Although this thread does not function under the same strict guidelines as the USPMT, it is still a general practice on TL to provide a source with an explanation on why it is relevant and what purpose it adds to the discussion. Failure to do so will result in a mod action.

I just listened to his opening statement, which does seem to confirm my suspicions that there is a lot more to this story than JWR was saying and that she might have been exaggerating things quite a bit in some cases. He said both of his meetings with her were scheduled at her request. He also seemingly has brought documentary evidence to back up at least some of his claims.
False accusations of everything are sky high. News outlets now live on views and clicks. Many news outlets have evolved into a machinery using anger, outrage, and negativity as its #1 fuel. It will be interesting to see if JWR is manipulating that machinery.
I'm glad to see Patrick Brown won the mayoral election in Brampton. Its proof people are skeptical of accusations that have little to no evidence.
Elizabeth May impressed the hell out of me. I'll never vote for the Green Party , however, I suspect her performance during this kerfuffle has won her some votes. she is a bad ass.
I've said some pessimistic things about young people. I'd like to also offer some optimism as well.
Heartwarming speech yesterday by Mississauga's Bianca Andreescu . She started off 0-3. Gutsy performance. She handles herself so well. So composed. What a total bad ass.
There is hope ....we have some great young canadians coming up!

I remember when i was ~16 there was a guy at my part time job who got picked up and dropped off by his parents every time. Sometimes his parents would talk to the owner of the Gas Station//Garage if they felt they were not "happy" about some issue. It was sad. The rest of us bargained for our hours and scheduling face-to-face with the owner.
Sure enough, when he tried to move away to university he had a "mental breakdown" and ended up going to a university really close to where he lived.

The Agenda is a great show that often covers Canadian politics and Canada's relationship with the USA. Steve Paikin is a fantastic political commentator. This was such a great episode of The Agenda I thought I'd post it here. It appears several users enjoyed it.
Its important for Canadians to keep tabs on what is going on with our #1 customer. The USA.

You need to watch the episode of The Agenda I posted and the part xM(Z highlights to understand the point.
A few days ago you said you were "ignoring my posts" what happened? LOL. You go back and forth on this "I'm ignoring you" policy so many times i can't keep up. I think i'll avoid you altogether. Its probably for the best. Take care.

I was speaking about the post right above mine not two above, not sure where the confusion is from.
I don't understand either. Your question was quite clear. Perhaps an attempt at moving the goalposts? I don't think jjr's upbringing/anecdotal evidence is relevent to the discussion. Correct me if I' wrong. Also the amount of useless youtube videos he posts is mildly annoying.

My personal anecdote relates to the comments made by Jonathan Haidt. As Haidt says at 5:00 in the video "very few families have 4 or 5 kids. Often families have only 1 child. When you have 1 kid you are more likely to over protect because you have all your eggs in one basket. " here is the link to the video. i time stamped it at the 5 minute mark www.youtube.com
I think this move by the Conservative government in Ontario might be a positive step forward.

Several users enjoyed the Agenda video, however, i'll stop posting youtube vids. I'll just quote them directly and you can go to them if you wish.

the claim that "this ruined him for life" because he switched universities is a clear indicator the other poster is not arguing in good faith. Clearly, an 18 year old who changes schools is not "ruined for life." So its better not too engage this silliness.
Canada's Oldest Rape Crisis Centre ... stripped of City Funding. The province of BC provides most of its funding. The Centre will no longer be able to apply for city grants.
The defunding is the latest flashpoint in an ongoing struggle between transgender activists and feminist organizations who maintain that female-born and male-born women should remain distinct groups.
We do not have the experience to offer services to people without the same life experience … this is not our work,” Vancouver Rape Relief representative Hilla Kerner told a City a Vancouver committee last week.
It looks like this has been a decades long battle and it is not going to end any time soon.
It doesn’t really matter, since the city sets the rules of who gets funding for what. And being seen as supporting anti-transgender policies or organizations has done real economic damage to states and cities in the US because companies do not want to be associated with overt discrimination.
It’s a really dumb fight to limit services to a small number of people for no good reason.
There's a conflict within the ranks of feminism. A significant number of second wave feminists see this as males invading female spaces (again). This is the latest manifestation of that internal argument. Whether it's a good reason or not, I don't know, but the reason that I've heard is that women have already been traumatized by men, this is supposed to be a safe space for female born and yet "do not feel comfortable while in the presence of someone who used to live as a man." Other spaces could be provided for trans, but this is not the place. It's not arbitrary though as it is relevant to the recovery of their current set of patients.
They are commonly called TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) have a pretty contentious relationship with other feminists and trans gender rights advocates. Most of their advocacy is about denying transgender folks services or excluding them from feminist organizations, which is a pretty rancid form of advocacy IMO.
