I'm in my first season in fake baseball and I need some help with my roster.
I've been killing it pretty much all batting categories, except for SB and 3b... which is why I picked up Gomez. My pitching has been my weak point. Any time I've lost, it's been because of this.
Is it time to drop weaver? Who out of my OF should I trade away for a pitcher? And should I go for a SP or RF? I was kind of leaning towards picking up Hong-Chih Kuo, but I don't know who to drop.
I've been reluctant to drop any OF yet, because I know there's people who need them, but they are being stingy on trades.
Thanks!

I am! I'm in first out of 10. My pitching is just kinda mediocre and I can't swing a trade with anyone.

well honestly it's hard to say what you can do w/o seeing what's available, and who's willing to part with who trade wise you do have a lot of out fielders though i personally like having one or two utility guys that u can stick in for off days for other position players, but as it stands offensively i doubt yo'ure gonna find more speed guys unless someone gets called up from the minors
i guess watch the mid summer callups if you're still hurting for stolen bases

lol my bad i thought i put the FA list there originally.

I realize this is your first league, but my first advice is to find a much better league to play in. If you have those players and you're not absolutely dominating everything and everyone in that league, you've got way too few people playing. You've got three solid to great starters and three solid closers. Further, the categories that are being played with are pretty silly in my estimation (I've played way more fantasy baseball than I should). Any league that uses errors as a category should be smacked. Errors are quite possibly the worst judge of actual talent of any stat currently in use. On the bright side, you do have K/BB as a stat, which is a positive sign. You should pick up Saloman Torres, for what it's worth, as he's the closer for the time being with Gagne out and may well continue to be even once Gagne returns. I'd probably drop Jared Weaver to make room, but that's mostly because I hate Jared Weaver. Take that for what it's worth. Good luck this season.

I'm currently in first, up 14.5 games on the last playoff spot.
And torres just got snagged by the guy who had Smoltz
Won't dropping weaver leave me a little short on SP?

Unfortunate about Torres. Yeah, dropping Weaver might leave you a bit short. But that kind of depends on whether you have a minimum innings pitched requirement. But then, if you've got Sabathia/Beckett/RJ, you'll be able to win a lot of categories with them. And damn, I really don't like Jared Weaver at all. (Note: I'm a Mariner's fan, and, as such, detest all things Angels) Although I probably wouldn't recommend dropping him for no reason. Having four closers can be huge if you didn't pay much to acquire them. I assume Jon Rauch was a waiver wire pickup. So really, two closers off the scrap heap is incredibly valuable. Hell, see if you can package joe nathan and miggy tejada for hanley ramirez or something crazy like that. His value might be a little down, since he slumped a bit last month. That'd be a huge steal.
