GG! Agreed that it was very entertaining. Don't really understand all the Disruptor-bashing, feels a lot better than the colossus era or mass tempest vs tempest to me but to each their own.
Well done Neeb!

His PVP is clearly superior to korean PVP shown in this tournament. Oh and the amount of people bitching about things(toss, disruptors, region lock, balance, design etc) on teamliquid is incredible.

They are staying the same. Hopefully disruptors fall out of the meta with the other changes.

This unit has zero strategic value and just leads to random, tiresome games both for both players and viewers alike. I hate them with all my might. you're free to hate them, but if they were truly random then Neeb's 4-0 over Trap, 3-1 over Stats, and 2-0 over Zest would all be incredibly unlikely Hmmm I said they were random but there is little denying (I only catched the Apotheosis game) that at least Trap's blink disruptor control was abysmal while Neeb's was excellent. Give us two equally skilled blink disruptor players and yes, I think the game will be random as fuck. To sum up my thoughts : disruptors are intrinsically bad and random design-wise but Neeb was a lot better at using them than his KR opponents, probably because the KR meta isn't as disruptor heavy. if 2 players were completely equally skilled then the results are supposed to be random, equal skill should mean they have 50/50 win rate against each other, the fact that the better player won with such a good record means it isn't random
Yes lol since a sample size of 4 maps on a single day is the ultimate proof for each players true skill.
Anyways gratz to Neeb impressive to win that Cup. Im a little salty about Trap tho. How can he eliminate TY and then just crumble V.V

I don't know how the other series played out but I expected adept timings, chargelot immortal archons with phoenix ; not willingly going into a battle you can't win because your opponent is just more seasoned at it than you.

Can't say it was fun watching disruptor dance at all.
This was the first tournament watchin LoTV and here I though Blizzard would have made the game more small scale battles, more things here and there on the map.
Instead it's still two armies dancing around each other and then BOOM there goes all your units in one go and it's over. It has the potential to do that, yes. However, often it's a long slugfest with disruptors only getting small hits in a near constant battle. Neeb was down most the game but it was only with consistently better micro over like 8+ minutes that he brought it back

It is true, I wish there was a way to measure quantitatively but Neeb clearly knew the disruptor distance better than any of the Koreans, who tended to be too cautious and still took bigger losses when they made mistakes.
I think Neeb's defense against oracles was too good so it discouraged Trap and Stats from relying on stargate play. His early game is cautious enough that timing attacks are also not an obvious solution.

Can´t really understand all the excuses people are trying to find to downplay Neebs Acomplishments. He won the tournament that Buyn (the undisputed best player in the world at the time) lost in the group stage, beaten by zest twice, who, guess what? Neeb 2-0´ed.
As for PvP, I play terran, so maybe toss players have a different opinion, but i like the tension disruptor wars create and, better yet, IT ALWAYS REWARDS THE BETTER PLAYER. There is no doubt, if you watched the games, that Neeb new what he was doing, which disruptor to snipe, when to blink, when to retreat... he came back from a 14 to 6 disruptor deficit! Tell me that would happen in that wonderfull colossi x colossi PvP world...

That's kind of like saying dog shit is better than dog shit drowned in vomit and rancid donkey shit
You're not wrong but they're all still shit
watching the same composition run in circles shooting balls at each other for 20 minutes with units dying every 5 exchanges is an insult to starcraft

Doesn't change the fact I don't think disruptors do any good to the game and to players wrists in the end.
