Was a nice effort.
while I don't like the decision (I enjoyed watching the tourneys) I get it. Wouldn't want to deal with that shit either.

There might be 1% of DNA that matches to KR BW users. :D

I'm really bummed about this. I wanted to keep these going through the release of Remastered, and put a lot of additional funds/effort behind growing it. I have Day[9] lined up and ready to cast some of these (dont worry, I'm gonna get him to cast one before we call it quits). I really wanted to make this work.
Sadly, the community made running these events *suck* for me, and its not like I was getting any return on this in the first place. Each of these events costs me $50-$100 to run (depending on how good people are about using matcherino codes), and I might make $1 in revenue from the stream. So if everyone wants to make me miserable, why bother wasting my time?
Now, as for my own involvement (and PSISTORM Gaming's) going forward in the BW/Remastered scene? It is too early to say. If the scene picks up, the team might sign a pro player to our roster. I can tell you one thing for certain, however. If we do, it wont be a foreign player.
Regarding the region locking on my SC2 tournaments. It is not super relevant to the discussion, honestly. I started those as region locked, in a time when there were just no NA tournaments. There are lots of them now, so I relaxed it from NA to "Americas", with 1 week in every 4 being completely open. I actually would love to remove all the region locking from the events, and it is something I've been thinking about for quite a while. I havent done it yet because, historically, my Global events have had double prize pools/etc.. and I am not sure if I would maintain that if every week is Global. There are also considerations with the sponsors of that event that have to be sorted out before I could make that decision.
In any event - these tours will continue through July 2nd. If you want to play in them in the meantime and get some free money, awesome - go nuts! Have fun! Just quit wasting my time with all the complaining. [...] chingchangchung [...]
what the fuck is wrong with you guys?

Btw, SonStar is Korean, a semipro. His name is 최진영(Choi, Jinyoung/yeong). He also made up to ASL Busan qualifiers finals, but lost to guemchi 2-1.
I believe he won 1 tour(very first tour?), but failed rest of the tours that he participated. Quite not sure why he stopped playing, and no one was really complaining about him.
And I hear from a few people yelling at me that why I couldn't make it.

I may add some funding to Schamtoo's tour - I am undecided on that point right now, but I've been considering it. That said, it honestly just feels *bad* to support these guys right now, you know?

If anyone wonders why foreigners can't play at Korean levels or at least come close, direct them to this thread and show them the foreigner's mentality at this game.
Also, people should stop using the term "foreign pros", this is anything but "professional" mindset that any pro players should have.

On June 12 2017 23:24 EndingLife wrote: "Stop whining about winning and get better" That sums it up pretty well. If you're complaining about one player being too good... Practice more? I don't think being born in Korea gives you a significant advantage, if any. Being able to practice the game for 12-15 hours a day will surely give you an advantage over the players who are only able to play a few hours a day. The reason Scan is so good compared to the others is due to the amount of practice he's put into the game. His understanding for the game, his game sense, his multitasking, his apm. 'Top foreigners' are behind Scan in every category listed above. How can you expect to win a game or a series of games vs a player who is WAY more mechanically sound than you? Rather than complaining about him being too good, how about work on your mechanics?
I used to be when I was young, but I am not taking that much of serious into the game and practicing massively. Although if I can play with good players to practice with, I just do so.
Quantity>Quality If you want to specifically improve multitasking/optimizing and stuff.
Quality>Quantity If you want to MAINTAIN overall skill.

Nobody cares about whiny has beens until they prove they have the mentality to improve and become worth the money.

e-Sports cultural difference with mindset I would say. In sports, they just have to improve without any disturbance. Just get better. Make a new record.
I even saw a YouTube video that one commentator was analyzing and telling stories why Koreans are so dominant in games.

What pro players..We are just better than the average casual players yet still behind from korean semi pros... and the word pro plays a role when you are getting paid for it.i dont think that even applies for Koreans right now witha fixed salary.
