Also, people should stop using the term "foreign pros", this is anything but "professional" mindset that any pro players should have. please do not assume all foreigners are the same. i fucking hate this bitching for the last 4 years. this alone destroyed my fun with bw. Sorry for generalizing (u cool bakuryu), but I am really getting pissed off to a point where I am just giving up hope for any top foreigner.
With current mindset, I dont see any "top" player being able to win a tournament when all they yell is "I can't beat this player from Korea, plz ban."

Seriously ? That's all you can remember from this discussion ? Pro (or top foreigner, i don't care how we call them) crying ?
You didn't see any others arguments ?
Guys, you can't have an open mind even if you disagree with someone ? I was for a ban from Scan to this tournament and i'm still but i can understand you guys who wants Scan in this tournament. How can't you understand those want a ban ? Is this that stupid from them ? They are just crying ? really ?
I think it's always good to discuss problems and foreign community really need a good talk but stop being an asshole and try to understand each other before writing bullshits.

... we do understand the argument, it's just childish and whiny and we don't have patience for it.

When the pro ban-korean fraction starts to bitch every single time (even tho the organizer heart the arguments and made his decission), sent hateful messages to the organizer, and make personal attacks on the Korean participating, it's kinda hard to have a decent discussion.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this or any kind of criticism is welcome anymore.

constructive criticism is always welcome. However, constant harassment and refusal to accept decisions once they've been made isnt.

Sorry, i was on vacation this time and couldn't join tourney.
Sunday time is not comfortable for me: Sunday, Jun 11 10:00pm MSK (GMT+03:00). Can we move tourney time some hours downwards? For example 07:00pm MSK (GMT+03:00)? With this move we can get more EU players to play there also.
Those guys who complain about koreans have no sportsmanship.
Let's make fun, not complain :D
P.S. Defiler tour have never been non-korean tour. Since Yoda (defiler.ru founder) had started to host defiler tours he restricted to ban koreans. Next defiler tour has another sponsor so he made his choice to make it non-korean.

On the other hand with the current time we have more Americans participating

Unfortunately, Schamtoo and I are both on the west coast of the US. That would put the start time at 9am for us. While I am an early riser and could probably work with that - Schamtoo isnt :D
I definitely understand that that is late/on an awkward day for our European players... Honestly, since there are only 3 more of these, I probably wont move it. That said, if we were going to host more I would probably try to find a more EU-friendly time, since you guys make up so much of our regular players.

because of the way we do it, I am limited to the map pool that Schamtoo uses for Have at You!
That said, I'll chat with him today and ask about changing it up a little bit.

Has anyone suggested Scan off racing? He's done it before in previous tournaments and that seemed to make people happy. In a bo5 he could play Z,T,Z,T,T. I am personally glad Scan has a tournament to participate in even though I understand the concerns of the other players. A year ago we were watching Scan play bo9's against top players and winning 1 game off of him counted as the foreign player winning the series. At least with off racing the gap will be bridged significantly. Anyway, just a food for thought and am not trying to promote that the tournament change in any fashion besides possibly maps.

Also, talk about 1.18 as well. This turn-rate is really nice IMO

are folks feeling good about the state of 1.18 now?
We didnt do that before because, honestly, people complained that it was too buggy :D If it is fixed and people want to switch, I am happy to do that.

Yes, poor mindset is the reason foreigners aren't at the same level as Korean pros. Not the decade of competitive training environments with full time organized practice and coaching. Will you be winning the next tournament with your superior mentality, SNM?

but scan never was a pro? As in he never benefited from the organized environment and still is way above other foreigners which started the whole debate.

A competitive environment, full time practice, coaching, these things only benefit people with strong mentality. Otherwise IdrA would have succeeded in Korea.
