They have to fix these internal player issues. @JimmyJ I hope Cousins has a good rehab and can get back to the state that he was playing. They probably should've rested him more especialy after his 47+ min game that he had where AD fouled in early OT. I had just read the espn article talking that Pelicans might have a good chance of taking out the Rockets in the playoffs if they meet cause of the Davis + Cousins duo vs the shot blocking of Houston. I wonder what moves the Pelicans will make before the trade deadline now.

This injury is going to make signing him even riskier. I think he will get max contract with a shorter duration maybe? I feel he can lose some athletism since he can still be very good in the post and didn't rely on blasting through or by the defence before. Jumping though might be critical since he is so big.

It really doesn't matter if you can pay people, a player is actually only worth something if they exceed the value of their contract, otherwise you are better off with all rookies (who almost all exceed the rookie contract). With guys like KD, Lebron, Steph, Harden, etc providing $20 million+ in value over their contract number you are losing if you have a guy making $25mil a year who is worth $25 mil. With his history of team weirdness, I'd do a 20-30% discount on his actual numbers when evaluating him.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22236287/andre-roberson-oklahoma-city-thunder-injures-left-leg-taken-court-stretcher medical staffs are 5000X better than 40 years ago. players carefully stretch and warm up more thoroughly than 40 years ago. the players are stronger than ever with super advanced training regimens. i think their muscles are a lot stronger while their connective tissues remain the same strength. the weakest link in the chain breaks. Now it really seems like he was being a bit of a mercenary by switching teams when he did just to get that bigger paycheck, but I have to say that it was probably a smart business decision to make. a multi-billionaire blinked in a stare down with a player making crazy wild threats. was the player crazy enough to make good on his crazy threats? the multi-billionaire was too afraid to find out.
