The only logical reason for them losing on Godvalley is that they imploded even if Roger pirates + Marines jumped their ass. Although practically speaking WG could overwhelm any faction if they want so long they pile up all their players (5 elders, gods knights and top marines) | ||

The simp stuff has always been there. It's been Sanji's schtick from the beginning. Brook is also very lecherous. It was also there en-masse when the Kuja pirates were introduced quite a long time ago. It's not really meant to be romance. It's used as a comedic gag much more than drama. You may have outgrown Oda's comedy... which is fair, you are a much older person than when you started. | ||

For some reason fighting over a women to the point of annihilation sounds like such a normal human thing ever which is fairly common If it really turns out that's the reason Rocks and Roger fought to death then it makes sense Like I know Oda usually uses it more as a gag given the medium and the supposedly target audience in mind by the author but sex, money and power are like mostly what people fight over. And i'd be down if the massive fight really happened over some women It's not always and it makes more sense than another silly reason. I mean what else do people(one piece characters) live for in the day and age without videogames and other recreational activities. Ofc it's just gonna be about power, money and women lol | ||

But this might not be the case, since Rocks said he moved his wife and kid to God Valley (his homeland) for their safety. That implies that teach was conceived / born somewhere else. Probably on Hachinosu. | ||

what would be the motive for roger to protect them? isnt it more the case of roger and garp having a common enemy in xebec, but their reasons for fighting would be different? garp being a navy officer obviously has to protect the celestial dragons and the current world order, and roger would be fighting because xebec being "king of the world" probably wouldnt go well with his own plans | ||

I think a good motive would be that, after the battle is over, Xebec would kill them when they're defenseless, driven to it by them hunting members of his family for sport, and Roger + Garp might intervene to protect then-unarmed Tenryuubito. The morally complex choice to save defenseless but abhorrent people would be interesting for me. It's otherwise been a little over-the-top good/evil for me recently. | ||
