the fuck K. Grow up and learn to respect other peoples way of life and view on life. All these debunking missions miss the point of religion by miles. And i'm stunned that in this time and age people still dont get that. Its a personal way of life to pursue happyness and peace. Either it works for you or not. You are free to believe in whatever you want.
I know that most of you are kids or in their early twentys. You need to chill out, grab your backpack and travel around the world. And then learn trough the lesson of dealing with different cultures how there are many ways of life and how you can pick out the things that work for you and make you happy.
btw. im not a christian

+1 religious thread at teamliquid...

Jayson X, your post is a disgrace. Seriously.
Religion to some may be a personal road to happiness. That's true enough. That doesn't justify everything that's done in the name of religion.
When I get bit by a person who's doing it "for God," I'm going to question his belief, and I might try to dissuade others from similar beliefs in the hope that it will reduce the chance that I'll get bitten by another religious maniac. Now, ridiculing my efforts by saying that religion is a personal thing, and thereby implying that it's not my business, neglects to consider my motivation for butting into other people's personal decisions - because their "personal" decisions end up affecting me.
I have absolutely no problem with people obeying their God, as long as it doesn't hurt me. As such, I have a problem with pretty much everyone who makes it known to me that he is religious. Unfair? I don't think so.
You really did do a good job of taking your own advice, though. Pick and choose the pieces you like. Conveniently ignore the rest. I'd invite you to open your eyes, but something tells me that doing so might cause some sort of psychological harm.

Sorry about my last night. When I get tired I get mean? It sucks hahaha but I am sorry. I dont know if I could delete it? But If the op of the blog would be as kind to delete the last post of mine I would appreciate it.
I'm not trying to debunk anything. Just wanted a half decent quality debate with my fellow teamliquiders.
I just find pursuing happiness in a fictitious book is mind boggling.

Pursuing happiness in repetitive arm movements is strange too. And just as OK.
But it stops being OK when that arm... er... I'll leave that unfinished.

More simply: Omnipotent, omniscient, or benevolent: pick two.

God is a piece of cloth, some like it blue, some like it red, some brave men like it naked. Pick yours and don't judge.

Omnipotent and omniscient do not have any moral connotations. Benvolence is typically understood to mean "is nice to me" as opposed to "is mean to me," both of which are highly subjective and perhaps influenced by one's perception of "good." However, an omnipotent and omniscient entity would be able, if willing, to appear benevolent to any and all other entities.

Thing is it can help a lot of people. Though not me, I can't believe in something it has no solid reasoning(talking about chistianity now)... hell I can't even obey rules that I find purpuseless. Maybe I could be a budhist or a sun worshipper... I don't know.
On the other hand it's good to have faith that keep you going in the hard times. And also If you are being controlled/brainwashed by one thing the chances are you are immune to all other(possible harmer) forms of the same thing.

lol, i was thinking this thread had 3 pages of flames and disagreements on religion...

a god existence can not be proved ~,nor its non-existence in my honest opinion, a god wouldnt care if you believe in his existence, but he would care if you believe in goodness and friendship, and whatever.. love"? a good example is that if you just get born in an island in the middle of the pacific -with no tv, pc, or ppl to tell you what to do -you just would never know anything about bible , christ, or god, and after some years you will be treating the rain as a goddess and the sun as a god , as done by aztecs , maias and whatever~ that proves that many of our beliefs were created to dominate us, as made by the catholic religion in middle-age(dark-age)with the crusades-and by killing many scientists,"witches"- but the very core of any belief is that you should make the things the right way to reach a heaven/paradise with 17 virgins/eternal life... the common place that we all want to reach is, -peace,faith,justice,valor,honor,courage,love,friendship,dexterity,stamina,intelligence,macro,micro, ok... yeah, you got it.

So, do we still worship the Starcraft gods or.... Also, just for kicks, read the Harry Potter book and every time it says "Harry" you read "Jesus" and every time it says "Voldemort" you read "Satan". Kind of off-topic but also substitute "wand" for "penis".

my main problem with the concept of christianity is all the good people that went to hell simply because they existed before christianity came into existence
that said, i realize religion is a helpful tool for some, go ahead and use it. just don't bother me about it, i won't bother you and we can live together in harmony (atheists/agnostics seem to hold up their end of the bargain.. maybe it's your turn?)
edit: tasteful edit.
