i pulled a hector with -spd +def, which i thought is pretty much perfect, but according to the wiki recommended build, he should be +spd -def

so is my hector good, and what kind of skills should i give him?

Your hector is great, you dont care about spd because your weapon is a built in quick-riposte. So yeah u have the best IV's possible :D
Vantage is the B-skill you want, special you can go with bonfire/ignis because of the super high def (also that damage isnt reduced by def/res) so you just kill anything upon activation.
Your C-slot depends on what comp u have, its armor emblem cant go wrong with ward-armor. If you want him to be a solo monster you can run threaten defence.

Either way hector is amazing even without SI

I think +SPD -DEF probably is best but Hector works well with any IV more than most other characters. Congrats on the pull, he's super rare and kills it in TT right now with the extra stat boosts.

Grats on the Hector. The TT banner only gave me a shiny 5* Hawkeye from 100 orbs.
Can't complain though, got CYL Roy and CYL Lucina in 60 orbs so the TT banner had to even the luck out a bit.
There is no need to be mad.

I gotta figure out how to juice up my CYL Lyn+Ike+Lucina. Leveling them was ezpz and I've been using them+Olivia (dancer idk never hurts) for a lot of the TTs to pretty solid effect. I've not done any SI yet (in fact I'm still floating a lot of SP to prep for it since a few of their base skills seem meh). Suggestions? I'm sure I can keep Ike pretty basic as a tank and just abuse his stats, but I've no idea what to do with Lyn for example. Bows are a mystery to me; I've had a 5* Takumi for ages but I barely use him these days and never SI'd him lol.

Sacea's is to be able to attack people with distant counter and not be attacked back (Xander/Ike/Hector/etc).

Can't SI it to other people, so she has to keep it.

Yeah I guess I was only thinking of Hector since he seems more common than the others, but there's a few big threats it would be good against you're right.

I actually see Xander/Camus a lot more since Hector doesn't fit into horse emblem.

Ryoma/Ike are pretty common too, although are not really effective as a full team compared to horses. She basically has to have that b skill since otherwise she dies to any phys attack (18 defense doesn't really cut it, even less with L&D3).

I haven't put much into her for that, although I am running a Green Ike/Azura/BowLyn/Camus Arena team that works well. Ike/Camus can tank plenty and BowLyn will take care of most things I have to go offensive for. I am still using her base setup (+ Breath of Life 1 seal).

Well I put her on a horse team. If you don't atk smoke is fine.

meanwhile the difference between tier 18 and 19 is massive. so many whales at advanced levels ugh.
at least i'm chugging along alright with hector/cavlyn/olivia/reinhardt.

I can sometimes make it all the way to 20 with my pauperish team. Haven't managed to stay there though.

I've found that Eliwood is actually pretty serviceable as a 5* horse emblem guy. Atk 3/Swordbreaker/Cav buff with Reposition and Glimmer/an equally good skill and he'll usually win any sword or axe duel he gets into. My horse emblem team is now my default offense team and they give me deathless streaks fairly consistently (Titania/Eliwood/Olwen/Lyn).
Can someone please explain/how water falls with no rain?

I've made it to rank 20 one time, went on a deathless arena run in rank 20 and still deranked to 19 after that. Had like a 4720 and it wasn't enough lol.

I did run into a few teams when I was there that obliterated me too.

thats weird i constantly hit 4800, and theres only one time it allowed me into tier20.
20 is so hard to stay in, that most the time i allow myself to be demoted into 18, 19 because they give 4 orbs anyway. Getting out of 18 to 19 seems pretty easy at this point.

Unless you're whaling in this game, DO NOT give her LD3...thats crazy expensive for a tiny buff. Especially if youre running her with calv-buffs. Even more so, that in arena many of the maps require a bait to move the enemy units out of position (the defensive tile ones, where you cant reach them straight away but moving first is advantageous to bait them)
On defensive tiles you might survive, but in any other scenario you're hurting ur options.
Im not saying that LD3 is bad tactically, im just comparing LD3 to swiftsparrow theres no need to swap it out.

Dont forget to hoard 4star, gunters, eliwoods, reinharts.
You want to arrange your buffs, so that you're bladetome can be hit with both hone and Fort, which means she can run either Goad or Ward Cav.
Reinhart, you want him to receive hone and Goad, therefore you give him Fort.

Example, i run Blade-celica, reinhart, eliwood, lyn atm.
Cecila has Ward (So she doesnt miss out on any Hone/fort, and can be buffed by goad for that speed, i run darting blow so i can double everything)

Reinhart has Fort (he needs mainly atk, so hone and Goad can hit him)
Also often you either can blow up a Red unit with Reinhart or a Blue unit with Celica on the first turn, but then you have to get out of the way, so i run reposition on both of them, thus in the end they end up next to each other for Hone/Goad next turn)

Eliwood, Goad, He has plenty of Res already to tank anyway.

Lyn Hone, Shes so strong that she doesnt even really any attack buffs that badly because of Swift sparrow initiation.
