besides Roger managed to follow the Poneglyphs without having someone who can read it, there might be a way to understand those specific ones well enough to follow the directions on them in which case noone cares that Robin can read them
The kouzuki clan could read and write the poneglyphs. Lord Oden kouzuki was the last that could do so and was part of Roger's crew. So you do need someone who can read the poneglyphs to follow them.
Kaidou either killed Oden Kouzuki because Oden wouldn't reveal the secrets of the poneglyphs OR that Kaidou was unaware that the Kouzuki clan were the stonesmiths who crafted the poneglyphs (it's a secret, right?)

That's Crocus, and both he and Oden Kouzuki were part of the Pirate King's crew. It's not improbable for someone to travel around the world to have a drink with an ex-crewmember. It's a nice find

presumably, unless i missed something it was never stated that he was

The more I think about, the more this final island must be bizarrely hard to find or hidden too well.
We already have island in the air and deep down in the sea, an island that is alive/moves, but yet there is a mysterious island that you can't go without collecting 4 parts of information.
So is this like some special location that you need to reach the specific area where you get teleported (like some Bermuda triangle), or this is some known island but nobody knows what is actually hiding in it (WG did visit and dig into every islands that Roger has been to right? Surely they didn't visit all or something is hiding in one of those visited islands).
Jesus, I need the answer now, not 5 or 10 years later oda pls

how is it hypocritical? i state an opinion, other people state opinions, other people get angry i have opinion, i defend opinion and somehow im the hypocrite

hes saying youre hypocritical because you defend your opinions so much yet attack others' opinions that may not even be as outrageous as your own. you ladies need to stop shitting up the thread with your bitching though
and im with burningsera with this. i dont want to wait another 10 years to find out the mystery of raftel. how is it possible that no one knows where this island is and how to get there. theres got to be some magic behind this because i dont think oda is gonna go with putting raftel up in the sky again or something. if it was some island just sitting in the middle of the ocean somewhere youd think someone would have mapped it out by now

point of the thread is to discuss the manga, thats all i do

Its so weird, there are ancient kingdoms in the new world, reaching it is not something new. It sounds like "conquering" the grand line is really just finding Raftel.
At first it sounded like the great feat of Roger was earth's circunvention, but it really is moving around and finding the clues to Raftel.
Specially if you consider that there are ancient kingdoms in the new world, that the marines can cross the calm belt... Surely, no place in the world is out of reach. If it was in a small part of the grand line that the yonkou or the marines cannot acess, the rough location should be obvious and the poneglyphs are not a necessary step, sounds unlikely.
Raftel is probably hidden in a position that can be reached by sea.
I doubt its a sky island, it sounds much harder to acess if its sunk, even fishmen won't find it with no clues, no light or any way to guide to the position. But it could be anything.
My crazy theory is that its inside the red line. Not over it, its underground covered by miles of ground and rock.

iirc theres a path from raftel to crocus's lighthouse so unless you make it to raftel its not possible to sail all the way around the world because theres only one hole in the red line

damn, didnt think Jack would come back to Zou... wonder when we will see Sanji again now haha
|
Year of Sanji sure... They still need to rescue him so he can be part of the crew again. Unless Sanji is going to get a solo arc like Luffy it still is going to be a while before we see him again.
|
I mean I guess Oda's been setting up this huge Sanji exposition for ages so maybe someday we'll finally get to see him do something but good lord.

Jack is one hell of a badass.
|
Will zou be OHKO by jack? Big elephant down maybe?
|
Lmao i did not expect luffy to decline to help somebody
Well luffy did accept it but lol "OI you're supposed to handshake it." luffy pls. Law should've already known by now that his opinion has usually been irrelevant.
Ninja-pirate-mink alliance hype
+ Show Spoiler +also zoro lol though i wonder how luffy is actually gonna resolve the sanji thing without fighting bigmum
Oh crap Jack is coming back. Also he'll kill the elephant ?

A solo sanji quest would be awesome but if he's going solo he does something badass.
I know he's top 3 SH fighter along with luffy and zoro but he's not the type of character that i expect to shine through defeating some final boss like luffy or go full warrior mode with unfazable discpline and loyaly by zoro but rather doing something clever like during his "PRINCE-SAN!" time during the alabasta saga when he saved everybody's ass when they all got captured by crocodile and maybe something similar to what he did during the water 7 when he was 1 step ahead of the crew in trying to save robin.
