Kinda disappointed the Koreans only get to feature in an allstar match tbh, would have much preferred them being involved in the actual tournament and not a side event.

Do the winners of the all-star match also get prize money? This is probably gonna run at near unwatchable times for me anyway

This is nice. Hopefully more events will future small invite "all-star" tournaments like this. I also hope that the all-star event has another $5.000-10.000 prizepool.

The offline qualifier is open to all wcs circuit eligible players, not just Chinese players. The tournament is also part of the GPL brand, full title is Gold Series International 2016.
On phone atm, will post what other things I know (and can say ofc) later.

Nice, should be fun.
But I'm still waiting for the first WCS Global event to be announced :/.

EDIT: but I like the idea that they will have some great successful international winner and then they will let him be beaten in a showmatch like Lilbow - Life.

Somehow it feels to me that there is no structure yet at all to the entire Circuit system, I doubt that these events will be the same next year and I think that's what is required from the system to be truly of equal opportunities as Blizzard + partners wanted.

There is a clear structure: Checklist: Did you ban all Koreans? Yes? OK, here are the money to support your welfare tournament.
