That being said I'm not taking it that seriously tho, I already have 2-3 solid lineups and was just playing with the idea after seeing how sick Elincia looks.
On a not-FEH note: I'm in the mood to buy one of the WiiU VC games but idk if I should get Blazing Blade or Sacred Stones. I've probably asked this before tbh, I'm going to scroll back through older posts in this thread lol
Yango would tell you hands down to get Sacred Stones, as would many other people here, I think.
I personally have found the Blazing Blade characters more memorable but honestly I don't think you can go wrong either way.

The correct answer to this question is "why not both" The likely answer is probably both, maybe, just which to play first. To my knowledge they aren't related story-wise right? I'm leaning Sacred Stones to be safe.

SS has a smaller cast, split routes, optional grinding monsters etc. FE7 is a bigger cast, differ t playable modes with some diffrences, no grinding, no monsters, and focuses on the brilliant eliwood hector bromance...and lyn is there too I personallgy like fe7 more, but it really doesnt matter which you play first.

I'm pretty medium on both FE7 and FE8, I just think that if you aren't new to the series, then the best way to experience FE6/7 is in release order, so FE8 is the best way to get your feet wet on GBAFE without spoiling that for yourself. If you have no interest in playing FE6, then it doesn't really matter.

They all feel kind of dull compared to fates now.

1/3 through Conquest for me, and that was the first and only one I tried
Hard to miss an opportunity to wax nostalgic for the GBA FE games though

FE6 still holds up quite well. Waxing nostalgic about GBAFE is a little funny to me given that the one that wasn't localized and didn't play until years later with a proper translation patch is the one of the three I think is legitimately good.

The infernal version of the Hawkeye/Ninian map in FEH seemed pretty easy. Gray/Green Ike/Lilina w/ G Tomebreaker/Priscilla, nothing too fancy tactics-wise. I guess I could have done Julia instead of Lilina but Lilina needs the SP and hero merit more.

The only thing I really remember from FE6 was having to restart the Rutger recruitment chapter because I kept forgetting what turn or where he spawned. I found it a pretty frustrating game all around because of having to play around reinforcements on enemy turn killing your generally underpowered units.

It does have quite a few frustrating gameplay moments (and basically all the gaiden chapter maps are kind of terrible), but it also does have quite a few great maps. Same-turn reinforcements are a thing in a lot of chapters but honestly if you play tight and fast, they aren't really all that punishing (Rutger's recruitment is one of the most notable exceptions, and not really defensible).
I find it better than FE7/8 in general by virtue of the fact that it took more risks with level design and came out with a few big winners, whereas FE7/8's map design is just much safer and uninspired, and therefore not all that interesting once you know your way around them.

I'd have to play it again to really have an opinion at this point. I'm a much different player than I was almost decade ago.

I don't have a red mage to bait that green tome so I'm resorting to baiting everybody down the center with CYL!Lucina to bait the red cav, however she takes like 80% damage from that guy and I'm forced to try and retreat down and then everything goes very wrong with Ninian dancing random things into range and fucking everything up no matter who's in front.

So I saw rumor that everyone is going to get a Black Knight?
If so I am totally going to try for an armor team by picking up an Amelia. Hector/Effie/Black Knight/Amelia would be pretty interesting. Hector/Black Knight have ranged counters and other 2 can support as needed. Just curious as to who to give hone/fortify armor.

Yes its been confirmed, that BlackKnight will be the tempest trial reward, a 4star one and a 5star one if you can hit enough points to get them. https://feheroes.gamepedia.com/Black_Knight So he has a distance counter built into his weapon, so basically hes already amazing. On top of that he has a unique special which is insane. Comes with wings of mercy for arena wins and has one of the best A skills for tanky units aka-Steady stance.
He basically completes armor emblem for their missing red slot.
Theres a couple of ways ive seen armor buff being run.
For arena defense: If all of them carry some form of distance counter (aka running a silver lance + with DC on effie) then you can actually just stack up 4 ward armors, giving them extremely high resistance basically the enemy needs to bait you to move your units in opposite directions before attempting to kill them. You probably want to remove amelias armor march for defense as most people like to bait other units out of position, and having that extra space to move can take you out of ward armor range. Otherwise all your units are getting +12/+12 on top of their crazy defensive stats. Even if you dont deal damage to them surviving enough to trigger bonfire basically guarantees a kill.
The other option is a player controlled style, where you run hone, fort, march, ward. Personally i prefer ward over Goad for armor emblem as most of them dont make use of the speed.

I didn't realize that Ward/Goad stacked each time. That seems pretty strong.
Also I think Distant Counter is only available on Hector for SI right? Or is there another unit I don't remember off hand that I could go for to get that. I only have 1 Hector so wouldn't want to SI him over to Effie when I need him lol.
edit: Also, the voice actor for the Black Knight is Robert Clotworthy, who also does Jim Raynor in SC. Small world for voice acting I guess.
