This means that Kizaru can move 30,000 kilometers before he's even noticed. I wonder why he didn't use that ability to absolutely annihilate Luffy before he could even respond... Even if you use Haki to see the future, your mind would not be able to keep up with an object moving that fast. But whatever, that's all in the past now. The SBS actually reveals quite a bit of other interesting information regarding Aramaki and Fujitora. Amaraki was a police officer that was imprisoned for his crimes and Fujitora was a bodyguard. That's right these two Admiral level characters were absolute nobodies in their past lives and never used their absurd strength for anything. In this dog eat dog universe of piracy, two of the strongest characters in the entire setting never used their powers to enforce their will on the world, and instead signed up to be lapdogs for the World Government at the first opportunity. Makes total sense.... My impression is they were both freed from some form of imprisonment as part of the deal to join the marines.

i like the build up to elbafs arc so far. we have a mystery figure in loki, luffy uncharacteristically keeping his silence on his meeting with loki and the final quote in the chapter that suggests theres probably some other secret to elbaf. i think were going to get a lot of lore dump this arc too

Here's what I think is going on: Mosa is Imu. He's talking about still being shook from that Haki blast on egghead. IDK how or why he's friends with Loki but he knows the Straw Hats are on Elbaf so he teleported over his God's Knights to free him and have him target the Straw Hats. I hope we get a lore dump on Joy Boy in this arc. So many references to him as a great warrior that they no doubt have history records on. Perhaps we might even get a Joy Boy flashback?

I'm still inclined to believe that it is Imu who is creating the summoning circles because it was Joyboy's Haki blast that "disrupted" the connection and sent the Gorosei home. We know it couldn't have been Saturn since he's dead. It could also be Shamrock's fruit I guess... However, given that we've seen Imu sucking the soul out of Saturn, I am much more inclined to believe that he's the one with the "Devil" devil fruit that allowed him to make contracts to grant the Gorosei immortality and also create ritual summoning circles to teleport them around. Also, I'm happy that Luffy is going to get to fight and defeat Shanks. Storywise it would not have made sense for them to fight but Oda really likes throwing in mysterious brothers last minute to replace characters whenever he wants *cough* Sabo *cough*. So the main fight will still be Luffy vs. Shanks at Elbaph except it's double-armed racist shanks. Can't wait!

![]() I wonder what the handicap for Luffy will be with the main fight for this arc. For me it would feel like a bit of an asspull that at this point in the story, there's some random governmental body capable of going toe-to-toe against him.

Im not 100% sure, not even 60% but between this and Egghead, I think Oda is introducing some new power system to stack on top of Haki and Devil fruits, and probably there is some trick to overcoming it. And maybe that is just more conqueror's haki (see the rope knot), but maybe also its some sort of soul bonding, and the Straw hats can actually fight together for once (since the corpse of Oars).

You know, I understand why the world government wants Elbaf for the upcoming war, but honestly it's far more effective as an agricultural exporter than a military power. Giants tend to go down fairly quickly in One Piece In fact I can only think of one time when a giant actually won a fight: Hajrudin vs. Machvise. However, all the plants and animals on Elbaf are massive. They can probably produce enough food for the entire grand line. If Mariejois is having food problems then they should be using Elbaf to feed themselves, not as disposable shock troops that barely do anything but look intimidating. Also, I love the designs of the Gods' Knights. They're mostly human, whereas every other pirate nowadays looks like some cartoon monstrosity. Reminds me of early One Piece which had way better character designs.
