That is disgusting. I had 100 orbs saved and pulled one 5* Chrom on my last session. I got Christmas Chrom off my free pull and nope'd out of the banner after. I went ahead and used 11 orbs on the legendary weapons banner before getting a 5* Minerva, which completes my flier team. So that was nice. Kinda feel like I missed the strongest xmas knight in Tharja though... it's easy to lose units to that stupid close counter nightmare bikini in arena.

new mage unit could be nutty depending on stat spread, we'll see in a few hours. i was planning on working on starting my super merged mage unit, but im gonna hold off until i can figure out how she fits into the meta.

Horse mages, because another ranged cavalry unit to have better colour coverage to go with Lyn and Reinhardt is totally healthy for arena right. B-slot skill also looks bonkers.

her stat distribution is ass actually, she's going to be decent just because shes a horse mage with unique skills though.
and holy shit the new years units are insane. Azura and Camilla are nutty af. Takumi is the best dagger user hands down, but, its still a dagger user. Corrin got pretty shafted and didnt get anything neat

She's a faster Cecilia. If nothing else, Horse cancer just got a huge upgrade just off that since she can bladetome better. But yeah, I'm surprised her stats are so....bad overall actually. 25 base res for a unit that comes stock with Glacies and Res ploy, really?
New year's units are datamined info! (Don't think anyone cares though.) Azura doesn't have boosted stats but first flier dancer is going to be nuts with Guidance or Flier Formation shenanigans depending on whether she's in a flier or mixed team.

got into a discussion with a friend over the highest damage possible in a single combat. the only restrictions were that you couldn't account for bonus stats from things like TT bonus, everything else was fair game. This was the best we were able to come up with:
810 damage = + Show Spoiler ++10 Effie with +ATK IV, Summoner/Ally Support Rank S and low hp for procs Weapon: Ridersbane+(ATK Forged) Ult: Astra A: Brazen ATK/SPD 3 B: Wrath 3 S: Attack 3 Effie has a base of 77 attack after skills/equipment. Effie receives +32 attack from allies (Harsh Commanded'd Seal Atk 3, Geirskogul x3, 3x C passive Spur Atk 3, 1x seal Spur Atk 3) Effie has enough speed to double, and this adds up to a total of 109 attack going into combat.
Fighting against a level 1 Eliwood with Ruby Sword+ and 0 def after debuffs.
first attack with Astra/Wrath buff: floor of (109*(1.5)*(1.4)*(2.5)) + 10 = 582 2nd attack: floor of (109*(1.5)*(1.4)) = 228
582 + 228 total damage: 810
Unless I missed something, using this method the only thing I suspect that could increase this is: - A lance unit with more than 40 base ATK is released. - Drive Atk Seal is released. - New mechanics
Edit: Lowered from 852 to 810 because I realized that Wrath damage is added after multipliers.

I was really hoping to find a way to crack 1k, but I don't think it's possible right now. We started out around 500~ and pretty quickly shot up to mid 700 solutions, it was a struggle to squeeze out those last few points.

Actually, since you're going for doubling and you're already lowering HP to activate Brazen, why not just go full troll with brave lance quadding with the brash assault seal? The 3 additional hits should even out the loss in damage on your astra hit, right?

Since you're hitting a lvl 1 Eliwood, does Effie even need the speed boost to double him? Or couldn't you put all your effort into buffing ATK?

Or couldn't you put all your effort into buffing ATK? Probably more to the "reaching 1k damage in one round" part since he already calculates the follow up attack to try and get there. The first reaches about 580, which very comfortably kills Eliwood.

Debating if I want to do a standard bladetome build, a spicy Gronnowl build, or SI both and just use one occasionally with subpar IVs. Hmm.

Is there any advantage to owl over blade? unaffected by panic ploy if you build around it properly. generally a lot beefier, and can take a hit if not multiple, and you still pretty much nuke everything. it requires a decent bit more building around and specific positioning than just slapping some C skills on your other units though.
edit: I ended up building a +7 nino for the time being. did part of an arena run this week with a completely new team and boy it is fun. Current team is Olivia, Nino, Alfonse, and Nowi.

So I pulled flying Azura, and man, she is kinda crap. Stat-wise she's a strictly worse version of Catria, and getting her to 40+x is nigh impossible since she's a seasonal hero (which also means she's probably not going on any arena teams if I want to get over 4.9k). Earth song or whatever is not a particularly exciting B skill, either, and I'm all out of Cains to feed for Wings of Mercy.
Oh well, I'll wait for the next banner... whatever it is.

EDIT: And oh yeah, next banner is Radiant Dawn, Michaiah, Sothe and Zelgius (who is basically Black Knight but better. Why does he have BK's unique weapon and special btw? I don't play mainline games.)
