I hate disruptors too, but I wonder why Trap/Stats didn't use phoenixes to counter them like Zest (and a few others) used to do.
Especially considering their disruptor/stalker army control sucked

Thanks for a great run Neeb, here is hoping you bring the same performance to Blizzcon.

Can't say it was fun watching disruptor dance at all.

This was the first tournament watchin LoTV and here I though Blizzard would have made the game more small scale battles, more things here and there on the map.

Instead it's still two armies dancing around each other and then BOOM there goes all your units in one go and it's over.

you're free to hate them, but if they were truly random then Neeb's 4-0 over Trap, 3-1 over Stats, and 2-0 over Zest would all be incredibly unlikely

Hmmm I said they were random but there is little denying (I only catched the Apotheosis game) that at least Trap's blink disruptor control was abysmal while Neeb's was excellent. Give us two equally skilled blink disruptor players and yes, I think the game will be random as fuck. To sum up my thoughts : disruptors are intrinsically bad and random design-wise but Neeb was a lot better at using them than his KR opponents, probably because the KR meta isn't as disruptor heavy.

if 2 players were completely equally skilled then the results are supposed to be random, equal skill should mean they have 50/50 win rate against each other, the fact that the better player won with such a good record means it isn't random

Yeah I shouldn't have said equally skilled but just close skill wise. The Apotheosis game showed how bad Trap's control was compared to Neeb's (packing disruptors and launching 6 novas at a time while Neeb dodged things last second, perfectly sniped disruptors etc...) and I guess the other Neeb - KRs PvP games didn't look that different. But I'm rather adamant that if you have a match between a player who is good with blink disruptors and another one who is excellent, the results will be random. Maybe I'm wrong but that's my opinion.

yeah that's the one good thing about this run. there are few arguments left now why koreans should be excluded from foreign tournaments. with more tournaments to play in they hopefully become more motivated again and regain their dominance.


Phrase that correctly and it might happen.

For example: foreign main organizations (DH, IEM, etc), we would like more global events next year, cause it looks like it has the potential to be really interesting.

Then we reward it with viewership when they do it, to display that we are in agreement with the practice.

yeah I wonder why no one went phoenix archon chargelot. With good control you can trash disruptors players with that composition.

It wasn't just PvP, Neeb's PvZ looked really good as well. Sure, he had two super fast losses to Pet, but unlike getting out-macroed/out-microed, build order losses are something he can easily fix. I think he easily showed the skills needed to compete in that match-up.

Came here to confirm how fucking epic that was and all I see is whining.... SC2 community never cease to amaze.

Couldn't agree more. It drags out games that should have ended a long time ago. It's excruciating to watch and play.
