In light of the present Lebron checking out and never having MJ/Kobe's killer mentality, let's revisit this segment about MJ vs. Lebron thing with Zeke
I try to understand Zeke's point of view, I mean he is 80's old school of non flashy and rough style of play, but there is no way his evaluation of Jordan is not sour graping on their beef. In the clip above, he says Lebron is the GOAT and not MJ because LBJ gives to the community and he has also added as reasons in all other interviews/tv shows that Lebron has a genius mind because he did not have any good coach and all his basketball knowledge comes from his own (I think this was in an episode of Open Court), while Jordan, Kobe, Duncan, and all the other greats were part of the system. There was even one episode in Open Court (that I have been binge watching again recently) where they talk about failed potentials. One name that was brought up was TMac, and Kerr mentioned that despite all his talents, TMac never showed the fire that MJ or Kobe had. Zeke quickly jumped in to dismiss this by saying that it was a product of Jordan's coaching system and learning institution. Kerr, ever the gentleman, just let it go. In another episode, I think it was about eras, Zeke once again dismissed MJ's rise to greatness not in his skill or knowledge or knowledge of fundamentals, but, I quote loosely, "he jumped high and stayed on air and no one ever seen that before".
The bitterness was painful to listen to. Zeke is an great basketball mind who can eloquently express himself, and it's a pleasure to watch him on these shows, but whenever the topic gets to Jordan, he automatically becomes bitter and dismissive.
To the point made on the clip, he ignores the fact that LBJ is an athlete with the most controlled and groomed corporate identities in the age of ubiquitous social media. And if he looked more closely at LBJ's off the court adventures, he'd cringe so hard. Whenever the idea of Lebron's superteam is brought up, he is quick to point out that MJ was part of the superteam himself, but he would just as quickly also dismiss Pippen (who he also has a beef with) as a superstar.
Zeke seems willing to lie or ignore the facts just so he can undermine Jordan's greatness.
Pistol Pete would adopt. How about Bob Cousy or all the other pgs? As long as they level with the present technological and training advantages, I think they'd do well. It's the centers I think that would be less flexible.
Which do you think is true - his CAREER stats or this recent play after being out for 7 months? Please, enlighten me.
and lol @ "safe to say efficient scorers". If you want to even get in the ball park of a comparison just compare his efg%/TS% to league average. Jeez.
Then if you want to get a better rating you can debate the merits of using USG% to group guys. Either way just posting some numbers that don't explain anything is useless.

lol, did you miiss the entire context of my IT post was only on his stint with the Cavs? And if FG% and scoring volume does not explain to efficiency to you, then you know nothing about numbers at all.
the context is the general comment that IT is an inefficient scorer.

my replies are for public consumption. Especially the Isiah Thomas stuff. you probably don't know who allan slaight is or how the ownership deal between bitove/thomas & slaight worked.
basketball in Toronto before Isiah Thomas arrived... off the top of my head...
Buffalo Braves home games played in Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.
NCAA March Madness is the #1 sports topic in Toronto in the 70s and 80s because the Blue Jays season has not started and the Leafs sucked balls.
Toronto had cable TV before most households in New York state did and so Toronto got all the New York channels for DECADES before the Raptors were born.
All Buffalo Sabres/Bills home games have 20%+ Canadian fans. Bills and Sabres have several "canada day" events. I highly suspect the Buffalo Braves had the same situation.
So when Isiah Thomas claims he "built" basketball in Canada/Toronto from nothing.. he is 100% full of shit. There was a massive fan base sitting here waiting for him just like there was for the Toronto Blue Jays. The economy was absolutely fucking booming when the Raptors arrived. unemployment was at all time lows that have never been matched
Making Basketball succeed in Toronto was like shooting fish in barrel.
LOL indeed. You dodged JimmiC with the Wiggins argument with nothing but simpleton 1 liners. You're doing the same here. I gave you facts and you have nothing.

you just said you don't want me to reply.. then u reply to me. whatever man. i made my point.
Damn JJ is seriously not well or too self-absorbed. Why would I want to talk to him? It was for Ace and his debate with JimmiC on Wiggins as below average.

if you don't want replies from me stop addressing me.
back to basketball.. here are the "Total Points Added" leaders.
meh, people barely even know/knew Thomas was in Toronto, and they definitely don't care about what he says of it now.
And IT's problem isn't necessarily his offense within the team but their defense in general. Up until earlier this week, IT on-- 103.1 oRTG, 118.2 dRTG IT off-- 110.9 oRTG, 108.6 dRTG
I can see their offense getting better as they integrate more, but their defense is still atrocious.
Well, he has this penchant for butting in conversations and post stuff "no one cares about" (Jerubaal, iirc). So either way, we lose because he will make it about himself while not really engaging in a discussion like normal healthy people would. I just find him laughably funny now, so all is good in the hood.

great, that hasn't stopped THomas from continually spreading BS for decades about what he did in TO. and it makes me wonder what else he is BS-ing about.
